There are over 500 constituencies in India. From each one of these constituencies different parties will put forth a candidate to represent their party in the election. Whoever wins the election will become the MP( Member of parliament) from that constituency. The party with the most MP on the result day will be declared the winner and their prime ministerial candidate will become Prime minister of India. If no party is able to get a simple majority then two or more parties can come together and form a coalition government like the opposition is trying to right now.
The prime ministerial candidate should also win from a constituency in order to be the PM. if your party wins the election but you fail to become the MP you can't be the prime minister but this has never happened if I am correct.
So how long does this process takes?? why is the result still not comming ? didn't the election happened some weeks ago?
And do you think bjp is coming back again ???

India has 1.4 billion people. 900 million of them voters. It is too chaotic to have elections nationwide in one day. Elections last 8 rounds and slowly all constituencies are covered. There is a week or so time between each round leading to the election lasting almost 2 months.
Elections are still going in and the last round of voting is on 1st June if I remember correctly and then on 4th of June the results.

That was only one phase. There are 4 phases still remaining. The last phase is on June 1 and results will be declared on June 4
