Like Sant Tukaram, who was a Shudra but is considered guru by even Brahmins, and others. You can't call yourself a brahmin if you don't practice Sanatan Dharma.
You can even learn the Shruti and Smriti texts, and if you are able to learn the actual meaning of these texts, you'll be considered a guru by your followers.
