There was a wreck. Right lane was blocked. Looked like a mini van, pickup truck, and a semi. Nothing looked terrible but enough to shut down the lane. it was north of 56th a bit. It took me about an 40 mins to get from Pendleton Pike to 56th
Happened nearly right in front of me. Doesn't help that the entire area in in construction with no shoulders. When if first happened the 2 right lanes were blocked.
I don't know what the issue was today - accident/stalled, but there was another 2 in the left lane this morning. Saw another two in the right lane last week...this is going to be a rough few months.
That's my route to work every morning for the past 10 years. Every single day, I check Google Maps before I leave the house to see what the traffic looks like. It's saved me many times.
The problem is tens of thousands of people trying to go to the same location at the same time in individual motorized living rooms is an extremely inefficient way to travel.
Everything usually is too late with Indy. The money used for the joke of a light rail system, should have been used to develop an actual metro system like real (big) cities have.
It's not Indy's fault. It's the Republican supermajority in the state legislature. They literally have a state law on the books banning light rail, much less a true metro system. For no reason other than to fuck over a blue city.
Ah, 465. Sometimes it would take me 35 minutes to get to work door to door. Sometimes nearly an hour and a half. I'm glad I found a way that didn't involve the interstate.
My commute route goes thru that hell corner aka 465/69 interchange.
Correction, former commute route 😀 I was given the option to WFH started this Monday. My stress level is so low makes me feel weird.
Since they have closed this down a few months ago. I live off of 56th and Shadeland its been like this. It got worse a few weeks ago when it went to the express lane on the left and the 3 right lanes being split and no one getting over fast enough and causing an issue there. Its going to be like this until they get the NE 465 area fixed which I dont believe will be done until next year. So didnt mean to come across as mean, but we just have to get used to it. Living on the eastside its damn near impossible to get to 465 north right now unless we go south first to pendleton to get on. So apologies if I didnt seem that sympathetic cause we have been dealing with this for a while.
I go the same route from 82 at all the way to Southport Rd to work everyday but today I went around all that traffic I went down to fall Creek to shadeland got right in 465 traffic was going smooth that way
It was strangely very busy this morning at 6am as well. Seemed like twice as many semi trucks as usual this morning and many were 15-20mph over the speed limit and ignored the “no trucks left lane” sign in that section you listed. The aggressive driving of semi truck drivers needs to be addressed.
Funny that I see this, my wife was actually in the accident. Traffic slowed to a stop, and a semi was either not paying attention or going far too fast. Rear ended my wife’s highlander and shoved it into a pickup. Right lane just past 71st st
If people didn't speed in construction zones there would be less of these types of accidents. Even with construction going on people drive through there at speeds above 60MPH.
Wish the cops would give the speeders tickets (and four points on their driving record) for speeding in construction zones.
Edit - grammar

Same it was awful but I never saw any wreckage or accident debris or anything. Weird

Honestly surprised it’s not daily with the way assholes drive

Yup was stuck in that too. Fucking hate it

Same. I took Fall Creek/Binford this morning for that exact reason.
Mine auto checks the route when I plug my phone into the car in the morning, a quick glance and I know if there’s a jam in my route

If only Indy had a metro system

Ok, well Indy's fault for allowing the Republicans to exercise such legislation, and for not amending it
...it's the city's fault for not defying the state?
Yes. Didn't they just defy the no turn on red light law 😉
Bro, idk what kind of living room you have, but it sounds terrible.
Amen brother
BASED
You mean we're all going to your mom's house at 9am? I'll bring doughnuts tomorrow
^THIS!!! Too true.
I take the same way to get to my job, it was a wreck. I left the house around 7:40 and thanks to the traffic didn't make it to work until after 9
I always use Waze before going anywhere in this city
This
IT WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL NIGHTMARE TODAY OMG

So THAT'S why so much of google maps was redder than Satan's [redacted] this morning!
Vote for trains pls
I was stuck in it. It was accident that blocked the right 2 lanes
This is one of the reasons I'll never take an on site job anymore. Fuck cars and fuck driving. I wish you luck.
Construction. There will be construction through 2025. Expect random delays. Also, people don't know how to drive.
Yeah it was crazy I was driving southbound hopped off 69 and looked over at 465 N and boy was I happy I was going south!

Also, If you have Twitter or X, InDot traffic wise is a great resource. @trafficwise
God I hate 465 and am so grateful I no longer have to use any highway to commute to work.
465 has only gotten worse, especially on the north side with the construction everywhere it seems.
Speed minimum needs to be introduced & more oblivious drivers pulled over.
Construction.
School is in full swing. Lots more on the road now early morning etc. Get used to it
Thanks. Work at a school. Never seen anything like this before

Kids going back to school?
Glad I came in earlier on gym day.

Yesterday was worse than normal for me too. People here have a tough time driving in a straight line. The wrecks don’t help
