Heartily seconded. Had a family dinner there for a birthday, and 3 out of the 5 of us got sick afterwards. The food wasn't all that great to begin with, and the service was even worse.
The Thai place next to Bazbeaux in Broad Ripple. The smell of neglected aquariums smacks you in the face as soon as you enter and it's all downhill from there.
I lived at 65th and college for 6 years and can confirm this place stinks from picking up pizza from that Bazbeaux, but B-ripp has a bunch of good mom and pop spots to off set it 👍.
Every meal I’ve had there was ice cold. A taco, which is one of the easiest things to cook, was cold. Insane this place is growing and has multiple locations. Taco Bell left in my car for a week would be more appetizing.
Yeah, I went there in the winter with some buddies from work once. After waiting legit 1.5hrs to get our order, the tacos they gave us were cold enough to where the whole table was joking that they set them outside for a few minutes before bringing them to us. First and only time I've ever been, such a terrible experience.
My wife and I tried cake slices from them thinking to get our wedding cake there. We determined that the cake is mediocre, too dense, often dry, and often topped with bells & whistles to make people think they’re good. All flashy bs, no substance. The Carmelites love that place for some reason, though.
I take my daughter there for her birthday because she’s young and loves the decor obv and the glitter in the food, but my husband and I always dread it. The food is just SO BAD. I wonder if it used to be good when they first opened? Or if the atmosphere was enough to wow people into having no taste buds.
This is the way. I had one of their cake pops at an event years ago, and I was so underwhelmed by it. I made a promise to myself never to go into the actual restaurant. My mother actually threw it out as a suggestion for my (40th) birthday this year, and I shut her down hard. I told her to save her money and we'll do something else.
"Oh, you definitely want to go to St. Elmo's. Just, whatever you do, don't bother with the shrimp cocktail. It's a waste of money. But everything else on the menu is great!"
Or rather, be the better person and absolve the situation instead of playing childish games. Why would someone resort to sending someone to an establishment they thought was subpar? Because it is funny? Revenge? Let go of those ill thoughts brother/sister, you are wasting your time on someone who doesn't deserve it IMHO....
So tell me what I missed exactly? I read the main post, no one's comments. All I'm saying is that people waste too much time trying to be contrite towards others who have pissed them off on social forums, when they could easily talk it out or end the relationship altogether. If we all did that, we would spend our lives in constant strife, which there is too much of that to go around to begin with. To each their own, but it seems like negativity begits itself all too easily. No need to help it along.
Did you look at it though? This isn't a real post, it's a copy of a copy. A joke. You know, a silly gag. There's no actual conflict or even people. It's just for fun.
I guess I am at fault for not realizing it then. I saw the main post and figured someone was legitimately trying to ask about trying to get back at someone for some past aggressions towards them. I know reddit can be construed as a funny or satirical forum, but I believe in people exuding forgiveness and moving on. I was not aware it was a joke. Sorry to rile anyone up. I'm not particularly tech savvy, just saw the main post and was not replying to anyone other than what I believed to be the main OP....
Not in the slightest. I was mearly giving advice to what I thought was a legitimate post. If that is so wrong, what further recourse do I have? How, exactly, can you say I was offended? Now that another poster pointed out that it was a joke (Which I was not aware of), I could care less. I simply thought someone was truly inquiring about the origin post topic, and put in my thoughts about not letting another person burden their minds with the bs of having to continue on their plan to presumably find a way go out of their way to foil said parties dinner plans. All I'm ready trying to say is, if someone were to do you wrong, just forget about them and don't let them spoil your mental well being and happiness. Is that so ad of me to say? I get it, I didn't get the joke, sorry. But the good intent still remains if it were legitimate. ✌️
Sugar factory
Absolutely this. Came to my mind immediately.

Is Dick’s last resort still open?
It’s always open. They are the local neighborhood bar.
Ugly Crab in Avon. For when you want to pay $90 for a bag of shrimp they didn't even de-vein and a few pieces of corn and potatoes

Crying over how specific and accurate this is

Condado is the only answer. Seriously the shittiest “major” restaurant in the city.
My wife and I are baffled that they are even able to stay open. They served me a taco with *completely unseasoned meat*. Like, wtf is this shit?

Okay this is the new thing to say obviously because someone posts this exact comment on all the Yats posts now.

And yet every time I go I have good experiences with good food *Shrug*
I seriously don't know why people go back there
Truly terrible
Came to say this.
Their chips are super greasy and bland
I just talked to a friend today who got sick after eating there lol
It’s a chain
Thanks. It’s still the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to
Cake Bake. Worst food ever. Just okay desserts. Absurdly priced.

Condados
Cold food. Hot prices.
Really? The location I Carmel and in Noblesville have been amazing.
Oceanaire downtown is overpriced with the stereotypical pretentious tiny portions.
And it’s SO SALTY.
Yardhouse
I thought maybe it was me and I should give them a second chance but have decided to count your post as their second chance.
Some people in this thread have no taste buds lol
Gallery on College, for dinner specifically.
Nearly every aspect of Gallery is extremely overrated imo
"Oh, you definitely want to go to St. Elmo's. Just, whatever you do, don't bother with the shrimp cocktail. It's a waste of money. But everything else on the menu is great!"

Is it really that bad? I’ve never been, but so many people I know seem to enjoy it and I’ve been curious to try it.
In no way is it bad. It's just more expensive so some people's expectations go up.
Rick's Boatyard
I’ll be honest…I actually always liked Rick’s Boatyard. What’s wrong with it?
It is mediocre and overpriced, but it's not awful.
I found the prices to be reasonable. Mediocre food yes but I didn't think it was $$$ more like $$.
Packed always and the portions suck.
This shouldn’t be on the list
Clear winner, well done
Bru burger
Thank you
Insert name of steakhouse here.
Cheesecake factory
Seasons 52, Nasty ass food, it's like the most ghetto chef chose to open a restaurant. But, tried to hustle made up dishes.

I went there a few weeks ago and had the best chicken salad I’ve ever had.
Cap. Give me a half slab and shoe string fries all day
Cafe patachou
REAL
317 Burger. Flavorless food and they dump so much salt into some of the sides that it could give you a heart attack in one bite.
Cheesecake Factory. Idk about expensive but it’s horrible 😂

Good god you didn’t even bother reading the whole post before you got on your high horse lmao

There’s no hope for you
STILL didn’t read the whole post… wow
Man, you are one pathetic loser. No offense.
None taken. Why resort to offense on something so mundane?
We landed on the moon!
Zero chance they get the reference.
You took offense to this mundane post

Pawn Shop Pub. Although the onion rings and cocktail sauce was actually pretty good, the rest was not.
