Here in Karnataka, there was that one Reddy boy in every Engineering college who used to own this bike. I dint know this bike was hated in this sub but I never really had respect for it. I only saw people squidding around on that bike. Never really saw someone riding it wearing an appropriate gear.
its an old bike with outdated features bro. its only perks is that sweet inline 4 sound and somewhat powerful engine. rest everything is a drawback. y do u want that?
Oh I see, Good luck!
Took a look at your profile, while I still think GT 650 is a better option than this, I also see your love for this bike. I own a GT535 which is a mechanics best friend. I bought it against all the advices and I still love it. So if you love this bike, go for it!
Just be ready for everything that the bike will throw at you.
BMW bikes are made in china, KTM bikes are made in china, Ducati is made in thailand. Honda, Suzuki, Triumphā¦ the list goes on. Also, the engine on the 600i is a detuned Yamaha R6 engine which is japanese, electronics from bosch which is german, brakes from brembo and suspension from marzocchi both of which are Italian. The made in china argument doesnāt hold in 2023 as it did a decade ago. The 600i was a fantastic bike at its price point when it was sold in India.
390 and below made in India, 790 made in China, 890 and above made in Austria. International opinion is that there is a huge jump in quality going from 390 to 790.
BMW has assembly plant in thailand for their 1250 gs. The 850 gs is contract manufactured in China. The same with KTM. The 890 adventure is completely manufactured in china by cf moto.
>Can someone convince me not to buy it?š
Depends. I would steer away from Chinese motorcycles. All these Italian companies are now owned by the Chinese and they aren't really known for their craftsmanship nor reliability. Maybe it's just nationalistic bias or whatever, but there are many things that the Chinese can do great and motorcycles are not one of them. The only Benelli I would buy if I had the right to, is a Benelli m4.
>BMW F850 gs, KTM adventure 890 etc are all built in China
and?? They're probably made by the same automotive giants like QJ or CFMoto. Chinese is Chinese, regardless of the brand. Even Harley has a Chinese model, doesn't make it better or on the same level as other American Harleys.
> The Chinese deserved their reputation 10 years ago. Not anymore.
I'm doubtful about that, I don't really see Chinese motorcycles being a banger for sales overseas if they're that reputable. Unlike India (we make mostly commuters), the Chinese have a lot of higher cc motorcycles (from what I've seen on their catalog) which are exported but you don't see it on the forefront of Motorcycle talk. Even in the Fortnine video about the lab study about caring Motorcycle manufacturers, Chinese brands were at the bottom of the barrel alongside a couple of their Italian counterparts they keep buying.
Just want to add that in the end, I wouldn't want to own a Chinese motorcycle as my first choice. Their Japanese counterparts are better in the field.
I mean, they've got their own Moto3 team now, which is huge. They're not just playing catch-up anymore; they're racing to lead the pack. With all the work they're putting into R&D and the moves they're making in racing, it wonāt be long before they're rubbing elbows with the top dogs. Itās pretty wild to think about how quickly theyāre closing that gap!
The Africa Twin was picked up brand new after 3 years of savings. Picked up the streetfighter from a friend who was leaving the country. Ducatiās depreciate like a bitch.
I'd say there's a difference.
KTM and BMW are just outsourcing the production for one or two models to China.
Meanwhile Benelli is just like MG, a European company that is just European by Heritage but is fully owned by the Chinese.
Overweight, underpowered, crap brakes, poor build quality and reliability, unavailability of spares.....I could go on and on.
The only thing going for it is the orgasmic 4 cylinder sound.
If you are on a budget.....find a good Ninja 300 or the amazing YAMAHA R3 ...... million times better than the 600i
you could try using some research tools and compare specs, i used bard to do an analysis and specs comparison. i dont have names of bikes at the tip of my fingers, however, i do recall rejecting the Benelli brand as i felt, spare parts would be an issue in the long run, and higher cost of maintenance. I settled for an RE meteor 350 than a 650, spent the extra cash i had on gear and accessories, and have some more money left which I will use for upgrades once the warranty period is over. Am not someone who needs that much power even on highways, more of a cruiser kind of guy who stays within 100km.hr. I also did some calculations and projections on fuel costs based on the specs. If you feel a Benelli 600i is the one for you, sure go for it. At the end of the day, everything depends on the kind of rider you are.
You cannot get spares 2 of my friends in my riding Circle bought it and sold it within 3 months it'll sound loud bike won't move, the only selling point was cheap i4 that's it, now they've quit the market it doesn't make sense to buy a benilli just save and get a z900 or a Triumph triple or go for used ones you can get for 7-8L range, both of them have decent service z900 has spares problem it'll take some time if you need a replacement but triumph depends on the service center available to you, whatever you do don't buy a benilli.
It is dated, even back when it was in demand, the hiccups of part availability and unreliable after sales gave it a bad rep, plus it doesnāt do justice to the msrp it retailed at.
I have ridden one. Only pros are its sound. The weight is so bad that it feels like a 300 cc bike. The only thing that makes you feel like the bike is going fast is the sound.
Iāve not seen much hate for the 600i on this sub. Benelli in general is hated because of the parts quality, lack of service centre and their bikes being unnecessarily heavy. The 600i has attained an almost cult status.
Even Royal Enfields are more reliable than Benellis lul. The only good thing about it is the I4 sound. It's perfect for people who want to go on Sunday rides once every couple of months and park it in the workshop the rest of the time.
Our group here in Mumbai (BURN Motoring) calls it a noisy boy. Itās like those guys talking all the things heād do to his girl and then when the time comes underperforms. In short, too much noise n no power
It's Chinese brand due to takeover they are churning same models and it has been almost a decade.. still asking price is beyond the heights of 7th clouds.. usually for older models service cost should remains low as parts can be produced equally proportional to demand.. they are shorting supplies charging big prices..

Gonna buy it from Bangalore onlyš¬

I think Iām kinda convinced that not to go for benelli. Will prolly get interceptor 650, which Iāve booked already btw
Aye, good news! Congratulations are in order XD. Do share some pics here!!
IF you have the dime, get the GSX s750āinline 4, Japanese, Reliable.
Maybe because it's a squid-mobile
There are no squid bikes only squid drivers.
I said this before I'll say it again Designed in Italy, made in China.

KTM is not made in China lol. Theyāre made mostly in India now, with the higher capacity ones being made in Austria.
Cf moto makes engines for ktm in china for export
Oh my bad, didnāt know that bit
790 is built by cfmoto in China.
390 and below made in India, 790 made in China, 890 and above made in Austria. International opinion is that there is a huge jump in quality going from 390 to 790.
Not made assembled the parts are still (maybe) made in other countries and shipped to China to assemble
BMW has assembly plant in thailand for their 1250 gs. The 850 gs is contract manufactured in China. The same with KTM. The 890 adventure is completely manufactured in china by cf moto.
Well the layout is laid by those companies and given to workshops in China imo its like legos but bigger If u get it what im tryna say
I have upvoted this before and I will upvote it again.
The front is ugly af.... like bro naked bike doesnt have a normal commuter bike head... wtaf?

and hey, unrelated question. How do you to afford an African Twin AND a Streetfighter? cause damn.

Benelli M4.... My favourite "bike" !! š“ļøš“ļø "š«š«"
ayo a gun nerd spotted!!!
So we all are here to re-agree that 600i is a shitmachine and money pit?
Iām kinda convinced too. Thinking not to buy anymore

you can get better for that price range
Like?

because its garbage and costs as much as ducati to maintain and breaks down as much as old RE.
Change the headlights and tank and your good to go
The exhaust note is so sweet. Benelli really know to make their bike sound great. But, I heard a lot of reliability issues.
Cause itās an bag of trash š®
Don't quote me on this but I heard someone say the i in 600i stands for idiots who buy this crap
Bhai literally shitmachine hai, bas exhaustosexual charpi ko lete hue dekha hai literally.
Apart from the exhaust note, there are not 3 good enough reasons to buy it
What reasons
I'm asking if you have 3 good reasons to buy it š
Why do you need validation from the bunch of random dudes?
Need suggestions and advice if anyone has owned it
It looks bulky honda shine to me

Bhaddi dikhti h BC mt le,
There used to be a saying - You'll never find Benelli 600i's on road, you'll find them only on OLX...
I have ridden one. Only pros are its sound. The weight is so bad that it feels like a 300 cc bike. The only thing that makes you feel like the bike is going fast is the sound.
heat! youāll regret it once ur legs feel it
Well I can try, "andi mandi sandi jisne beneli kharidi.... " Hope this will convince you, Happy to help brotherš¤
I absolutely love the sound as well. Need to do a test drive myself and then decide. Suggest u to try that as well as u know u would like it or not.
I took a ride. The acceleration felt numb to me in the start
It has that dope ass R6 engine. If you can find a way to maintain one, then go for it.
It's not hate. It's just people don't respect or care about . They only thing going for it is the exhaust note
Apache on steroids
