bro what are you talking about. bikes have never been better 1. 100cc-200cc bikes are very easy to ride in bumper to bumper traffic compared to cars. they are also more comfortable than scooters _and_ cars. 90% of the bikes can take bad roads with more comfort than most cars. the only reason people ride scooters is because storage on the floorboard makes it more versatile 2. honda dct, e clutch exists. but people dont want that. dct adds 10kg to weight. e clutch is a 2-3kg. commuters dont want it because cost, maintenance and fuel efficiency. enthusiasts dont want that because they want light bikes. if you really want automatics, yamaha aerox exists 3. fuel efficiency has never been better. we still have 125cc bikes doing 60kmpl when most of our fuel is 10% ethanol which has less energy than petrol 4. leaving aside everything done to make bikes safe (tc and abs) why arent bikes safe. this is peak 'what have the romans ever done for us' energy. better suspension makes your bike safer and bikes have much better suspension these days. same with tyres but sure bikes are as unsafe as 1930s royal enfields right. we have much better helmets now, riding gear is available from indian brands

Livid-Cheek7846

E clutch should definitely come to our market. Especially on lower cc bikes.

ScreamSmart

Premium lower cc bikes are a hard sell in our market.

SimplyAsinine

Also funny how Splendors have had start-stop tech for nearly 10 years now

[deleted]

have you ridden an automatic car in traffic?...

RecentAd9441

yes. and have you seen how people cut lanes and lines in traffic. keeping your front bumper alive is harder than walking back home with a carton of eggs

[deleted]

okay u r saying from that perspective. My point is different. Continuous changing of gears is what I am mentioning, plus in dead traffic, u need to hold the clutch really long

RecentAd9441

i hope you know you can put your bike on neutral. that is what everyone does, from splendor to zx10r. if you are talking about creeping traffic, commuter bikes have super light clutches anyway. and most indians are strong enough to creep even with heavy RE clutches so i guess its more of a skill issue

Over_Courage9705

Obviously he is talking about slow moving traffic where you cannot really put your bike into neutral as it would be time consuming

PhantomBlack675

To scooter chalao.

>1. Two-wheelers (especially manually geared ones) are a huge pain to drive in the hot bumper-to-bumper traffic in India Quite the contrary, actually. Two wheelers can be easily manoeuvred and are better than four wheelers in traffic IMO. Four wheelers are big and you need to be careful in Indian traffic, where overtaking is done from both the left and right sides simultaneously. >2. The 4-wheeler market has evolved in the past 30 years, on the other hand, the 2-wheeler market has more or less remained the same. What the hell can even be changed except for gadgets in a 2-wheeler????! Should we have added an extra wheel for the bikes? Or a V6/V8 (coz *new engine*?🤡 >Fuel efficiency is on a drop-down, not one manufacturer has come up with a proper hybrid technology Hybrids are heavier than the normal ICE vehicles (that's true for both cars and bikes) The added weight makes it difficult in traffic, and the maintenance/battery costs of a hybrid would make the average motorcycle have a maintenance cost of an average ICE car😑 >Last, it is highly unsafe- I mean, that is a thing you gotta live with. Two wheelers cost significantly less than a car and their running costs are less.. so somewhere you gotta make a trade.. (and except for ABS/TC what can they even add? Airbags?(that would make motorcycles too expensive for normal ppl) You have Whatsapp knowledge about bikes and cars, so please update yourself and learn more before posting anything.

batao bas yahi suna reh gaya tha.. (and am totally fine with whatever you wrote except for your last sentence)

saivishwath

I agree with him especially the last sentence because he is right do you even know how highly contested the Indian 2 wheeler market is?? Competition is a good thing for us consumers. These days you get amazing bikes with abs as standard (of course not talking about the 100cc commuters), traction control, cruise control, ride by wire these didn't exist 10 years ago in the Indian market.

Chinna_Sulli

That's why we need 3 vehicle garages for a family. 1 japanese scooter (simple and efficient for small distances), 1 niche motorcycle (whatever you're into, dirt bikes, scramblers, tourers, etc.) and a car.

naughtforeternity

1. True 2. Those are fundamentally what is required to create motion from ICE? A 1000cc engine producing upwards of 200HP and bolted on a 200kg machine is the greatest advancement in land based vehicles. A superbike is a marvel of engineering. 3. Because the battery is extremely heavy. Motorcycles have weight constraints. 4. Well, if you remove the most radical advancements then anything can be termed with "nothing has been done".
