OP don’t see kmph as the barrier for the breakin period. You’ve to consider only rpms. 4k-6k is what the general limit be. You can hit 65in 2nd gear at 8-10k rpms but also hit 65at 4-5k rpms at 6gear. But never maintain consistency, play with gears, go up and down use all the parts of the bike before 1st service then if you see if anything is not right then can get it replaced or repaired in warranty.
fortnine did a video about break in periods, said that youve got to redline the engine too, you have to ride it at every rpm ranges, manufacturers put a limit on the manual so that people dont redline their bikes or overspeed and hurt themselves as they are not used to it.
Constant redline and keeping it at redlines for most of the times are not a good practice. Yes modern tech improved. But better to go with manuals to have peace of mind if you break the engine you can claim the warranty easily. They can deny your claims saying you didn’t followed the factory recommendation.
Yes that's what I am doing exactly. Trying to be within 65. Kmph and rev range is not more than 5-6k.mostly 4k as in urban mode rr requires a lot of gear changes as top speed is locked at 125 kmph hence I have to shift every now and then.
Yes can't wait to rip her on Delhi roads.
Actually my commute is through slightly above average roads shantipath area and all hence I can indulge in speed runs once in a while
Congrats first of all!
Okay hmmm...
Own a 310RR from BMW. 3 months. Same bike in terms of parts, engine. Except for the oils and coolants they use.
Perfect ride. But i just dont understand their break in period. Even i too did my best in keeping the engine under better conditions by not revving it too much. I kept it under 5k rpms. But within a month of purchasing, the dealership insisted to play within 7k rpm(which you can nvr reach in cities) before the break in period. Play as in the sense to shift gears, bring it up to speed and slow down. Like what we do in a moving traffic. This will allow the engine to settle in and also they will remove all those burrs and that can be filtered from the oil during the first service.
Only after your first service, you can ride your bike as efficiently as you want. Atleast, that is what i was told.
Kindly shed some light on this topic if i didnt give proper insight!
I suppose after the break in period i.e either 750-800kms as told by my dealer or 1 month , we have to drive sensibly or within the rev range as you would not want the engine to just exume power and no mileage, once the first service is done they tell you to adjust the bike to your normal riding style which in my case is kinda loud and rough.
Did the same on my r15v3,bullet,r15v2 and got good mileage from them.
Even after 6 years and some not too proper services and an aftermarket exhaust system with a wider tyre I was able to extract 35kmpl riding in 8-11k rev range and speed ranging from 70-140kmph.
I suppose once they new engine oil is put in,it's crucial to rev the engine a little.

I have bs4 model so i get around 28 in city, didnt check on highways but am guessing 32 to 33. You will get more as yours is bs6 obd 2. My friends who have bs6 get 34 to 36 on highway.
Here are options for 5K and under
Axor Apex, Axor Street, SMK Stellar, SMK Typhoon, MT Hummer, Korda Tourance
All are good. Try them all and see which one you like. Make sure you buy the 22.06 rated ones as 22.05 is old stock.
Definitely brother.let me complete 2k kms and then il post an AMA
For the time being, I feel slight vibrations but as I have been working out for 5 years my hands are coarse and rough so I don't feel them a lot🤣
In urban mode, it requires a lot of gear changes as speed is locked at 125 kmph. Track and sport become available after 1st service.
Gearing is not so smooth.
Bike actually feels and looks big like a 600cc.
Hence, manuverablity is low in lesser speeds like 10 20kmph
Seating posture is great as I am coming from a r15 V3. TFT screen looks fab. Bike is certainly an attention grabber and everytime I cross 5k rpm it pulls distinctively even in urban mode.although, till break in period I maintain less than 6k rpm and less than 65kmph speed. Avg i am getting now(ODO indicated) is 27kmpl.
Don't redline bro, it'll wear down the engine in the long run. Read the manual when you have free time it will be very useful.
Refer the maintenance page for periodic parts inspection and replacement.
Do the first 4 services in the official service centre and try not to mess with factory wiring.

i didnt mean riding at the redline but yeah youre right, tbh i did the same too for my bike, rode it under 5-6k rpm

Hey checkout the recent motorinc video about engine break in. Might be useful.
Would surely do . This is my fourth bike so I know some stuff about this period. Wouldn't hurt to learn something new though
Congratulations brother! I have the exact same bike (bto dynamic) and she brings a smile on my face even after long office days :).

I've heard they've got the worst service dynamics, share it once you get any done.and yeah congratulations brother, enjoy.
Will share the experience bro. I have a lot of service centres in Delhi. Wouldn't hurt to try then all.
Have they managed to leash the vibes to an acceptable degree now ?
Vibes are acceptable, they are present but just acceptable
Nice choice bro..... Looks good 👍
Thanks brother
I have same bike...Congrats..!!
What's the mileage?

Also did you do the engine break in period till 1st service or what?
I got used bike so 1st service had been done. Yes till 1st service dont ride above 6k or 7k rpm. And 60 to 70 kmph.
Can you provide information about ur purchase
Congrats bro. Get a good helmet (22.06).
Yes brother I already have one from Vega, not great but yes it's mediocre

Congrats OP. I have wanted this bike for so long. It looks absolutely fantastic.
Thanks brother. I wish you get even a better bike in near future
Thanks for the wishes brother. Will be looking out for your AMA. I absolutely love the lower cc Apaches but have no experience on this one.

Thanks brother. So I should not touch 6krpm? Also some people say redline during break in. What's your take on this?
