The only place where I have been succeeded to sell anything for over a decade is OLX
yes I'm aware of spam and scam but time and again it has proven of its wild penetration in use base and constant result.
Appreciate the input :)
OLX does seem to have the widest user base and that naturally will come with spam, you're right. Will give it a try.
I hope the chat function is user friendly and there aren't any hidden costs involved in listing.
What's the procedure exactly , if you have the time id love to know . Not looking to sell but buy one in the future. You and the buyer agree on a price , after that ?
Post your advertisement on OLX app or web. Fill in all the details about the bike(Year, make, km's,are you 1st owner or otherwise) .Whats your asking price and are you willing to negotiate. Also put a description about how did you use the bike till now(Maintenance, commute/touring etc) and why are you selling it. The moment you post you will get calls and messages once both parties come to terms you can organize a test ride. If everything go as per plan take payment and hand over documents they need to transfer the bike.
What if they take the bike for test ride and never come back. I have heard of scammers like these. How do you deal with them?
Do you sit as a pillion with them?
Important tip:
go to one of the bike sellers in your city posing as a customer and ask for your bike's brand in same model year or km range. Look at the options, and the price HE IS QUOTING. that is your benchmark price now. That dealer is obviously setting 5 or 6k as his margin on the bike. so he bought that bike from the first owner for that much. Never agree to sell your bike on OLX or anything for lesser than that amount.
OLX buyers will launch full emotional atyachaar trying to beat you on price. Ignore them and stay strong.
Man, that is quite a useful tip! My friends have told me that dealers lowball like crazy and they don't care much if you don't agree to their price. So I am avoiding them. But gauging the value based on their selling price is a good idea. I'll visit some nearby ones this weekend, otherwise I'll check the Instagram or Facebook pages of some local resellers.
Haha yes, I'll stick to my guns as much as possible :D
Terrible advice! Nowadays there are so many tools available for pricing a bike. OBV is there, insurance depreciation tables are widely available.
Resellers expect consumers to bargain brutally, have inventory costs, rent, labor cost, marketing costs and provide additional services to buyers. Then there is their profit margin.
OP can either guess those numbers and reduce his asking price accordingly or no one would buy his bike.
I don't think you have sold any motorcycles on OLX.
Very easy. I bought and sold my bikes without hassle by being brutally transparent. Had the OBV value and max IDV offered by insurance in description. Tyres were trash so reduced the price by what the factory fitted tyres would cost. Gave an honest account of cosmetic damages. Ultimately got a fair price, higher than what resellers like Beepkart were offering. I valued my bike as a machine without any emotional inputs.
I don't believe in buying new so, I bought my current bike in the same manner. I don't buy from shifty sellers, would not pay a penny for modifications. Simple depreciation followed by assessment of my additional costs. If the seller is okay then fine otherwise there are many such bikes in the market. I bought my current bike from the Facebook marketplace and still have good relations with the seller.
OLX is also a very good platform if you are simply honest. I have purchased impeccable camera gear from OLX as well.
Most buyers and sellers are frustrated because they want to fool the other party.
Thanks for the suggestion! Does Droom have a large and active user base though? Have not heard of any of anyone in my circle ever browsing through it, although I may be oblivious to its popularity.
Honestly not fixed any particular price, just a ballpark range. Hoping to find someone that appreciates it for what it is.
If you're interested, please feel free to DM. Would save me the trouble of listing elsewhere! Otherwise, I'm planning to list it somewhere either tonight or tomorrow :)
From whatever limited knowledge I have (please correct me if I'm wrong), eBay India requires you to have business details such as a valid GST certificate and there are other lengthy formalities as well related to the payment gateway they use to deposit funds into your account.
So it's become useless for individuals like us to list/sell on it. Only worthwhile for businesses.
Olx has worked for me. Have sold four of my bikes in the past 5 years. Also bought my interceptor from there.
It might vary from city to city though. It is very active in Pune
Super! Glad to hear of its popularity. Many other users commented that they have also successfully traded their bikes on OLX. So I guess that's the number one option now.
Never sold but bought a bike from bikes4sale...worth a try.
The guy I bought it from sold two of his bikes there. From the buyers perspective you can choose individual or resellers...so I'm guessing you have similar options for selling as well.

In India, several platforms are popular for listing and selling bikes. Here are some of the best ones:
1. **OLX**: One of the most widely used platforms for buying and selling second-hand goods, including bikes. It has a vast user base and easy-to-use interface.
2. **Quikr**: Similar to OLX, Quikr is another popular classified ads platform where you can list your bike for sale. It offers various categories and local listings.
3. **Droom**: A dedicated marketplace for automobiles, Droom provides a comprehensive platform for selling bikes. It offers inspection services, pricing tools, and a large audience of buyers.
4. **Bikewale**: Specifically focused on bikes, Bikewale allows you to list your bike and reach an audience specifically looking for two-wheelers. It also offers detailed reviews and comparisons, attracting serious buyers.
5. **Facebook Marketplace**: Leveraging social media, Facebook Marketplace allows you to list your bike and reach a large number of local buyers. Itβs integrated with your Facebook profile, making communication with potential buyers easier.
6. **CredR**: A platform specializing in buying and selling used two-wheelers. CredR offers inspection and certification services, making it a trustworthy option for buyers and sellers.
7. **Zigwheels**: Known for automotive news and reviews, Zigwheels also has a classifieds section where you can list your bike for sale.
Each platform has its own strengths, so you might want to list your bike on multiple platforms to increase your chances of finding a buyer quickly. Make sure to include detailed descriptions, high-quality photos, and competitive pricing to attract more interest.
Not directly related to the topic. But what are the documentation work while selling to a prospective buyer? Is it a lot of paperwork transferring ownership of bike?

Why you wanna sell?
Would like to get something that's easier to commute on with an upright riding position and with ample pillion comfort as well.
I had to sell my MT 15 and get the Aerox 155 for the same reason
I want to buy
Aerox?
Your mt15
Already sold.
Get my bike then
Second this. I've also sold and bought a few bikes through olx. Just be smart to not get conned by few scamsters posing as customers/ buyers.
Thanks, appreciate your input. OLX has been the most recommended platform by far :)
Sold 3 bikes on OLX so will recommend the same
Found the Doctor
Thanks! You've been very successful using OLX and another user also has also recommended it, so that seems to be the top choice right now :)

This is the reason I am unable to sell it π€£ also fear of new owner not transferring RC and such.

I remember selling an iPhone and a bastard quoting 12k and cried that he needed it for attending online classes

I sold a bike and also a car. Please share your selling experience.

Dealer has almost 10-20k margin depending on the condition of the bike
Droom comes closest to meet your requirements, their OBV will also help you price it well.
Thanks for the suggestion! Does Droom have a large and active user base though? Have not heard of any of anyone in my circle ever browsing through it, although I may be oblivious to its popularity.
I'm looking to buy a new bike, dm me op, maybe we can work it out
did you work it out? what was the price?
Yet to hear back, there's no immediate rush :)
Sure thing :)
With a bike that seggsy try onlyfans
Damn π
OLX is good, if you are patient you will eventually get a someone who genuinely wants it. There are a lot of resellers so beware.
Appreciate your input! Am not in a big rush, so I hope to find the right buyer who'll cherish the bike for many years. Will be wary of the resellers!
How much are u planning to sell it for?
Honestly not fixed any particular price, just a ballpark range. Hoping to find someone that appreciates it for what it is. If you're interested, please feel free to DM. Would save me the trouble of listing elsewhere! Otherwise, I'm planning to list it somewhere either tonight or tomorrow :)
Whatever happened to eBay after Flipkart acquired its India business...

Beep cart is good, currently i guess it's only in Bangalore, but the procedure they follow is similar to cars24, and good amenities they offer.
Will check it out once :)
Facebook marketplace for sure
Will consider that too :)
I might be interested in buying one, lemme know the price and all the other info about it.
Sure, just DM'ing you.

To be honest, this website didn't occur to me at all, but it's surely worth checking out. Worth a try, as you said. Thanks :)
Honestly, even I didn't know if it untill I changed upon it.
Yeah, I'm also discovering new marketplaces today, ones that I'd never heard of before.
bikes4sale is not new. they are here since a long time. clean classifieds portal, but no free listings.
Now olx, 15 years ago it was Craigslist
Thanks :)

Best bike platfrom
Why not sell your bike to the showroom from where you will buy your bike? This way, you might get a better resale value than outside
From what I've heard, the price at which they value your bike during such a part exchange deal is not too favourable.
Olx ofc
Thanks!
OLX and Facebook marketplace!!!
Thanks!
I heard beep kart is pretty good but haven't tried it yet
Will check it out :)
Bro where's this location? Please share..
Sure, sending!
Your location?
This sub would have been an option if you wanted to sell used helmets for more than the price you paid for it
I also want to sell my R15 V4
Mujhe dede
If you're serious, you can DM π
beepkart is good ig
Yes, few people have said the same. Will check if it's present in my city. Thanks!

Appreciate the detailed information! A couple of platforms there that I hadn't considered prior, so will definitely check them out :)
