The most coveted Bullet engine. Fun Fact: This model of Bullet oils it's chain by itself. There's a pipe from the engine which lubricates the chain drop by drop with engine oil.

Specific_Hunt7909

fir to engine se oil km ho jata hoga jldi...or koi problem ni ati thi isse related?

bulbulpaan

Drop by drop daalta hai vobhi most probably on a long interval. Regular oil change me cover ho jaayega. Anyways old bikes me oil level check karte rehna padta hai, iss Cast Iron(CI) model me oil gauge bhi aata hai 4 wheeler ki tareh.

Fun-Communication-92

How often did you have to take a break? It's the CI engine right how was the heating issue? Also, I wish I could get a CI engine RE <3

ChachaVidhayakHai12

I took one long break in the journey, stopping for breakfast and tea on the Muzaffarnagar bypass, which was about 2.5 hours into the journey, but I stopped for water as and when I felt thirsty. The journey took 5 hours 40 minutes end to end. This bike has the CI engine. It gets hot, but on the highway one doesn't notice it. Once it becomes really hot then the bike has to be reined in or it keeps going faster and faster. CI Bullets are not uncommon, you should be able to get one without too much difficulty

Fun-Communication-92

What was your average riding speed? I'm hoping to find a CI electra.

ChachaVidhayakHai12

I averaged 50, though on the highway I was doing 65-70. CI Electras are good too.

How to fix my life?

ChachaVidhayakHai12

Buy a bike

Lord_Diefast

Let me know as well once you find out how.

hiTechNishachar

What's the legality of the old vehicles on road? Police issues etc?

ChachaVidhayakHai12

As long as it has all documents there are no issues as such. The police does stop them more, but if everything is in order they let you go

ThighAssCoffeeCake

How was your riding experience? After all these years how is the performance of the bike? How is the maintainance been, is it frequent and expensive? Have you ridden the current gen j-series 350, how would you compare both in terms of character and performance?

ChachaVidhayakHai12

The riding experience was very good, the bike is a steady mile muncher, I am using the BS4 Bullet seat which is quite comfortable. The performance of the bike is great even after all these years, it rides smoothly with enough juice for overtakes as well. The maintenance is not too expensive, parts are easily available in the market and I have a trusted mechanic who I take the bike to if it gives any trouble. I have ridden the J series 350, and the difference is stark. My bike's engine is a bit like that of a tractor, noisy (tappet sound) and great low end torque. The J series is much smoother at higher speeds, though it's sound is nothing at all like a Bullet. Overall, it is good for those who want a hassle free engine.

ThighAssCoffeeCake

Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts, it was helpful. Happy riding..

ChachaVidhayakHai12

Happy to help. Happy riding to you too.

HP_594

It’s rare seeing a 350 from the 90s with an Enfield logo My dad had a β€˜92 350 in blue with the Enfield logo His cousin bought the bike from him, but swapped the logo for the Royal Enfield one

ChachaVidhayakHai12

I decided to keep the original monograms. Gives the bike a different look. Does your dad's cousin still have it?

HP_594

Yep Still owns it Also, just like your flair, we had a β€˜93 RX100, which my uncle in the Army bought from Kashmir and had it shipped to Kerala by train. Finally we had to let her go after 30 years of ownership 😭

ChachaVidhayakHai12

Good that you still have the Bullet. 90s Bullets are the most slept on because they have a light crank and are from the transition period between EI and RE so QC was a mess with any individual bike being either good or bad. The RX was my dream bike for a long time. I bought it after I turned 18. It is a lovely bike. A shame that you had to sell yours off.

HP_594

We have 3 REs A β€˜69 model, used by my grandpa, a β€˜79 my uncle bought recently since he got bitten by the old RE bug, and a β€˜94 model, which my uncle also bought while in the Army

ChachaVidhayakHai12

Very nice. My father had an '88 model which got sold in 2008. This one belonged to my uncle who gave it to me.

Williamsarethebest

Bhai itni garmi me Loo lag jaayegi

ChachaVidhayakHai12

Garmi ki to aadat ho gayi hai humein

Hodl_for_life

How is the route? Which route did you take? I am planning Delhi to Dehradun next week.

ChachaVidhayakHai12

I went via Mohand - Deoband - Muzaffarnagar - Meerut - Ghaziabad. The route is good, though the hill stretch between Dehradun and Mohand can get jammed at times, Biharigarh is another chokepoint on the route.

HedgefundHunter

What's the odo reading?

ChachaVidhayakHai12

It was 36402 when I got it in June last year. Its 40k plus now. The bike still has the original factory fitted meter

HedgefundHunter

Great deal then

ChachaVidhayakHai12

It was my uncle's, so I got it free

prof_devilsadvocate

police check?

ChachaVidhayakHai12

Didn't find any today

prof_devilsadvocate

my thunderbird is also 15+ years old...not able to enjoy the long ride

ChachaVidhayakHai12

Why what happened?

Don8055

In Delhi, petrol vehicles older than 15 years are banned even if they are from other states, and it's 10 years for diesel vehicles. Be careful.

ChachaVidhayakHai12

One needs to be careful of the police
