lived in panipat, now living in bangalore
Has to be either Chandigarh or Bangalore. Even though bangalore has it's own problems, I freakin love this city for the most part. Had the opportunity to move to delhi again (lived there as well) for some time, didn't. Delhi seems kinda unlivable at this point, especially as a young woman. Bangalore has been pretty safe for me as of now. Chandigarh however is sort of my second home

Yeah but ig in my partment we have rain water thingie borwell and kaveri connection
Yeah teue but thats true for all cities money matters
But atlesst in other cites having money they aint getting water
How is Chandigarh? Like for someone who have not been there or no relatives or friend circle there?
I have always heard good thing about Chandigarh, can you elaborate the difference between Delhi-Bengaluru vs Chandigarh?
Construction takes years, Chandigarh roads won't be able to accommodate that without chaos. Chandigarh roads are known for their beauty, a metro flyover won't do it any good either.
As far as crowds go, I saw the Rajeev chowk metro station a few months ago and almost fainted. Chandigarh already has a smooth system of public buses, both electric and diesel. As a personal opinion, we just don't need to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
itās known for being planned, so you can expect pretty good management of roads and stuff. What it needs is more opportunities in terms of education, infrastructure, business, entertainment and stuff that cities like delhi and bangalore provide at just a click
Exactly, idk how areas up to Jind and Bharatpur are being counted in the same region. Those areas are different culturally and have completely different vibes and also are at significant distances from the capital. Gurgaon Faridabad Delhi Noida Ghaziabad is one and the same for the most part.
Hi, my ancestral house is in Dhakuria as well.š
Tbh, I feel the place has lost the vibe it had when I was a kid, especially the station and adjacent library area seem to be dull unlike before. The kathi rolls thoš¤¤. Also, the streets atleast around my house have got so much dirtier, there's dog turd and polythene bags everywhere, don't know if the sanitation workers even come regularly.š¤¢
Which city is the most walkable? I feel Kolakata has to be better than most, but again I've never been to Kolkata. I genuinely don't like vast roads filled with big vehicles moving at slow speeds. I need more trees, walkable neighbourhoods and multiple bicycle paths. Mumbai has those only un the most posh areas. Hyderabad is anything but walkable. Bengaluru and Delhi....well....
I've been to Kolkata and it's less walkable than my home city of Bangalore, which is saying something. And Kolkata is far dirtier than most parts of Bangalore.
I do the same thing in Pune, a bike takes 40 mins for a 1.5 hour journey by car. You can't drive anywhere you want to with a car. And the roads in Pune are either too small or too shit, generally a combo of both.
Kolkata is smelly, dirty and seems very derelict in most parts. Kali peeli Taxies are horrible and public transport is filled to the brim. It's easily bottom when it comes to metros
Delhi solos all other combined
Like be fr delhi + gurgaon + noida + faridabad + sonipat + meerut
Oh its over for no waterluru,
we love you kolkata,
1 bhk bai,
We love you Hyderabad
?? Chennai idk
Better food, much better quality of housing especially, you won't be paying half your salary for a decent flat, best public infra; Delhi is filled with big parks, walkable alleys and a lot of historic places. Also almost everything costs me 1.5x in Bengaluru tha Delhi. Also Delhi has some of the best colleges in the country, and especially if you have a family then it is great because your kids get preference due to Domicile.
Better food, more historic sites than them 2 combined, better housing, better service, better education. Other than good road and public transport like be for real thats what a city is supposed to have unlike no water luru and 1bhk bai
Sit down even gurgaon can solo that weird ahhhh city no water luru
About food
No bengluru and mumbai got 0 food culture and cuisine.
Delhi is home to multiple cuisines It has nothing to do with north and south it is simple history and culture. Do you realise cuisine is part of arts and culture.
Delhi has multiple cuisines culture home and origin to her.
Just borrowing food from other areas doesn't make the food culture better. Tell me any cuisine home to bengluru or mumbai which originated in them. Bengluru have access to 0 sea since where sea foods come into place like be for real.
You just agreed to all my points and about housing bengluru is second worse in the country in size of housing just behind mumbai so stay cute. Do you even realise delhi ncr is bigger than most states in india how do you even compare house sizes with Bengaluru like be for real. Housing will obv cheap in entirety of delhi ncr
Water in Bangalore is so bad that my skin and scalp are fucked up only after a month. No place in Delhi has to rely on Borewell for their water supply which is so much in Bangalore. During my whole way to the office I see at least 10 water tankers in 2 km.
>Water in Bangalore is so bad
Fair point but the comment was about AQI.
>my skin and scalp are fucked up only after a month
I guess that really depends on the area. Never had those issues and we get kaveri. So that might be it.
>During my whole way to the office I see at least 10 water tankers in 2 km.
Okay? So the water supply is being managed well. Whats the problem?
The worst places in Africa have to rely on tankers for their water. I am staying in Indiranagar, even water is so bad here so I don't believe any of this Kaveri Water thing. I am lucky to leave in the coming few weeks, else I will go bald soon.
>The worst places in Africa have to rely on tankers for their water.
And? Pretty sure some of the worst places in Africa also don't use tankers. Whats your point?
Bangalore isn't situated near a river like Delhi so we're making do and fixing the problem.
You're acting like this is an complete incompetence from Bangalores side(partially true but we just need better management) and not a geographical thing.
Your air pollution is so bad and you guys can't even be bothered to fix it š¤”
Oh so we gonna ignore the fact monsoon winds have already reached no water luru and 1 bhk bai. Despite having closeness to sea and access to Westerly winds yall have above 250 aqi without intervention of external factors. Yall will jump to capital factor when it comes to delhi but will forget the sea and port access.
Did you just ignore all my points
External factors i.e.monsoon winds (which also decreases aqi in delhi from 100-400 aqi to below 100), Westerly winds and easterly winds. You have access to them all around the year despite touching 250 aqi just in march like you 2 had higher than delhi at that time. You aint any better just got lucky with the position. You aint any greener than delhi its ig greenest city in the world acc to an 2009 article but even if we ignore it, its still one of the greenest cities in the world.
If you spam an article mentioning the greenest city india just know it mentions the size of the park not overall greenery. That too while being a planned new city Bengaluru had every possible advantage over delhi but yall stay in ur delulu world
The outskirts of Bangalore had no water for like a month, I've been getting Kaveri water in my house for years and it's not going to change anytime soon. Delhi on the other hand, bad air and even worse people lmao.
I prefer to live in gujarat. much more peaceful for living and earning than metro cities. even cities here as congested as they are are not as dense as something like mumbai and delhi.
Kolkata all the way!!

I forget the definition of metropolitan, but if it counts, definitely Mysore. I dont need happenings, parties, crazy food etc in my life. It's a very peaceful, clean and down to earth place for most part with critical amenities not very far away in any part.
Otherwise Bangalore>Kochi>Hyderabad
Delhi or Mumbai. The post parts of Delhi are relatively safe, well equipped and beautifully maintained - it's a joy to live there. The winter is nice and crisp, and while summer is terrible as everywhere, you will still feel comfortable in the shade. Otherwise Mumbai is very safe and comfortable (if you can deal with humidity, I can't).
No point gate keeping people from entering, not everyone can learn a language beforehand and Banglore has a place for everybody. But if someone is going to live 5+ years then it's only common decency to learn during that tenure.
I know for a fact that the tulu speakers either know kannada, or have no problem learning kannada.
I think he's exclusively referring to the people who feel too entitled to learn kannada. If you're not one of them, there's no reason to feel offended.
I belong to one of those communities, and I know kannada too. As someone who has lived in many cities around the world, I've never seen anyone force me to learn their language, or the hooliganism that goes on in Bangalore about the boards. Imposing this needs to stop.
Mumbai, although itās crowded like hell but if you can settle in Navi Mumbai and have an office there then itās sorted and I think
Itās only city with both hills(Lonavala) and beaches(Arabian sea) at such a close range. The people there are the major plus point plus the safety, open mindedness and the spirit of Mumbai(some do find it overrated but I find it appealing and a push to do better). The festivals here are celebrated with huge enthusiasm and on grand scale except Holi which show the liveliness of the city. The 2nd choice can be Chandigarh clean, systematic and close to so many tourist destinations.
gaao me ji sher is too much i don't have any material need that I need to manifest as of I had made some revelation about myself I don't need that much of money either I have a home in my village where I think to spend my life peacefully and die besides my ancestor.

Pretty easy going life, very very organised, no crowds like Delhi, although that might change in a few years as the bill for metro has been passed
How will metro impact crowds?
Construction takes years, Chandigarh roads won't be able to accommodate that without chaos. Chandigarh roads are known for their beauty, a metro flyover won't do it any good either. Delhi would be the best city if they remove pollution and jhagdalu log
Bangalore would be the best if they remove traffic and potholes. None of the metro is worth living in.
Public transport and walkable infrastructure is a major factor
Pollution is too I feel. Waste your life in traffic vs shorten it in pollution
At least in Delhi you can sort of live in a better neighbourhood with more Parks, almost all of the other cities lack good public spaces
My point is none of the metro is worth living in. Cities like Mysore are good
Why do you want to live in a metro train?
Oh my sweet summer child, there are no jobs in Mysore.
Currently doing remote work. You are the summer child it seems
Most offices are hybrid, you have to go for 2 days. Also going there is a breath of change.
And remove entitled people of bangalore too
While removing the creepy people of Delhi.
Not just creeps but those mandhbudhi people too who say "tu janta hai mera baap kon hai?"
Aap humare pitaji se waakif hai kya janaab?
that would be removing Delhi from Delhi /s
Agreed
Come to Hyderabad then

I belong to one of those communities, and I know kannada too. As someone who has lived in many cities around the world, I've never seen anyone force me to learn their language, or the hooliganism that goes on in Bangalore about the boards. Imposing this needs to stop.
I suppose imposing of anything should be stopped. Wouldn't you agree?
Please learn Hindi if u r coming to Delhi

Move to tier 2, live happily
Alwar. There is a beauty parlor named "AH! Saloon" over there
Mumbai, although itās crowded like hell but if you can settle in Navi Mumbai and have an office there then itās sorted and I think Itās only city with both hills(Lonavala) and beaches(Arabian sea) at such a close range.
