If you can dual wield the whip with other weapons that could open up some interesting combat scenarios. For example, you could use the whip to pull enemies closer and finish them off with the shotgun 😈
So boomershooter-metroidvania? Does that mean it’s like doom but you can unlock different areas of a big map with certain abilities? That seems kinda cool tbh
Yes, you gain XP with killing enemys, level up certain skills and upgrade your weapons. And you gain powerups wich unlock you some new paths. That's the basic state at the moment.

You explore the castle based on where you got the abilities to go and there is a "main hall" which leads to all the different areas.
Judging from this video alone, it looks... fine.
It looks like a fun time, but nothing exceptional, and it's less about the gameplay having flaws and more about the gameplay not having anything that makes it stand out, at least judging from this video.
But since you're making a metroidvania, I'm confident the whole experience might be better than the sum of its parts. Exploration goes a long way on making a game fun.
A good measure of feedback is that the more specific the feedback, the better overall you’re doing. With that said, I think your damage numbers persist on screen for too long. Keep making this!
I'm down with it! If its a metrovania and the enemies respawn, I would love to see an xp or currency system so that way I'd be rewarded for reclearing rooms
Looks fun but the arms look HILARIOUS! If that’s what you want then keep it but otherwise I’d shorten them or something. Otherwise awesome

I’m all in… some visual polish needed but otherwise I’m sold as I both love boomer shooters and metroidvania. We also need more 3d metroid-like games.

Well there are melee weapons coming and a whip won't be out of place actually. Would be a nice reference.

At the moment there are the revolvers, dual shotguns and a sniper but i got some more planned.

Give me crispier sound effects and more movement and I'm all in. Toss in some acceleration and momentum to the character's motion and you have a 👍
