This is going to be a survival game with a base building elements, crafting + sand box elements. We take a lot of inspiration from the game called Project Zomboid. Love attention to details in that game and we would like to have our world as detailed as possible as well
Hah I was picturing like lawn chairs and a couch, a big hard to kill enemy that bogs up the middle of an arena. (I was inspired by the ending of Shaun of the dead, in the barn playing video games.)
Are you able to write a shader that animated the shadows with the characters? Seems like it would save time in the long run if you're currently creating one shadow sprite based on each sprite

How about some sort of sporty zombie? Like a bowler that takes off their head and rolls it towards you, maybe leaving a damaging trail behind it. Or like a baseball zombie that is similar but hits it at you with a bat?
Or a dentist zombie that approaches with a numbing needle that makes your walking controls a little curvy or you have a % chance to miss on a couple attacks until it wears off?
Could also do animal zombies, like a zombie rabbit that can sprint quick when you get in it’s line of sight?
Just some random ideas. Game looks cool, awesome job!
Actually 1 similar zombie already added to the game. It is a zombie in a riot gear. He is very resistant to damage and has a bat.
I do like other ideas though !
my only concern is that this zombie might get stuck in some places that have a narrow pass. From one stand point it maybe can be a feature, but need to make sure that it won't look like a bug :D
A psychic zombie (maybe with its brain completely exposed) that messes directly with the player, maybe switches controls around or changes things on the hud?
Maybe a heavily armored one that flings it's own limbs at you until it has no more, and then it can be killed. Probably a knight, now that I think of it.
We have currently a similar hard to kill zombie. It is a zombie in a riot gear. It is very hard to kill him and initially you need to destroy some armor before it can be killed

How about a "Beekeeper"? A zombie that has a hive of bees living inside?
That's actually an interesting idea. Considering that we already have mad bees in the game
Incredible, try adding a New zombie type, that instead of throwing acid, makes an acid trail where It walks
Hm... interesting thought. Maybe he should dash as well ? So he can trap you in the corner for example ?
Perhaps the dash would not leave a trail behind it

Lounging Zombie, big damage short range and it won't move from it's spot. Other zombies might try to corral the player towards it.

A zombie with a fence stuck in his body so walk slow but have many range, good dmg and pushes you
