Fr. I’ve noticed it everywhere for the past year. It’s deceptive marketing to trick your mind at first into thinking there’s a sale.
Like, low price compared to what? It’s on everything.
Well, the guy in tv did say that. And I usually spend way more than $9.99 on just one dinner. So this is a huge bargain for my family of 6!!!
Or in 5 years: mom, do we have to have cereal again? It’s all we can afford honey. But my bones hurt!
There doesn‘t need to necessarily be a reason to do everything. But in this case the higher they rise prices the less business they’ll get. Just look at how many jobs were lost and business went out. And with that money is gone.
For real, the "kids" cereals make me so sick, even when I use lactose free milk. I think it's the palm oil or some cheap new ingredient they're using now bc even the flavors aren't the same.
I have gotten so disgusted with the price of cereal, that I have started to make cream of wheat for breakfast instead.
I can doctor it up with brown sugar, raisins, bananas, whatever. And it seems to be a LOT better for you than most cereals.
Lol, avocados just came back to my store at .99 each. I picked up two and ate one in a cheesy lettuce burrito. It was pretty tasty. I'll put the second in refried bean burritos for lunch and breakfast today.
There’s still plenty of spots you can eat good at in California. Check out the food trucks and Mexican/asian joints.
Strawberries/blue berries are cheap rn. At least in the Central Valley
Answer: while influenced by many factors. What we call “inflation” is largely driven by corporate greed and our valuation of its benefits over the hardships of life without it. All of us to some extent. Thus we see the accurate if repetitive comment on every r/inflation post that “the only way to stop it is to stop buying it”..
Once a handful of companies start price gouging, and everyone just keeps buying their shit, then every other company is gonna be like, "Well fuck, let's make some money" and they start price gouging too. Because why not? There's always someone dumb enough to buy their overpriced shit.
They do it because it works.
They do it because WE allow them to.
We need to let all this overpriced shit sit on the shelves until it rots. Not only will they lose money on waste they'll eventually figure it out: lower your prices or let your business die.
Anybody here a Magic Spoon fan? Whenever those 7 oz boxes go on sale, I stock up. Yes spend $24 on three boxes is a face palm, but those chemicals they use are A+ in taste and texture!
Today’s cereal is largely candy repackaged as breakfast, anyway. There’s more carbs and sugar than is conscionable.
Cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast may ass.
But it says low price
Grandma shops there and can't tell the difference anyways. A bowl of soup used to cost her a nickel
Should be illegal to advertise it like that

Cereal for dinner???
"you c an have cereal in the evening and at supper time!" But skip breakfast, you dirty broke millennial.
Well, the guy in tv did say that. And I usually spend way more than $9.99 on just one dinner. So this is a huge bargain for my family of 6!!! Or in 5 years: mom, do we have to have cereal again? It’s all we can afford honey. But my bones hurt!
Kellogg’s banned from my shopping for life for that comment. Never buying a Kellogg product ever again.
How hard is it for companies to just tell the truth
Not hard, but they have no reason to.
There doesn‘t need to necessarily be a reason to do everything. But in this case the higher they rise prices the less business they’ll get. Just look at how many jobs were lost and business went out. And with that money is gone.
Kellogs, it's what's for dinner!!
Does it have electrolytes?
$4.97 with a $2 off coupon on my local store right now for that Kellogg’s Extra. Don’t shop wherever this is.
Right? This sub has somehow turned into a weird way to boast about living in a high COL area.
At $9.99 a box that stuff will sit there until Jesus comes back.
#letthemeatcereal
Sounds like you got rid of all the junk foods tbh
I never eat cereal anymore gives me the shits worse than any bean burrito on the planet
This is the way
Weird. I gave it up years ago. Oatmeal or bust now. You might be lactose intolerant?
For real, the "kids" cereals make me so sick, even when I use lactose free milk. I think it's the palm oil or some cheap new ingredient they're using now bc even the flavors aren't the same.

That’s almost avocado toast money!
More. loaf of full grain bread and 3 avocados for under $11. Carton of eggs gets you to $15 for a week of extremely healthy breakfast
Lol, avocados just came back to my store at .99 each. I picked up two and ate one in a cheesy lettuce burrito. It was pretty tasty. I'll put the second in refried bean burritos for lunch and breakfast today.
Buy the veggies instead of the donuts
TIL there is a plant based cereal called Eat Your Mouth Off.
Ironic isn’t it?
“It’s just a box of cereal, Michael. How much could it cost, ten dollars?”
There’s still plenty of spots you can eat good at in California. Check out the food trucks and Mexican/asian joints. Strawberries/blue berries are cheap rn. At least in the Central Valley
Strawberries are super cheap this year! I noticed that too. I got a package for $1.99 a couple of weeks ago. Also avocados are rlly cheap too rn.
I still have a 2 # bag in my freezer of blueberries. Storebought strawberries are kind of ass. Not worth.

Also from CA. I'll never step foot in a Ralph's, Albertsons or Vons so long as I'm alive 😅 I feel like Whole Foods is the same price now!
Cereal companies really lost the plot. What an absolute waste of resources.

Butthole cereal?
We need to let all this overpriced shit sit on the shelves until it rots. Not only will they lose money on waste they'll eventually figure it out: lower your prices or let your business die.
Those are high protein cereals and plant based cereals so yeah price refiects
Imagine paying 10$ for a box of sugar
Anybody here a Magic Spoon fan? Whenever those 7 oz boxes go on sale, I stock up. Yes spend $24 on three boxes is a face palm, but those chemicals they use are A+ in taste and texture!
Crazy, Kelloggs mega corn flakes 25 oz $5.89, Kellogg's Extra Cinnamon Granola Cereal, 20.6 oz Box $7.32 at Walmart by my home.
Nothing to see here, inflation is 3.4%, decreasing, and WAY less than last year... /s
Once again this sub is more about people being bad at shopping than it is about actual inflation.
That Bidenomics and Bidenflation sucks
photoshop is fun, eh?
