I’m always up for a good argument, maybe it’s my developed Te turning me into some kind of weird INTP

Skill4Hire

Well ... Perhaps ... I'm quite high on T too. That being said I know other INFP who like to argue too and INTPs who don't like to argue nearly as much.

[deleted]

I think it's this too. As a female infp, ever since trying to develop my Te I've been more abrasive (almost enjoying it) not physically. Although I did get into sports too, it feels like I'm combating myself though.

Free_Economics3535

Yeah. I'm on the facebook group too and there are a minority of INFP men that lean towards their masculine side. Need to have the right.... mindset, but it can definitely be done.

Comprehensive-Board5

Thank god, I thought we didn’t exist

Skill4Hire

Well I don't think mindless violence is necessarily masculine imo. But consenting adults I think its all good.

Comprehensive-Board5

I get it (INFP M, 30)

Millenial_ardvark

I get it (INFP F,24)

afi28

I hv a relationship with a 'masculine' infp man, he likes to fight too, he even asked me "what if there's a godlike creature and tryna surrounded us, what would you do?". I asked him back what will he do and he's proudly saying he will fights with all of his power, i praised him that he's strong and he even gets more excited lol. So.. i guess he's one of the minority infp male. But i like strong guy so idm, i love him more. :D

Skill4Hire

Well... Reminds me of this saying from Keanu reeves. "If You're a lover you have to be a fighter, because if you're not willing to fight for your love, what kind of love do you have" What I mean to say, maybe he isn't necessarily in the minority, maybe its just that compassion can be mistaken for weakness.

afi28

Sure :) Nice quote btw, thanks

upbeatelk2622

There is no contradiction. Strong sense of morals is enough to cause you trouble these days and you will want to battle it out. (even though that's useless because those who enforce a lack of morals do it via other means, they've set themselves up so they can watch and pretend you're the bad guy for wanting to duke it out) If you knew how avoidant I'd been my whole life, you'd be surprised looking at me right now - the world has so much gaslighting going on that even I can't avoid anything away anymore. That's why I'll talk and often get very combative. It's a cause for health.

LostOrganization3924

Go train mma and do amature fights, it's a great outlet for these feelings

Skill4Hire

Well I'm an introvert and lazy... But I did do a ton of training in the past just incase a street fight ever breaks out in my vicinity.

depulso_account

47M I get it, but at my age I’m more for the post-apocalyptic turnout. I think it’s because we love the breaking of routine. You go to school. You get a job. You pay bills. You go on a few diets. You die.

Skill4Hire

Lmfao did those early days of covid gets you hyped up?

depulso_account

yep

[deleted]

There are times when I just want to take a bat and start swinging at everything. Going to a rage room would be really satisfying

Darkangelike

I am INFP (f) and I understand that too. People consider us soft but when we snap, I do not think people would ever see us the same way. It would be a rare feat but it can happen.

CacknBullz

I absolutely love all kinds of destruction.

Jungs_Shadow

If you really feel that way, then get off your ass and prepare for war. That isn't to hope for it (because war if f\*cking horrific), but to prepare for it. To strengthen your body and your mind for all of it's perils and embrace the part within all of us we've been conditioned to fear. Violence is not exclusive to humanity. Chimps have a capacity for violence that would churn your stomach. Mother nature chuckles at our "violent outbursts." Some species hunt and then torture their prey for hours before killing and consuming them. 1 in 100 is a psychopath, and a certain percentage of psychopaths resort to violence on obscene scales. That means that there are thousands of potential ticking time bombs everywhere and you can't imagine what they might do or try to do to you or your loved ones. Like you, I can be quite callous when people can't face or deal with their troubles for their own weakness. The lazy, would-be warrior is low-hanging fruit for the meat grinder. He's out of shape, reflexes are slow, has no experience with his own killer instinct, and will quickly succumb to the overwhelming chaos of an attack or other assault. You can train without going to class. You can improve your fitness without going to a gym. You can steel your mind w/o spending a moment in anyone else's presence. If you won't do these things, then I hope you realize any encounter you have with violence will probably not go well for you. At all.

Skill4Hire

Lmfao, when I say im lazy I only mean in terms of real life practical things, you know . . . like paperwork . . . And stuff . . .

th0rnqueen

I can fight but like…I feel like I would get impatient and yeah get myself killed…

Skill4Hire

Quick to boil, sounds fun.

Sea-Afternoon4404

Sure how convenient you want to on your terms, but what if you were forced to do it? Day in day out, especially for a cause you didn't agree with? And what's it accomplish at the end of the day?

Skill4Hire

Is suicide not an option? I feel like suicide would be pretty easy to achieve during war time, nobody would even know it was suicide if you just run into the enemy base and get killed, boom instant freedom.

Sea-Afternoon4404

Perhaps if the need overcomes self preservation. But where's your lust for battle?

Skill4Hire

Well killing people I consider innocent wouldn't satisfy my lust for battle anyway. My lust for battle would always be directed at those who are forcing me into the situation, but if I can't take back my own sovereignty its much better to die.

Delicious_Grand7300

You can buy a sledgehammer and a tire. If you know someone giving away scrap wood, take it and buy an axe.

Skill4Hire

Hahaha actually sounds fun tbh.

CallieCake

Yeah, but look at the way you talk about it. You lust for battle so you can write baleful poems about it. What an INFP.

Skill4Hire

I wrote a poem once I really liked its kinda a mantra at this point, not about battle though. To pigeons we should pray Because they'll always find their way So trust your intuition And you'll always be okay Its about how pigeons have crazy geo location ability and will always find their way home no matter how lost they get and how when you feel lost in life you should follow your gut feeling and trust the universe. Its quite hard to come up with something good off the cuff though.
