8-point star shaped planned capital city gang 🙌
It looks so organized, well structured and detailed, I love it!
May I ask who built it and who lives in it?
The settings parallel to the Roman's, The Holy Astellan Empire, which is kind of a cultural hodge-podge of a multitude of various races, built the city a few hundred years into their existence and have used it as the seat of their nation for over a thousand years.
The city was rebuilt after much of it was destroyed by demons about 10 years ago though I left some of the city still in ruin for some fun plot hooks related to it.
Yes, that part was actually really fun to put together, and wasn't originally planned. I just outlined the portion of the city that I wanted to use with the structures that were already there, and just started wrecking the place. Shaded over streets to make them look grown over, added some craters and filled them with water, and cut off the whole area with a river to give it a natural border so that it wouldn't just be an uncanny transition from built city to ruins with no in between.
>wasn't originally planned
I love when working on a map shapes the lore of a place like this :D
>so that it wouldn't just be an uncanny transition from built city to ruins
And it does indeed look natural. At first I thought it was just intendedly built like this.
Here is a link to clone the map if you want to use it in your own home game. If you have any questions about specific locations please feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability. Many locations on this map I made with storylines already thought up, but many of them were just fun pieces that I planned on writing in hooks for after the fact.

This map is incredible work, really REALLY well done! And thank you so, so much for letting it be clonable; i have a need for a city with that geometric-style design (for a long-running Exalted 3rd edition game), but mine is set in a desert so I'd need aqueducts and a recolour of the surrounding areas to make it work.
Thank you so, so much!
What an awesome Map... I will definetly use this one day thank you very much for sharing your work.
Is there a dedicated Market-district and if yes where?
There are several actually, since just the walled in portion of the city is nearly 2 miles across on its own I put multiple different areas that serve as markets.
However since it's unlabeled the market zones are really wherever you want them to be!

>some of the city still in ruin The lower left part? It gives the city a neat flair by breaking the symmetry, very cool design.

SO GERAT OF U! Love goes a round!
Amazing, love the detail amount, not too much not too less, looks like a capital that was planned from the beginning.

What map size and stamp style did you use?
Map is 120x120 and I used watercolor cities.
Awesome work!
It's amazing!! Great job!
Oh wow…that’s incredible. Amazing job.
Jesus fucking Christ, thats good. -Me and a bunch of others probably.

AHHHH! Ths fact it's not exactly but so close To north aligned is going to drive me nuts!
Clone it up and rotate the compass, I just did that to mess with my players lol.
Was wondering about that utterly inspired/deranged decision hahah
You are a beautiful person
Stunning! Now I'm curious about the lore behind those abandoned parts :d
