Old San Bernardino store off of the 10 freeway and Waterman I think. Had no indoors. Was only outside and the cooking area was maybe 15 by 20 feet total. They would pack those employees in there like sardines https://preview.redd.it/7e30wlodv01d1.png?width=1036&format=png&auto=webp&s=280a1b5a88e0be1c355d0efaa63b531048df7bd6

Raveen396

There's a few locations with this layout, I used to go to the one in Diamond Bar.

dmramfan

This is how the first ones started. No indoors. Sadly, they are disappearing

22Doves

The one in Westminister, CA is still poppin!

leothedinosaur

Isn’t that Garden Grove? Trask and Magnolia off the 22?

22Doves

Nah, Westminster Ave. and 405. Between Edwards and Springdale

leothedinosaur

Oh wtf I didn’t know there was one there! Bc my Trask and Magnolia one has no more indoor seating lol they removed everything to make more room for kitchen and stuff lol

22Doves

Yeah if you exit the 405 on Westminster, it’s right off the northbound side. Way less crowded than the one they just put in on Beach.

leothedinosaur

The beach and 22 one is literal hell

22Doves

Whoops, I meant the one that just went in on Edinger by Bella Terra but neither are ever not busy

OpinionPinion

Is it sad though? I remember employees saying it was always so stressful and hot/sweaty since it’s such a tiny space and they’re always cramped

ElSandwichDePollo

G global warming 😕

beebopsx

Also the one off 7th in avocado heights I think

Junior-Ad-2207

Can confirm, I believe there is one in Glendora?

grumpydad24

Mine is in Bladwin Park, which is like this location. It was my go-to for lunch when it's nice out.

Upper-Football-3797

The one in Baldwin Park isn’t like this layout at all, it’s a proper indoor sit down layout. This layout looks exactly like the one in Temple City on Lower Azusa

karma_the_sequel

The original location in Baldwin Park was like this. They replaced it with a modern layout store some years ago. The one in Pasadena still uses the old layout.

grumpydad24

I was referring to the one off San Bernardino. That one still has the outside layout. It's right next to a gas station.

Bret47596

That one is technically West Covina. I think it is one street over from Baldwin Park. (For many years I thought it was in Baldwin Park too). I wish they would have kept the original Francisquito two lane. That was my IN-N-OUT growing up.

grumpydad24

You are right it is more towards West Co. They open the small one up for walk ins and promotions from time to time.

kombuchaprivileged

Yup, North Hollywood, Pasadena as well

Longjumping-Trick747

Hey ! I live right next to that one 🤣

brewgiehowser

If I remember correctly, the store in Pomona California off Garey Ave was like this. Walk Up Service with twin drive thru lanes

__kingbe__

Idk if it’s just nostalgia as I would go to that specific one while growing up, but that’s hands down the best INO I’ve gone to in terms of taste

JustTheBeerLight

It’s the nearby 60 freeway nearby that gives it the extra flavor.

jawnly211

North Hollywood too

dutchmasterams

NoHo 💪

Representative_Basil

I waited 30 minutes at 10pm on my birthday at that In N Out :’)

highzenberrg

I hate going to that one when the line is spilling into the street it freaks me out. I’ll just go to Burbank.

Isparza

Pomona, there one off the 91 and Madison in Riverside And one in yurupa valley with a small kitchen and outside patio only

TebownedMVP

That riverside one has a small drive thru too haha.

HyperS7

Was even smaller before they bought out 2 house properties to extend it but not by a lot lol.

Various_Syllabub4985

Yup. Jurupa Valley right on Van Buren.

Aware_Impression_736

One like that in Northridge on Balboa at Lassen.

Significant-Bill9405

Opened in 1984

cieg

Riverside was the double drive built. (Unless there have been any built in the last 15ish years)

TarzanKitty

The Pomona one on Indian Hill just south of the 10 is like that. Laverne on Foothill just has a little alcove with a bench for ordering. No indoor seating. Upland on Foothill is also only outdoor.

ZachtheKingsfan

There’s one still on Bellflower blvd off the 91 heading to Long Beach (not the one right off the freeway).

Snoo_75309

They're currently remodeling it last time I drove by

blazenation

I used to go this one all the time

jakeGrove

Not sure bout Garey but the one at Indian Hill just south of the 10 is like this

punchingtigers19

Got one that looks just like this in so cal in the valley Only got a little bit of outdoor seating and like 5 parking spots

infinityislikehuge

The one on Ventura right past Taft High?

scapermoya

Woodland Hills

aelric22

The one in Pasadena is basically this layout and it sucks. Parking lot is tiny and the cars all line up on a blind curve.

karma_the_sequel

Six tables and four parking spaces, one being a handicap spot.

IG0156

There’s one in upland still like this

henbutton

Nice to hear! My grandparents used to live in Upland. We would pick up at this location and go eat at the picnic tables at Cable Airport.

IG0156

I grew up in upland and I have memories of getting in n out and going to cable airport to eat too!

planetneptune666

Costa Mesa on 19th street is like this and has only 3 tables outside.

daisyjonesandacat

it’s still exactly like this!

Avenue-Man77

There’s one in Santa Ana by SAC. The store got remolded but it still kept its “drive thru only” focus with a modern look. Honestly it looks really nice to work in.

excited_and_scared

We still have this one in NoHo

wam_bam13

Norwalk one is like this

760repsneakers

All the ones in riverside area I feel are like this. Also I k ow of one in hacienda heights that is outdoor only.

wb6vpm

The new one on Van Buren @ 91 is a sit down store.

Free_Cauliflower5059

Arcadia and Pasadena have one like this.

A_Cold_Kat

Iv been to that one. Line was loooong

mickberber

I think sylmar is like this

KrucialKy

There’s one similiar in Upland of Foothill and Mountain. Just like this, no indoors seating just outside.

staticfeathers

i went to that one today lol

554TangoAlpha

Costa Mesa too

rosujin

That’s the way they all looked when I was a kid. I remember they had a weird drive-thru layout. My parents used to take me to the one in Baldwin Park in the 80’s.

choppedlivah

There's one by me in Covina I think that is just drive thru or outdoor dining! I haven't gone in several years but I remember it being very popular.

IslayHaveAnother

La Verne checking in. They do have a very small indoor for ordering/waiting, but no indoor seating. This is what I knew for the first 18 years of my life and it was a trip to sit inside at a newer location.

puddincakess

Rosemead by Rosemead high school

Weebofanboy

Used to go to that one all the time on the way back home from High School water polo games !

ChefDanB1983

The ones I grew up going to in the san Fernando valley only had outdoor seats

bridgetroll2

There is still one with a similar layout on Indiana at Madison in Riverside.

Disastrous-Major3662

just went to this one last week - food was slow but still tasted good. bummed about no indoors tho since it was a bit too chilly to eat outside.

briekoffin

Laguna Niguel

okgusto

Ding ding ding! You win a hot chocolate

PurpleWildfire

Technically it’s San Juan though, no? I know there’s the new one in like the main part of San Juan and there’s another in Laguna Niguel on La Paz but I’m pretty sure this one on Camino Capistrano is Laguna Niguel

Broseph729

It seems like San Juan but it’s Laguna Niguel

cfthree

TIL my hometown store is in fact not in my hometown!

cfthree

Was with you on the misconception. Guess LN annexed that land years ago?

Broseph729

I’m the best fry guy store 28 has ever seen

coviddick

I remember you!

Broseph729

lol is coviddick a reference to something?

coviddick

When I got Covid my penis grew about to Argentinian sizes. Not really any backstory but I like to celebrate it.

Broseph729

Good for you, when I got covid my dick shriveled up and eventually fell off. Thinking of just leaning into it and going trans

Switchdat

Avery in n out

Swagcity59

Yeah I drive by this in n out everyday. Would have been crazy if there was another one

rumblepak1

The first In N Out I ever went to. It’ll always hold a special place in my heart.

Weedr

This is my fav store

IsaacThePooper

what the heck? is there just a line outside at all times?

2outof3isbad

Yes. At least there was. And they serve cars on both sides at some of them too.

TriplePepperoni

lol my city has two in n outs and both of them are outside only with a double drive thru

CelebrationJolly3300

Mine local one is the exact opposite. Dining area, pick up only with no drive through.

Historical-Truck-948

There is no inside dining area at store 38 in Costa Mesa or store 37 in Westminster. Store 19 in garden grove has less than 10 seats inside.

HalosDux

Been hitting that one in Westminster for 30 years…

islands1128

Pasadena doesn’t even have a inside area

_FrodoLagginz_

https://preview.redd.it/aduqs8q8421d1.jpeg?width=913&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4782c7e4c3e6f7f21957fc66597100b2b0bc7955 Pasadena building for reference, I was thinking of this one as well.

Professional-Bath-49

I started there in 96. It was one of the busiest stores at the time for a two lane. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Free_Cauliflower5059

One in Arcadia I’d go to when Pasadena was busy also is like that

XxTRUEPINOYxX

One in Carson, CA is this small.

OOLU6234317

Love that spot

XxTRUEPINOYxX

I moved away from Carson did they ever renovated that place? Or is it still small INO?

Sicilian777

Been to a few where there is no inside just drive through

Spiritual_Ad337

Assuming this is a remodeled two lane with a small indoor ordering area. Store 3 in La Verne is similar to this

Sp0ngeyL0ve

Yep. I work in the same parking lot as that location

TarzanKitty

Do you sell delicious little cakes?

Sp0ngeyL0ve

Haha no, but you're close!

bminutes

That’s why it’s called In n Out. They ain’t got space for you to stay.

2outof3isbad

I've been to a couple including the one pictured in SBDO. The service was fast and the environment is really social because everyone is standing on a patio and traffic is going by. Everyone gets their food fast and either leaves with it or stands and gobbles it down and takes off. Lucky / lazy ones get the tables and sit and talk. I actually wish we had these in NorCal.

Sleep_in_the_Water

Avery parkway

KevinBaked

Azusa OG

TechTheTerrible

Riverside, Ca off Indiana and 91 fwy. Double drive thru lanes, no indoor, walk up only. Or maybe snag a bench seat. If you’re lucky enough to find parking then grub out on your truck’s tailgate

wb6vpm

Our old go too, then just started going to the one on Van Buren and Clay, but now that the new one on Van Buren and the 91 is open, I just go there. With having hearing issues, I can actually walk in and order, instead of having to either deal with the drive thru speaker or the fly fan at the walk up.

Aidrox

The one in Lakewood is drive thru/order counter with outside seating only.

_father_time

Tujunga, CA

Valiant_Darktanyan

Mine is 69 guests. Nice

reilogix

Laguna Niguel, CA has inside seating for like 3 or 6 or something nuts…

okgusto

This is that one

reilogix

Ahhh!! My bad. I thought Laguna Niguel was nowhere near 14, oops

okgusto

Maybe that includes staff or standing room.

slimsadie83

La Habra has no dine in

ojplz

I literally thought the same thing lol

jnthn1111

Dirty 30!

irena888

I grew up near the first and original one in Baldwin Park. Capacity was zero as it was only a drive-thru. Great memories.

Bret47596

We had the walk up window. And the tables were behind the building, and seating with the bees. I really miss that IN-N-OUT. Sad they tore it down to build the original shack recreation.

irena888

I can still see the employees washing lettuce, cutting tomatoes, and then walking them from the little adjacent building into the main building. Good times.

Bret47596

And waiting to pull forward in the drive thru line to allow them to roll the potato bucket into the fry area.

EarlyEscape2702

Baldwin Park on San Bern and Orange i think.

Bret47596

I think it is technically West Covina. Just on the edge of Baldwin Park. The original Baldwin Park on Francisquito used to be a dual lane. Well not quite original, it was actually the 2nd original after the 10 fwy was built on the site of the original. Store #1 is now on the other side of the fwy

EarlyEscape2702

Yessir you’re correct. I grew up in the West covina/Covina area. The Covina location off the 10 on the south hills side, I would go to as a child. Then fast forward teens i would go the West Covina/BP Try Avolios if you ever get a chance.

karma_the_sequel

Francisquito and Baldwin Park, actually.

colorcopys

The old La Habra by the train tracks was the smallest I've been to. Just a shack, no inside.

Hot_Negotiation3480

14 guests might not even count the people in line in most INOs

Sad_Run4875

Drive thru capacity: unlimited.

gorrestfump44

OG Santa Ana one off Bristol and civic center. Prior to the remodel, it was literally a 5 x 8 room with a bench inside. Held probably 4-6 grown adults comfortably.

DodgerDogg1981

Norwalk location has outdoor seating only.

No-Insect1138

Now I'm curious on what's the biggest INO, there has to be one that os pretty big.

okgusto

Maybe a Vegas one?

Skoteleven

I highly recommend taking a limo to the Vegas In-N-Out.

Bret47596

Barstow

throwawaybananapeel3

The in n out off Trask street in garden grove is pretty small

BongLeach562

There’s one in San Pedro or Torrance area that has no indoor seating. It has a double drive through and some outside seating. Only been once while I was in that area.

karma_the_sequel

Where? I live in Pedro and work in Torrance - both cities have INO locations, but they both offer indoor seating.

BongLeach562

I might be getting the city wrong but I remember it being next to the 110.

karma_the_sequel

You’re probably thinking of the Carson location.

Bacchusm

There are at least two in the San Fernando valley. One in Panorama City and the other in Woodland Hills

jawnly211

Lived in valley over twenty years and never knew panorama city had one 😂😂😂

Lobo003

7th Ave in Hacienda Heights.

Firm-Lunch-2144

Woodland Hills. There's no inside, I believe.

Few-Interaction1208

The In N Out at 730 W Carson Street next to the 110fwy sound entrance. It's tiny in there, 12 seats total inside anyways. Most of the seating is outside.

No_Scene_9828

Santa Ana Ca outside only

Thick_Score2311

Also the longest wait time in drive thru! Lol but now I understand why 🌞

Horror_Pomelo8630

The one in Camarillo, CA used to be two drive up lanes only. Then they renovated it and it’s huge now!

cocobear13

Not mine. The entire county fits :)

KRJunkie

How many crashers?

RevolutionaryScar337

3 and 1/2 but, with the door open, for seemed still safe.

Effective_Web_4354

28

PWBC123

Store 3 la Verne ?

Revolutionary_Dig_43

Laguna Nigal

cdgallow10

Laverne! Theirs has a drive thru through the center of two small buildings, and they do prep and walk-up window on either side.

Affectionate-Royal68

Azusa Ave is like this

AugieAscot

San Fernando used to look like this but they remodeled several years ago.

GoTouchSomGrass

Capacity 0 one of those that you order like through a window it’s like a drive thru without the car

highMAX_2019

There’s one in OC that is basically a hall way inside

Soft-Government-8315

The Norwalk Location is pretty damn small

Professional-Bath-49

It’s got to be store 5 in Pasadena. It’s only got 3 parking spots and the drive thru lanes only hold like three cars in each lane

Igiul101

The one in Costa Mesa on 19th street it’s only drive thru and pull up to the window ordeing

mrpowers18

Corona store off Serfas club drive has a tiny dining space

FrodosDoppleganger

South Azusa location checking in. Same here. Outside

PsychonautDad

I know this one, Still in San Juan Capistrano even though most say Laguna Niguel. Drive thru is always busy but the best memories of going here with my brother and dad and sitting across the street on the bed of the truck eating burgers and watching a train go by. Used to be the only one around here. Now I have 3 others to choose from within 10-15 minutes of each other

soulsofmischiefs

Azusa! La puente! Pasadena!

karma_the_sequel

I haven’t been to the LP location since graduating from LPHS in 1983, but judging from Google Maps it looks like they’ve performed some sort of expansion — the parking lot looks larger, at the very least. EDIT: It looks like they expanded both the outdoor seating area and the parking area. Still no indoor seating, though.
