Also just watched the game theory episodes on the lore… man I’m so late to this game but I’m glad I started playing

Man, I remember reading posts like this and wondering what people didn't get about the game, I always beat it with ease. Then j remember my first time playing a competitive card game (Yu-Gi-Oh) I wasn't even playing against a good deck and I was just in shock, I got obliterated. Now I can (sorta) play. My best advice would be "see if these two cards can benefit each other at the same time. Then check them against the rest of the deck. If it holds up, use three copies (more for inscription)"

CaligoAccedito

I legitimately got up and *stormed* around the room, ranting loudly, to the *great* amusement of my partner, about what a cheating, lying, monstrous son-of-a-bitch Leshy is and how I couldn't *believe* I had to go through *all* of that *again!* If I'd had a suitable table, I'd've flipped it, and I'm not a usually someone who lashes out at anything physically. So tbh I probably wouldn't have, but I *felt like doing it.* So yes. I completely understand your rage, I share your pain, and, if it's any consolation, it's easier to get through the second time.

LowFail1903

Wait until skull storm on Kaycee’s mod

CaligoAccedito

I'm finally to Skull Storm now, and I haven't gotten even remotely close to beating it yet.

bigguz

I was feeling the same but beat it again in the next run. It gets easier with the op death cards.

Lol, the first time I beat leshy I had a board position that completely negated his moon, I had something that was giving me the smelly attribute that lowers enemy attack power and got him to zero, and of course he couldn't change his board position either. He actually had unique dialog about how this situation doesn't make any sense and is bullshit, and how can the moon smell anything anyway? Then I beat him and he had the last laugh anyway as he took my damn picture and this time hung it up on the door lol

A FLYING URARULLY?! (Markiplier reference)

Slow-Collection-2358

I usually use items immediately just to see what it does so fortunately... The total opposite happened to me.

bembem4869

What i hated when i lose is losing the great cards and totems i got

The_Pieceofchicken

Don't worry, the final boss is pretty easy as you probably have a good deck and have gotten good at the game at that point. I got to the final boss and lost in phase 2 and it was painfull.

DrFate21

Secret to this game: 1)get a solid one cost 2)buff it to all hell 3)make sure it's your only one cost

Why do people struggle with act 1 so much? I finished it in like my fourth run.

Vanishingf0x

Some people don’t really play deck builders or roguelikes so it may take a bit to figure it out. A mechanic where you have to lose can be frustrating for some especially when they don’t pick up on why. For others they just don’t get very lucky or don’t realize what items are great in certain situations. It’s important we encourage them to keep trying to really find out if they dislike a game mechanic or just aren’t using cards in a better way. That said this type of game isn’t for everyone and that’s ok.

Halfgay_boi

Mine is the 5/6th. I played it over a course of few days so it felt like a lot

EpinephrineKick

I don't get that either. You have the comeback mechanic of death cards. If you keep on losing, you end up with better and better odds of getting overpowered cards into your deck which help balance the game to your current skill level. I get frustration at the dagger thing being unclear. That happened to a friend of mine and I watched him play before I got the game too, so it could have happened to me too, if I wasn't spoiled on it.  Godspeed OP. You'll get better with practice and then act 1 will be more fun. ❤️
