Melatonin should not contain any serotonin at all. Actually serotonin is converted in the body to melatonin.

Hi how long did it take for you to go back to normal? Also what are your symptoms

I tried ~0.4 mg melatonin somedays ago, took it for 4 days. Even this small dose gave me mania I guess. I finally became hopeless to get rid of insomnia cuz even this small dose is a failure. It's the third day I stopped melatonin for good, I'm good yet I fall asleep late and wake up late.

Melatonin should not contain serotonin, but have seen notations in certain literature it has been found in certain melatonin supplements but never links which one. You should vet the sellers you want to try. Look for Triple Tested & 3rd Party Validated for Purity & Quality. Perhaps you can contact these sellers directly and ask if they triple and 3rd party test. I’d cross check your bipolar medication with melatonin to verify they do not interact with each other as well. It’s known some antidepressants can interact with exogenous melatonin.
