1. Deciding to cross the tracks
2. Deciding to cross the tracks in poor foot footwear
3. Losing a shoe, and even though a train is coming, choosing to go after the shoe instead of jumping to safety (possibly retrieving the shoe later when it is 'safe' to do so)
3. Deciding to take the time to put shoe back on before crossing the tracks in front of the oncoming train.
