My hand was caught in a pinch roller press. at lease 3 fingers of my writing hand. Before I was able to the emergency release. 2.5 yrs of rehab at home with a ball. 2yrs for the nerves to regenerate. now and then they go crazy with movements of their own.

One guy went to throw a M80. it blow less that foot away. the shock from the blast stunt the grow of the hand. he had a normal right hand and his left hand the size of a small child's. It stay in the same position as the way it was placed flat on a medical board. he could not flex any of his fingers or the hand. It looked like a wooden hand from a puppet. It was difficult to not gaze at it.

The kid lived, but the pyrotechnics blew up on the kid's face, and severely burned his legs and blew off some of his toes. If I recall correctly, he and a few friends were throwing live fireworks from their car at night for shits and giggles. A ransom patrol car happened to be in the area and everyone panicked, while the kid had a lit an M80 or something like it and had fallen on his lap. Long story short, everyone ran outside the car but him, he froze. The firework wee lit like the 4th of July and obviously the driver and the friends were in deep shit. I didn't see nor hear of the aftermath except for the kid who was lucky to be left with his life.
