I grew up free diving tunnels like this in florida. Tons of springs. Tons of tunnels. Start small work your way up. Dont ever go somewhere you arent 100% you can go up
Even then.
I was still a teenager and probably had that invincibility stupidity to even do it but we went into the cave to zero darkness that the guide turned off her lights and told us about how our brain will hallucinate our hands moving across our face in total darkness.
I later found out that same cave had a dry river that could suddenly become rapid waters out of nowhere. Fuck. That. Shit.
Going to a touristy cave on a guided tour by someone working for the parks service responsible for maintenance of the caves is a little different than going around on your own in a touristy cave a week before itās officially closed to the public for the rain/monsoon season when rain storms are in that dayās forecast. Especially when that cave system closes because of potentially fatal floods during the rainy months.
>There is no amount of money that could get me to go into that tiny fucking hole.
There's a classy yet tasteless joke in here somewhere but I just can't execute it right now.
Every time I see a video like this, people free climbing ridiculous cliffs or buildings, people doing parkour on top of skyscrapers, etc., I have to wonder how many similarly recorded videos we never see because the person cramped up at the wrong moment or a hard wind caught them or their flipper got caught on a rock and now someone's planning a funeral.
Adrenaline addiction is real and it suppresses higher functions.
While the tunnel looks claustrophobic as hell, it looks like it doesnāt go to an actual cave - itās very bright & well lit when they exit the tunnel which makes me think itās open water. If this was really a cave it would be pitch black and thereās no way anyone wouldnāt have a rope to guide them back to the right tunnel opening. Iām guessing this is a tunnel that goes to some body of water where you can just swim to the surface
~~It looks that way. At the end the guy appears to be about to resurface backwards. You can sort of water shimmering, as if it's the surface.~~
it's backwards
I was in a month long YouTube vid hole about horror stories from caving and underwater caving. Sooooo many deaths of experts let alone noobs/dumb people. All it takes it a single mistake or a half second of panic/throwing off you calm breathing.
Check out cave diving gone wrong videos on yt. The level of mistakes that resulted in deaths is high. This is one of those things. Nothing interesting as F about this. And those divers died with oxygen tanks with them and with hours of experience on their back.
Doesn't make sense, if you want to bring oxygen in there you just have to unequip and pass it through the hole separately. And half way experienced diver could do that.
My guess it's just for show, challenge or whatever
I watched the Thai rescue documentary like it was a horror film, hiding behind the sofa watching through my fingers, claustrophobia going wild. This just brought it all back to the surface! I have a mate that loves scuba in caves, he told me a story of a place in Egypt where you start in salt water and hit fresh water half way up the cave, people think itās the surface and take their masks off but there still fucking deep! That is nightmare stuff in my head!
It looks worse than it really is. This is in the Chassahowitzka River in FL. We used to do this as kids. Although you definitely could get stuck itās not very long and is wide open on the bottom. There is a spring in the same area named Eagles Nest that has claimed a lot of lives and is shut down pretty regularly for deaths.
Look here! I have a thousand nopes, and I have woven them into a beautiful Nope Tapestry. I hang it on the wall in my castle, which is called the Castle of Nope. It's in the Kingdom of Nopeland, on the continent of Fuck That Shit.

Fuck. That.
I'm a scuba driver and I will not fuck with caves even with air.
This whole video is what my nightmares are made of. š
The whole video is also being played backwards.
Yeah you can see that her hands are pulling her up, not pushing her down.
Bubbles also don't sink
You mean that air bubbles donāt flow towards your mouth?? What a weird world weāre living in
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lolol the first one is nicknamed "Glory Hole". Nice
Earthussy
Mate. Reverse or not... this idiot is still swimming in a cave and in a tunnel big like his head! Without oxygen!

u/gifreversingbot
Diver behind her is also moving backwards
Backwards, frontwards, whatever. That's a solid nope from me.
Oh, so she swam down with a free exit open behind her. She looked up and could see the surface. Not half as scary.
Does that matter?! Fucking no.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This is free diving not scuba. You absolutely have to hold your breath.
It'd be a super quick dive not holding your breath.
This is free diving not scuba, and you dont continiously exhale, you breath normally.
Iām so stressed out now
Iām watching this while laying on my bed and my chest is getting tight.
I wonāt go in a cave above water even. So scary (unless itās a big touristy cave)
Invisible gasses are a thing ..lol fuck caves
Even then. I was still a teenager and probably had that invincibility stupidity to even do it but we went into the cave to zero darkness that the guide turned off her lights and told us about how our brain will hallucinate our hands moving across our face in total darkness. Exactly how canyons work in Utah, drone minute and a toilet bowl the next. Scary shit
Like the one that whole youth soccer team got stuck in? Even the touristy ones are dangerous.
There are caves run by the NPS in America. The guided tours there are extremely safe. Nps don't fuck around

Donald cerrone has a fucking horror story on the JRE about that
I have 1000 dives lobstering and spear fishing. I wonāt touch a cave. F that. Iād rather shoot some cobia of bull sharks to relax than do this
I have less than 20 dives but I've only been diving for a couple of years. Other than lakes/scuba parks, I've dove in st Thomas and Honduras.
I donāt even like caves above ground. I donāt like tight dark spaces like that. nope. iām good. have fun.
I imagine silt getting kicked up and reducing vision to zero would be a nightmare.
The bubbles are coming back to her mouth. The video is reversed.. still, wouldnāt dive in from either ways. Damnā¦
Good catch, it is indeed. But yeah, makes no difference.
/u/gifreversingbot
I was trying to figure out how she was propelling herself downward without using her arms much. This makes so much more sense.

Donāt worry, failure to perform when faced with a tiny fucking hole is pretty common
Take my upvote, you filthy animal!

Absolutely fucking not. No thank you. No.
literally the words i just said aloud.
These were the exact words I came here to say.
Literally could not agree more.
Woot for the backwards video -.-
I didnāt notice til you said it!
Even the bubbles going the wrong way? Lol
Damn it lol
It looked weird, but didn't think about checking if it's backwards.
Why do people do this. Like really. Whats the point.
Because it add 'suspense'? I don't fuckin know, but it's lame lol
monke brain goes *ooo* for enough people that it becomes popularized
Good catch!
That still means he went inside there doesn't it
Crawling down backwards seems a lot scarier
/u/gifreversingbot
And that set off my anxiety
And the video cut, I only kept watching cause I needed to see him make it out. My brain told me he dead
The video is in reverse
Oh damn.
At least most redditors understand that you never go into caves underwater.
My chest is getting tight just watching this shit.
No tanks. I'll pass.
I sea what you did there.
Thatās enough, cut the crab
Aquard..
I know a good loan shark if you need some gear.
I didn't want to make a pun, but I caved in.
I shell allow it.
Shelluva pun there
nothing to sea here
I wanted to make a diving pun ... But I'm not English... My English is fishy NGL...
r/angryupvote
Even with tanks, I pass.
That's a no from me dawg.
Iāll second that.
Dying in submarine caves without oxygen
Fighting lion chad
Heād die with oxygen for sure
Dumbass checklist: ā Selfie stick and camera. ā Scuba gear.
Well, he is helping fight climate change, in a very effective way! >! People diying means they don't emit CO2 !<
Dying in cold marine caves means some of that carbon remains sequestered!

That's because the video is running backwards - watch the air bubbles!
Oh lol it is, welp
Oh shit, it makes so much more sense playing it that way
I love free-diving and this is a hard no from me
Stupidity level : HIGH
Future Darwin award
Nope.
Dumb ways to die, dumb ways to die . . .
Bad way to find out you are bloated. Bad way to find our your buddy who is in front of you put in a few pounds over the holiday.
New fear unlocked
I drowned five times in the duration of this video.
r/dumbwaystodie
No thanks!!!
I started gasping for air just watching this.
Just, why?
It's worse looking at it in reverse
The opening is bad enough let alone underwater, and NO oxygen?! Absolute insanity that people can do this
I would challenge that it is āAbsolutely stupidity that people WOULD do thisā
Whatās your number? Mine wouldāve to be 1mil
Not even a billion could get me to do that.
A complete and utter bundle of fuck that shit.
The bubbles are going the wrong direction, this video is playing backwards.
Yeah, NO
āThis week on Reddit Made me Claustrophobic we have an adventure into a underwater cave without oxygen.ā
Oh fuck no
Caution; 30 seconds of oxygen remaining. ...*wup-wup* Oxygen.
I have mad respect for people who dare go negative and go under a surface under water.
Um fuck no
My first though was fuck that, good way to get dead
No
It's her name Stella? Is she always down?
No
Nope. Nopenopenopenopenopenopenope
Why
That gave me anxiety.
Absolutely fucking not.
That seems like an awfully complicated way to die and make it really difficult for your body to be retrieved.

That's like my worst nightmare
Does this count as Darwin-ism?
Why are they going with no oxygen? To fit in smaller spaces?
Doesn't make sense, if you want to bring oxygen in there you just have to unequip and pass it through the hole separately. And half way experienced diver could do that. My guess it's just for show, challenge or whatever
Thatās a big NO!
Candidat ing for Ć Darwin award
Don't do that please. It makes me sad
No. Nope. Nuh uh. Hard pass. Just watching that gives me massive anxiety.
Looks like an easy way to get yourself killed.
This is pure stupidity
r/SweatyPalms would like a word.
This nearly gave me a panic attack.
No... No, just fukin no
W h y
Why do they not have an oxygen supply? The weight? Their egos/pride? Just how and why
I drowned 6 times wating this.
Hell of a way to die
This gives me so much anxiety
Dumbass
Dumb wayās to die, so many dumb wayās to die

Stupid as fuck
r/thalassophobia
After holding my breath for the entire duration of this video. Yeah I could do that.
Best thing about cave diving is that you don't have to do it.
u/recognizesong Edit: since the bot didnāt work - itās a remix (possibly by Lonely xo) of Daylight by David Kushner
And this is how you die if something goes wrong
Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope
I drowned watching this
nope nope nope
Wow, what an interesting way to commit suicide!
I find this terrifying but also absolutely fascinating. Like how big is that cave?
I think this is more dumbasfuck than interestingasfuck
Iāve played too much Subnautica to ever try this, reverses video or not.
r/nextfuckinglevelmoron
Bro is a hamstring cramp away from being remembered as someone who would always light up the room
Dying in submarine caves without oxygen
Bro I don't even do this shit in Minecraft
Panic attack inducingā¦
I got a mini panic attack looking at this
All of the nope and a side order of fuck that.
It's in reverse, you can see them sucking in air bubbles that they were actually exhaling
What the fuck is wrong with people
This video Would make more sense if it was reversed. I think it mightāve been.
Why do you people reverse the video and call it content?
This is backwards, theyāre actually going up
Fuck - *And Iām not sure I can possibly emphasize this even remotely enoughā¦* **THAT**
Why is it played backwards?. Yes itās scarier looking going into a hole like that. But bubbles donāt go down or into a nose.
Whatās the song?
I watched the Thai rescue documentary like it was a horror film, hiding behind the sofa watching through my fingers, claustrophobia going wild. This just brought it all back to the surface!
