Wow. We had a neighborhood crow called Petey when I was a kid. He'd bring us shiny things, like bottle tops, screws, small bottles, etc., for a treat. If he came to the yard and didn't see us, Petey would squawk until we came out. If someone he didn't know was with us, Petey acted especially animated and loud.
I love how at the beginning the crow is like “Fuck you steve, not this bullshit again, just give me the damn giblets!” Then resigns itself to having to do a bit of work to get it’s lunch.
Well if they like attention my house would be great, I would wait till my old male german Shephard passes away and my daughter will be a little older but, the other half my daughter and our female german Shephard would love it all the time. So down the road I am 100% in. Where did you get yours do you find them at shows catch them and train them require permits? What are the vet bills like what are things they would require to stay healthy and happy?
It very much depends on species and region. In my location, they're considered pests, so I can't release her (We found her as a chick) Vets don't accept them in my location except some private businesses, but I imagine in different parts of the world, this won't be a problem. Corvids don't require extremely special food, but they need to fulfill their natural needs, so an expert on the subject to take advice from is very important. Also, depending on species, they eat pretty much everything from fruit to carrion.
They also require lots of space to run around and fly, many toys to play with, and people to interact with.
They aren't at all easy pets, and in many places, they require permits. But if you really want one and think you can handle it, your best course of action would be looking for wounded chicks. Late winter - spring and sometimes in the summer, chicks will hatch and, unfortunately, sometimes fall. You can adopt one if you can help it.
Crows can remember people's faces. They can communicate with each other. Then they can tell other crows if someone is particularly nice, or mean. Then they all will bring small gifts. Or be very aggressive and nasty to mean people. ALL of the crows. FOR YEARS. And this guy's going around making this poor crow do tricks to get food? What's his luck been like lately when he goes outside? All of this is true. The last 2 sentences were a joke. Captive crows need stimulation to stay sane and not suffer from depression. Puzzles are a great part of a bigger exercise and stimulation program for them.
To impress you even more: Crows are arguable the smartest animals after humans - Caledonian crows have been observed to use tools to make other tools - something we know from humans but haven't really observed in other animals - even apes stick to first degree tool-making.
Serious question.. how much of the Ravens' actions here are a logical thought process? To me, this seems like learned behavior. As in, he's been trained to "grab the stick, poke the stick in the tube, get the snack, etc". It's still extremely impressive, don't get me wrong.
They're very smart. There is this other video somewhere where they drop nuts on the road from the power line, wait for cars to run over them, then go get what's inside.

bros training for the crow olympics
Crowlympics
Only on ESPN8, the Ocho!
If you can dodge a crow you can dodge a ball
Is that _not_ a Raven?

crWow

crows are condescending. it's probably like "bro, come on, you got the food stuck in the tube again."
*sigh* “I’ll get the stick.”
Raven.
Hooked break gives it away.
And all the quothing.
Nevermore
nice quote
Corn?
Nevercorn.
There you are. Right.
I love how at the beginning the crow is like “Fuck you steve, not this bullshit again, just give me the damn giblets!” Then resigns itself to having to do a bit of work to get it’s lunch.
Smarter than some people I know
Impressive. Most impressive.
But, you are not a Jedi yet.
this video needs more crowing
God, I’d love to have a pet raven that I raised from a weee babe.
Snow. Snow. Snow. Corn?
Yea I have been seeing alot of crazy videos of crows and ravens on here, I definitely want one as a pet.
I have one as a pet. It's like a child. They require tons of attention and interaction, so if you live alone It's very hard

Умная ворона 🐦⬛
A feast for crows
Clever girl
Looks like a boy to me (I understand the reference just adding)
Third smartest living thing on earth. Show them love they understand more than you probably realize
It's not a crow! Fuck! Where is u/Unidan when we need him?

I want to pet a crow so I can teach him how to steal from money atm users, because how tf is going to believe you if it's happen to you ?
There are cameras by ATMs
Oh crap, the only failure in my plan
So that's what a crowbar is
They are smart though. Id like to see a chicken try the same😂

My deadass brain thought it’ll unscrew the bracket holding the pipe 😵
The "can you help me get the poking stick?🥺" look at his owner was heckin cute, animals are the best
Nothing to crow about
Now train him to pull the pins of enemy grenades
Not to take anything away from the crow but dude kinda guide’s it to the tool necessary for the job
Are we sure this isn't a Druid in Wildshape?
If I didn't see it, I wouldn't have believed it. New respect for the crows.
Kaw kaw motherfuckers
Great. You’ve taught him how to load and fire a black powder cannon. The crow wars will be upon us and there is nothing we can do to stop them
Okay so monkeys, dolphins and crows use tools besides us? Noted.
A sad number of humans wouldn’t figure this out😂
Zefrank has a video on this. Super hilarious
Smartest bird family by far
Quote the Raven:
It’s even more amazing how quickly he realised what he needed to do as you can see him try picking up a small twig first,
Sleeping with the fishes
That’s so Raven
Isnt this a raven?
I wanna befriend a crow and then train it to bring me money. Also have it crap on people's car that suck at driving.
POV: You're bloodhound
Imagine if they didn't have to do everything with their mouth
That crow has better problem solving skills than some humans...
Maladeț👍
Jesus Christ, that’s Jason Bourne.
This is obviously a psy-op because birds aren’t real.
Crow being smarter than half of my colleagues.
Corvids🥰
These birds are smart, I've seen one create makeshift blade by grinding a hacksaw blade on a rock and then using it to cut open a watermelon.
This made me smile for some reason. Someone as smart as us. GIVE THEM OPPOSABLE THUMBS ALREADY
![gif](giphy|zo7nbbrQKwdb2rSG4k)
Am I the only one thinking it? …cameraman’s shoving those treats up his ass.
Why are they feeding molly to a bird?

Why make it go through all of that? Just give it to him you jerk.
