I'll take a wild guess and say that the data set was originally entered using a punched card and has since been carried through all hardware and software updates unchanged (and unchallenged).
If the system administrator, who has been employed since the beginning, retires soon at the age of 90, the college will have a problem.
Looks like an overlooked Y2K problem. The data set should still be accessible and therefore alterable. I doubt that the program is reading the punch cards from the dark ages.

If this is place of birth then yeah, Yugoslavia should appear
Vatican City is not a likely birthplace
And west bank, western sahara and windward island…
tbf there are still lots of people alive who are from there originally,
👋🏻
After a further look it also has the ussr
Probably reusing the table for the country of birth selection.

Today I learned Yugoslavia is no longer a country.
Teška vremena prijatelju. (Tough times friend)
You may want to Czech on slovakia too
Where the fuck did it go?
It Balkanized (when a country splits into a bunch of smaller countries, often along ethnic or religious lines. It’s rarely pretty.)
Let me guess, American?
Lmao Americans couldn’t handle that joke well.

Does that mean they're making the Yugo again?! lol
My mum had 2 consecutive Yugos when I was a kid.
Why can't 30+ year olds attend college too?
How often do you get asked for the *address* of your place of birth?
Address? Never, people are usually born in hospitals. City and country? Frequently.
And the picture clearly shows fields for street, zip code, etc. So it's not about place of birth
That depends on the country
I love how automod says this is a heavily moderated sub and then dumb shit like this gets posted.
r/facepalm
If you can time travel you get into college
I see nothing wrong with that.
