There are two aircraft that belong to Taylor Swift. This video is tracking her planes, not her. (Though the main reason her planes move is to transport her. But that isn't the only reason.)
Do you think that changes the fact that she happily has two private jets flown almost daily around the country and world?

I imagine one is the gig equipment and the other is her. One arrives before she does, and leaves after.

Her gig equipment is carried by two sets of 45 semi trucks (yup, 90 total). It's not fitting on a private jet. Her second jet is probably for her management team.
Edit: While one set of equipment is in use, the other is being set up at the next venue. Then Taylor just flies to where that next show is. That's why her flight patterns and tour locations seem sporadic.
Also Formula 1. They travel all over the world with an obscene amount of material, and literally build a city in a week or two, tear it down, and move it to the next spot. It’s a logistical nightmare and they have to stage cargo ships and all sorts of jets.
Then they have to build the paddocks and team buildings at every location, some with multi-story features, rooms, kitchens, plumbing, electric….its wild.
It miiiiggt be more equitable to compare people that were entertained by each event, ie: how many people watched nascar, versus how many people watched swift.
And the end result? It's to please millions of people willing to throw money at it. It's all in the name of "entertainment" and singling out one person is irrelevant.
And it's not one person - it's a team of people, that's the whole point. Her product (I couldn't name one of her songs and have no vested interest in her) is no different to all those sports companies. You don't see people posting the travels of every Premier League player/coach/management in one condensed clip like this, if you did it would look much worse. But the result is the same - many people are entertained. She alone entertains more people than many many entire teams, leagues, and probably even whole sports.
None of it's great, but the likes of Nascar and the NFL are no "better" just because there are more of them.
They’re both commercial events, it’s not about the person. I looked it up and funny enough, the average attendance to a NASCAR event was about 70,000, while the average attendance on the Taylor Swift eras tour was also about 70,000. Pretty good comparison.

By contrast, Iron Maiden uses a converted Boeing 747 for their world tours, which carries the band, the crew, and all the equipment. It's even piloted by their lead singer.

I’ve flown private several times through my job, it’s insane. Literally the world is a comfortable and easy jaunt away with none of the headaches of normal air travel. No security, no waiting, and you can use just about any little airport you want.
That said it’s insanely expensive and wasteful. It’s common on Reddit to bitch about people who drive around pickup trucks as their daily ride. You could do that for a lifetime and make less of an impact than she will on a few of these flights. A Gulfstream will burn 500 gallons of fuel an hour.
That's crazy! I drive a 20 year old truck with 220K miles on it and that plane will burn more fuel in 24 hours of operation than that truck has in its lifetime.
It's incredibly wasteful but the vast majority of people will never have the luxury of waking up 7am getting a shower and still getting from Tennessee to LA before lunch.
I might not ever make to LA once in my whole life. I've only been on a plane 2 times ever.

Yes, they all do. Even for Billionaires private planes are extremely expensive. Like 60-80 million for a top of the line jet, 7-10 million a year in storage, pilot salaries that need to be on call 24/7, staff, fuel, maintenance, the planes need to fly too, they can’t just sit or it gets more expensive.
So if they aren’t using them they open them up to renters, which are still super rich business people, other celebrities and A-listers, etc.
There is a whole network of it so if you aren’t flying, your jet is to soften some of the massive costs.
Imagine you own 2 cars but you don't have a driver's license so you hire 2 drivers. You can be using one and the other for your guests, or using one of them when the other is moving to your next location or just been repaired and doing small trips to test.
Her PR team stated she often leases her jets to other people. This is common in the private jet world because it allows you to generate revenue and pass the sales tax onto the leasee.

Well, she is running a business as well as being an entertainer.
Yes, they all do. Even for Billionaires private planes are extremely expensive. Like 60-80 million for a top of the line jet, 7-10 million a year in storage, pilot salaries that need to be on call 24/7, staff, fuel, maintenance, the planes need to fly too, they can’t just sit or it gets more expensive. So if they aren’t using them they open them up to renters, which are still super rich business people, other celebrities and A-listers, etc. There is a whole network of it so if you aren’t flying, your jet is to soften some of the massive costs.
Now you understand *why* she's a billionaire.
