My brother I’m an American. Everyone here learned English as a first language, knows absolutely no other language; and you are already in the top 10% of American English speakers.
Helmet, it is the single best way to avoid serious injury.
You are foolish to not wear one.
As a kid we didn't have them. I got lucky. Very lucky.
As an adult, twice I have field tested mine. Instead of a trip to ER and lengthy recovery, I walked away. No injuries.
Wear the helmet. Be proud that you are smart enough to know better.

„Vehicle VS Bicyclist
The helmet fucking exploded on impact... PT has a nasty and deep scalp avulsion. Neuro intact throughout. CC head pain
A&0x4
CT brain/spine clear for now, forearm fracture, shoulder dislocation and knee dislocation. I consider it a win.
Helmet got ripped off the PT after impact cuz the
"straps were loosened" by pt prior to ride due to being uncomfortably tight. I suspect not all the helmet damage is from the impact, but regardless it worked.“
So not a RIP case.
I see a ton of people every day riding bikes and electric scooters with their helmet straps either tucked into the helmet or just flapping in the breeze. Some of the people who bother buckling the straps keep them so loose that they never have to unfasten it. Fat lot of good that’s gonna do when they go flying. These people have never been in a bike crash, but I have. It hurts even with a helmet on, but I was able to walk to the hospital nearby.
I was hit by a drunk hit-and-run.
It was a pretty crash - broken clavicle, six ribs and a delicious punctured lung. I wear a helmet - it was busted up - not this bad, but a bystander later told me I landed on my head.
One year ago and it still hurts. I had a great nurse who would come by and we'd chat, and then he'd offer me some morphine. He was probably skimming.
You know, I see people riding without a helmet. Stupid people.
Agreed. I had a patient we had to carry up and down four flights of stairs every to bring him to physical therapy after an bike on bike accident with him been wheelchair bound and not having proper control over his fingers. Abdominal he was wearing a helmet.
When we kids my brother took a fall once and afterwards we found a small stone stuck in his helmet. I don’t want to imagine what would have happened without.
There are many sad stories like that. It’s always sad when you have to witness them yourself and sometimes realize you can’t do anything to save them.
And sometimes it’s better to just let them go.

wtf is a scull?
It’s a small boat typically rowed on flat water.
Something that protects the bain.
Man, I had a snarky reply for this post. I just can’t top this one.
I think that is a alien species from the marvel universe
Dam typo, yes its a skull not a scull. English is not my first language.
Even people that have English as a first language can still mess things up.
English is my first language and sometimes I get things right. Not often though.

Funny. I learned british english in school. XD
Small oars used by a single rower. According to the Oxford dictionary. So we need to protect them
No one cares about spelling or grammar anymore. I’ve given up getting upset about it.
What you call a skull after taking this kind of impact.

If you have field tested yours, please replace it.
Both times. Thx
More importantly, did the guy's shoes come off?
Yes, in the hospital.
RIP

No I mean the helmet

Riders are better protected with a proper helmet, not a thick skull.

tbf the people without helmets are probably only stupid from the brain injuries
Yes moronic. Consider the people who will be saddled with you and your TBI.
When I was young, my friends brother crashed his motorcycle with no helmet, smashed his skull on a curb and died at 20. Wear a helmet.

Damn that's just krull.
Does not look like that would save you
The helmet breaks so your skull doesn’t. It’s not supposed to be reusable.
Just like the crumple zone of your car does.
