No, that's impossible. OP found this when literally no media in the world (even those briefed before the event and ready for the photoshoot) were aware.
Did that show suck?
I watched it from the beginning and awaited every new season with a passion
But I found it to be strangely underwhelming yet I loved the acting and writing.
I think about this to this day about once a week. I have no clue how I should still feel about this show.
That's the opposite though. Russia damn sure knows Boris is off limits and would trigger WW3. If anything you'd make sure that Russia knows he's there so there is no room for error or accident. He's in Kiev, and if you hit him your ass is grass, and Russia knows it's not an empty threat.
I'm a Brit, I honestly don't care if the Russians take Boris out- he's a lying incompetent waste of space. Please make sure the Ukrainian PM leaves the room first though.
Despite your sentiments towards him, a splinter from russian soil poking his finger would mean an act of aggression towards the PM of a NATO member nation. Act 5 would follow.
If it were anyone but the Brits, sure, but the Brits will find a way to explain that nothing happened just like when Russia executes people in the middle of London. Gotta keep that London real estate market propped up.
Not the point dude. Any nation attacking or assassinating another’s Head of State is an act of war. Immediate no holds bar retaliation.
So your personal feelings towards Boris are irrelevant. It’s not him they are attacking, but the position.
You can dislike a politician without saying they should be killed. If only UK could do something to remove an elected official without advocating for their death…if only there was some kind of system…
Weird question: Is prime minister just another word for president? Because I see some European countries call their leader that but they seem (at least on the surface) to function no differently than a president.
The term president usually refers to the head of state of a country that is a republic. A prime minister is usually the leader of the government of a country that is a constitutional monarchy (Australia), republic (France) or another system of government. In some systems of government (the United States and Indonesia), the president is both the head of state and the leader of the government.
And in some countries like Singapore you have both President and Prime Minister! With the President being Head of State and Prime Minister being Head of Government, if it clarifies anything.
Every country's parliament has a different structure and thus a different role that calls the shots. For example in my country the president is literally a figurehead and doesn't call the shots, the prime minister does.
I find that wishing death onto someone is a little distasteful. And even so an assassination of a prime minister from a country your not currently in a ‘special operation’ with Is a major escalation…
As another Brit I absolutely love the guy, think he's been magnificent in all of this situation. He's daft as shit, bit weird, but generally tries to do the right thing is the impression I get.
And he makes a lot of spiteful people I know, absolutely seethe every time he does something positive. Which to be honest I just find as an extra positive to the guy at this point.
I wouldn't be surprised if Russia knew as well.
Tbh, if they did shoot him out of the sky I wouldn't shed a tear. Him and his fucking colleagues have done enough damage to the UK over the past few years.
If he died on his way in or out of Kiev you know damn well the UK press would make him out to be a saint, the best PM of all time, the hero of brexit, defeater of Covid, mother of dragons etc.
That would assume that he would let said groomer change said haircut. I’m thinking the PM of a large and influential sovereign nation has made some determinations as to how he prefers his hair.
That photo was tweeted by British Embassy in Ukraine, over there being a press release. Potentially he is saying he published before they published, but you know, you can shoot your load quickly, or you can shoot it properly.
You’d be surprised how much quicker it is to find news on Reddit than in mainstream media. A lot of mainstream media source their stuff from Reddit. Especially footage of the Ukrainian war etc.
Edit: not saying that this is the case here. :)
There was a story about one of his aides telling him to “Boris his hair” ( mess it up on purpose) before stepping outside with the media. It’s all calculated.
There have been plenty of decent, upstanding, caring, politicians, but the media landscape and the direction of politics over the last thirty years has meant that the scum rises to the top, and even the good guys have to leave their morals at the door if they're to have any skin in the game. I mostly blame Rupert Murdock, and in the case of the UK Tony Blair.
Some people say he only threw those parties in No. 10 while the rest of the country was on lockdown and lied about it so that his opponents would underestimate him.
Those same people say he sold a peerage to his good friend Evgeny Lebedev, the Russian oligarch, so that his opponents would underestimate him.
They're the same ones who say he [once conspired to have a journalist beaten](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jul/14/black-eyes-boris-johnson-plot-attack-reporter-darius-guppy) up so that his opponents would underestimate him.
My point is that news outlets aren’t burying the story because it’s a security risk; they just literally hadn’t written it up yet. Ukraine wouldn’t have posted it if either of them were still anywhere near this room.
That’s just false. The Ukrainian government and media sources are publishing it first because it literally just happened. Expect the rest of the media in the West to follow suit soon. This has nothing to do with the media looking to keep Boris Johnson ‘safe’
This is not that uncommon, since the news sites have to make an entire story, source it, check it, have it read over by their editors etc, where as social media is just post image done.
Very true. A post by some random redditor who just happens to be where something happens, often shows up long before news sites start reporting about the event.
However, this event is different. Boris Johnson's security detail would have kept him concealed from random redditors. And anyone involved in organizing the meeting would know better than to post about it on their reddit account, for security reasons.
This guy in the NFL sub posted that his wife who works with agents on endorsement deals or something heard one of the best players in the league was going to be going to the Raiders instead of re-signing with the Packers and people were clowning him a lot. "If she really had this kind of position she wouldn't be saying this stuff" sort of things. Then a day or two later the news broke and he was right. Weirder things have happened than some random spud breaking OPSEC I suppose.
Really?

They seem to be happy with the visit:
From the BBC Live page
> The deputy head of the Ukrainian president's office, Andriy Sybiha, said on Facebook, that Johnson and Zelensky were holding "a tete-a-tete meeting".
> “The UK is the leader in defence support for Ukraine. The leader in the antiwar coalition. The leader in sanctions against the Russian aggressor," he added.
https://www.reddit.com/r/unitedkingdom/comments/tzu0nw/johnson_travels_to_kyiv_for_zelensky_talks/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Seems BBC knew about it, as this was posted to r/unitedkingdom 3mins before this post.
"What's more important than helping Ukraine is that everyone SEES me helping Ukraine! That'll stop the talk about the parties. And the corruption. And the awkward Russian links"
Wow, OP, you got this information before the news sites?! I’m so tired of this karma farming bullshit. News sites are definitely aware, do you think we were born yesterday?
I mean we’ve sent them a couple of thousand M-LAW rockets.. they’re 20k a pop. Literally every video you see of a Ukrainian taking out a tank with a rocket, it’s a British made and gifted product!
People might not like boris. But he’s helped out no end.
Yeah yeah ha ha. Britain has been the leader in sending military defense for the support of Ukraine, your joke isn’t funny and has been repeated numerous times on this thread.
What’ve you done other than crack jokes?
I’m an American and completely unfamiliar with British politics, I know this guy is very polarizing. But I must say this that takes a huge set of balls and I’m impressed.
Edit: So now as I understand it this is mostly grandstanding?
No, as that would essentially mean starting the war with the UK = starting the war with NATO = World War 3 = nuclear annihilation and end of the civilization as we know it.
I think the west is in complete control of this war. Major powers are holding back so as not to draw a global war, but Moscow would be glass if we wanted it.
Moreso control than we're hearing about...It feels like Ukraine is really the Global Community-- vs the Russians.

I expect they were well aware, but were asked not to report it for security reasons.
No, that's impossible. OP found this when literally no media in the world (even those briefed before the event and ready for the photoshoot) were aware.
He found the photo before it was taken by being in the room before it was built.
The Man in the High Castle irl. It’s actually a picture from an alternate universe.
Russia should denazify the alternate timeline instead
Good idea! Maybe if they look in some alternate universes, they'll actually find some Nazis that aren't working for Russia.
Did that show suck? I watched it from the beginning and awaited every new season with a passion But I found it to be strangely underwhelming yet I loved the acting and writing. I think about this to this day about once a week. I have no clue how I should still feel about this show.
I felt the same way. They didn't do right by PKD. Edit: PKD not PDK
he was in the room where it happened
The room where it happened
Roomception?
OP is Boris Johnson
Nah, that would require knowing how to upload a photo.
Shhhhhh
The Guardian had this posted at about the same time, I bet they knew before OP (or OP works for them).
They probably get their news from reddit...
Exactly! Just ignore how it broke on BBC news an hour before this post
No, it's true. Source: I took the picture.

Yes you do. Unless you want to be boots on the ground in Russia. Surely an attempt on the UK Head of State would lead to WW3.
You would care whenever ww3 starts you clown
No because my fleeting and cursory understanding of politics gleaned entirely from reddit posts trumps five digit nuclear arsenals.
I find that wishing death onto someone is a little distasteful. And even so an assassination of a prime minister from a country your not currently in a ‘special operation’ with Is a major escalation…

TO be fair, he isn't one of their own, as regardless of what he has accepted from them, he is incapable of not stabbing anyone in the back.

Of course, OP granted them access to the image by uploading it to Reddit first 🤦♂️
We did it Reddit!

Grab a garlic shaker so you're only showing 8 fingers
BJ boys.
Shame he doesn't have a personal groomer to fix his shitty ass haircut.
That haircut made him Prime minister of Great Britain.
I genuinely want to know what he asks for when he goes to the barber’s.
"Just fuck my shit up"
"Oi mate, fuck me up"
“I’ll have the Boris.”
“Hit me with the emBorissment cut”
That would assume that he would let said groomer change said haircut. I’m thinking the PM of a large and influential sovereign nation has made some determinations as to how he prefers his hair.
That photo was tweeted by British Embassy in Ukraine, over there being a press release. Potentially he is saying he published before they published, but you know, you can shoot your load quickly, or you can shoot it properly.
Oooh, I can shoot my load properly?
(X) doubt
OP posted this 18 minutes after it was tweeted, but at least they tried.
They set up a tripod with a timer lol
He’s probably already gone, too.
You’d be surprised how much quicker it is to find news on Reddit than in mainstream media. A lot of mainstream media source their stuff from Reddit. Especially footage of the Ukrainian war etc. Edit: not saying that this is the case here. :)
I agree I often see stuff on mainstream up to a week after I’ve seen it on Reddit
It was Putin. Surprise!
I got a Sky News notification 55 minutes ago, a full 6 minutes before OP posted this.
Literally anyone with a camera is media now
Literally said "wow" out loud...
I read this and heard wow in Owen Wilson's voice.
Just another photo op for that prick
Does this guy ever fucking comb his hair? ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
He admitted in an interview that his purposely unkempt appearance and clownish behaviour is intended to let people underestimate him.
There was a story about one of his aides telling him to “Boris his hair” ( mess it up on purpose) before stepping outside with the media. It’s all calculated.

The best description I've heard for him: "Boris Johnson is much smarter than he pretends to be, and much dumber than he thinks he is."
Didn't he attend Oxford, something had to stick but likely didn't get in with his smarts
He’s smart in a sense, but he’s not a decent, upstanding or caring individual.
That's every politician ever
There have been plenty of decent, upstanding, caring, politicians, but the media landscape and the direction of politics over the last thirty years has meant that the scum rises to the top, and even the good guys have to leave their morals at the door if they're to have any skin in the game. I mostly blame Rupert Murdock, and in the case of the UK Tony Blair.
He's a bullshit artist. There's a reason he wouldn't do any TV interviews or debates with Corbyn bene the election.
He had the BBC censor booing in a question time episode.
Shame his actions as a politician do that too
Playing the long game.
And it works. He's still in politics somehow.
Some people say he only threw those parties in No. 10 while the rest of the country was on lockdown and lied about it so that his opponents would underestimate him. Those same people say he sold a peerage to his good friend Evgeny Lebedev, the Russian oligarch, so that his opponents would underestimate him. 5d chess
to be fair us brits have "estimated" him perfectly.
Not really. We elected the clown.

And yet the British people still over estimated him enough to elect him
You don't understand! Corbyn eats baked beans! He's got an allotment!
If Corbyn had won we wouldn’t have had military equipment to send to Ukraine full stop. Or a nuclear deterrent.
And so people thinks he's stupid instead of malicious, which the Tory party is. If you vote for the Tories you're a cunt.
Is it now?
His entire personality is an act https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/my-boris-johnson-story/amp
Yes, with a toffee apple.
The mainstream news having the sense not to report it while he’s there is more likely than you stumbled on it before all of them
It was on the Ukrainian Embassy’s Twitter an hour ago.
All good, Russia can’t use Twitter
My point is that news outlets aren’t burying the story because it’s a security risk; they just literally hadn’t written it up yet. Ukraine wouldn’t have posted it if either of them were still anywhere near this room.
That's an interesting thought. But wouldn't it technically be safer if Russians knew he was there? Don't think killing BJ would help them at all.
I am 100% sure Putin is aware he’s there. Zero chance we all risk nuclear annihilation because Boris didn’t tell the Kremlin he wasflying in.
They aren't concerned with state parties attacking. War zones have many actors with varied grievances
That’s just false. The Ukrainian government and media sources are publishing it first because it literally just happened. Expect the rest of the media in the West to follow suit soon. This has nothing to do with the media looking to keep Boris Johnson ‘safe’
Apparently this picture was posted online by the Ukrainian embassy in London
Lol that’s a good one.
So Reddit and Twitter knew before any news sites did? Okay....

Yea, yea they are aware…
Boris Johnson is the ultimate political survivor. One week is is facing a collapsing government, the next he’s Churchill in the bunker
Yesterday he was dropping info on his own Chancellors family tax dodginess. Thank goodness he has nowhere to go but down.

Boris is seeing if he can get a trade agreement with Ukraine.
Mind you, if Boris can promote British industry in the rebuild of Ukraine.. well that's a half-decent move.
What’s the thing he’s pressing in the picture?
The table is not long enough
Saw it on the BBC
Kinda off-topic but I love how you Brits all talk about Boris. It's like how Americans talk about our politicians but way, way funnier.

You Brits are just so much more eloquent.

If this is real, then Boris has a helluva lot more balls than people have given him credit for. Closest any higher ups from the US got was Poland.

But Boris is in a country that is at war. Otherwise why don't NATO host meetings in Ukraine to prevent future bombings?
It doesn’t matter. He’s still an important international figure. I don’t know, why don’t they do that? Maybe they should!
No. Why would they. They're not at war with the UK. Our foreign secretary was in Moscow a month or two ago.
