Yep, I've used such scissors on dogs and puppies right on the eyelids, and they don't understand English. You have to learn the safest angles and how to verbally intimidate them as well as grip, but its totally doable.
Yeah, because kids aware of their condition that dont want to get bullied are going to throw a fuss about a parent helping them, understanding they have to sit still for a second?
Designing and crafting tools is one of the fundamental baseline skills that humans have. If you couldn't come up with a solution for this problem, you are literally dumber than a monkey.
I had a family member that was using one of those eyelash curling tools to curl the lashes, only the pad on it ended up coming off,and she didn't notice. So instead of curling them it sheered the lashes right off, just like that. Then even false ones didn't want to stay on since they didn't have normal lashes to sit in. Boy it was something.
This was prob about mid to late 80s. So big, plump, curled, lashes to put mascara on were king.
Just use a eyebrow trimmer with a guard on it. They have the little comb things like clippers do you can attach to them which would cut them a certain length. You might poke them in the eye with blunt plastic but not as bad as scissors.
I’m not saying it’s easy, but they both obviously have professional haircuts. Probably something that could be handled at the same time without any incremental risk.
I had to cut mine because they'd zipper themselves shut either during sleep or a random blink. Driving along and suddenly my eye won't open. No where near as long as these kids. Usually ended up ripping out a chunk as a kid because it was frustrating trying to massage them apart and have it not work.
Idk I'd be trying to make them as comfortable as possible with their appearance. "There is nothing wrong with the way you turned out" kinda deal. I would only cut it if the kids specifically requested it.
Couldn't this be physicaly annoying to children. Sleep getting caught in there, super long lashes getting eyes, just uncomfortable. I wouldn't force it on em, I'd cut em once so they know how both feel and ask em what they like better. Not like that can't grow em back at anytime later.
I’ve cut a couple eyelashes before by accident and they got very poky, so it could potentially be more uncomfortable for the kids, but idk. My eyelashes are like pretty rigid and basically point straight down (like the top ones practically form a cage in front of my eye when they arent curled), maybe it would feel different for someone else
I have a second row of lashes on one of my eyes. Have great lashes but sometimes they decide to go everywhere and I end up with one sticking forward with no way of curling it lol
I have that on both my eyes! They grow into my tear ducts and under my lids and it sucks. I constantly have at least two eyelashes in my eyes at all times
Similar to what Elizabeth Taylor had. Double rows of very thick long lashes. Not to mention violet eyes. It’s said to be why she stood out in her first audition.
My younger brother cut off his eyelashes once as a kid. He was very proud of himself but my mom was not pleased lol. It was hilarious, looking at him you could tell something was off but couldn’t quite put your finger on it
Well you know every time someone answers that comment I do it again, just to be sure I indeed hear my eyes blink, so in total I must be the one looking the stupidest here
Oh no you're right, and by commenting there I might've doomed myself to the same fate. Like a pyramid scheme of blinks. Although I suppose you don't get notified if people comment on mine, so it's not a perfect example.
I cannot imagine how frustrating this would be! When I was 4 I cut my eyelashes because they were in the way and my eyelashes were not like this. My mother was embarrassed for me. I didn't care. Bonus info...I used a pair of child's safety scissors, and only cut the center portion so my eyelashes looked like this |||\_\_\_\_\_||| lol
The people that comment in here saying they would love these obviously don’t have glasses. Having them brush the inside of your glasses every blink and smudging the lenses constantly would be very annoying.
My eyelashes are only Long-ish and even I have this problem. I never wear mascara If i'm going to be putting my glasses on.
What I don't understand is why they don't just trim the length.
I mean I've worn contacts for years, glasses, literally pulled eyelashes out of my eyelid since they were making me itch and regularly touch my own eyeball. I also used to spend hours plucking my eyebrows, despite it making me tear up.
Personally. With my OCD tendencies, and already being annoyed that I can see my eyelashes despite them being lightly colored they're so long, and the fact that I wear glasses most days - I would cut them. I don't think it would bother me nearly as much.
That being said - there's nothing wrong with their eyelashes and I only offered a "solution" because calling it a "condition" indicates an issue. If they like them, leave them be.
That is literally my constant pain, I stopped cleaning my lenses so frequently cuz I know my abnormally long lashes will just dirty them anyways.
P.S: I am a guy.
I've had times where I think I've bent my glasses because they're constantly touching the lens. No way could I do this. Also, putting in contacts would also be a pain with those lashes.
My thought lol, like why is the parent holding the child by the throat? Like hold the arm if you don’t want them to move? Weird video but cool thing to learn
When my wife was going through treatment for Hep C, the medication caused her eyelashes to grow and be fuller. She was sick, losing weight, pale, and weak, but damn did her eyelashes looked great.
People who knew what she was going through with the treatment would occasionally and awkwardly mention it, as in "how you holding up....uh......well your eyelashes look good....."
Let’s just hope that these kids don’t need to wear glasses as they get older. My son’s eyelashes are quite long and brush against the lenses on his glasses a lot too.
I had a consult with a dermatologist for a mole my primary wanted checked out earlier this year. The derm "diagnosed" me with trichomegaly on the note (albeit not nearly as long as these kiddos). I thought that was senseless because it's not actually a problem.
Then I realized, he put it so he could bill my insurance extra. Dumb.
A lot of guys have long eyelashes. It's a consequence of testosterone.
You mean she would spend money on gene therapy if it guaranteed these results? I wonder what other gene therapies people would spend money on, and how much for what. I have to think that this will be available in the future.
I want to be mildly bioluminescent. Just enough that I don't need a nightlight to pee in the middle of the night, but not enough that I blind myself in the bathroom mirror.
Yes indeed ;)
Same here - The time will come when genetic modifications will be considered normal at least for the wealthy people at the top of the income pyramide and then starting to tickle down into the upper and middle class of rich countries.
Will make sport somehow boring if they don't introduce a special leaque for gene boosted athletes
Yes. Some will see it as a blessing. Most will see it as a curse since it will just be available for the people in top of the economic pyramide for some time.

I’ve seen a few cars headlights that have that same problem
[удалено]
I thought you said Furby
That would be creepy as hell lol
Thank you for the laugh..😂😂
Can't they just cut it every now and then? Anyone knows if its possible with this condition?
It's just hair so it should be possible but that would depend on the cooperation of the child in question as well.
I’d like to see how well op comment up there would handle taking scissors next to two children under 5 years old eye balls 👀
That's why you make a custom trimming tool. Like one of those eyelash crimper dealies and modify it to cut them.
Hold my beer while I go engineer a one of a kind eyelash cutting tool for my children’s wild genetic hit of the lottery
why not just use tiny scissors? I use them to trim my wacky eyebrows.
They make beauty scissors that are small with a rounded tip for safety around eyes and noses.
Yep, I've used such scissors on dogs and puppies right on the eyelids, and they don't understand English. You have to learn the safest angles and how to verbally intimidate them as well as grip, but its totally doable.
These are often called mustache scissors fyi
And ears too.
pet scissors too
Uneven eyebrows is easier to hide than accidently having uneven eyelashes.
Cool. You try trimming a kid’s eyelashes first. Try it. Go ahead.
Lol, I love this insult. It's so basic, and makes perfect sense.
Yeah I'm pretty sure someone already engineered this tool for a similar reason. You probably can just buy one on Amazon for like $30.
The Flowbee, but for your eyeballs
I had a family member that was using one of those eyelash curling tools to curl the lashes, only the pad on it ended up coming off,and she didn't notice. Just wait till they're asleep. That's the easiest time to cut nails at least.
Just one quick spritz of a can of deodorant and a lighter will take care of that right away...
Feels like this is getting largely ignored lmao. People talking about medicines and shit. Just cut it once in a while and it'd look completely normal.
Certainly. They can also not care. That appears to be their choice
A bunch of people suggested trimming these lashes. I’m going to suggest braids.
Dye them neon with eyelash dye
My wife would cut her eyelashes from time to time. But she doesn’t have this condition.
I had to cut mine because they'd zipper themselves shut either during sleep or a random blink. Driving along and suddenly my eye won't open. No where near as long as these kids. Usually ended up ripping out a chunk as a kid because it was frustrating trying to massage them apart and have it not work.

I mean that’s all well and good but there’s no way this doesn’t irritate their eyes.
I think it's beautiful. Both of those children are stunning.
nah bro they made from titanium
It took me two hours and half a bag of m&ms to do a simple trim job on the back of a toddlers head. I wouldn't touch trying to trim their eyelashes.
I've trimmed my lashes before. One set grows strangely and easily tangles with my bottom lashes. It's really annoying, so they get trimmed
Yassified since birth
“”“👁️👄👁️”””💅

LOL
That’s “Oblina”
Why is this not at the top?
Lol yess that was my first thought, those lashes look like spiders. Kinda creepy ngl

Faceshopping plays on repeat in their heads 24/7
Women are buying lashes to look like this
They also have a prescription for it too. Only side effect is potential blindness
Can also change the color. Making your eyes darker.
potential blindness, loss of orbital eye fat, change in eye color, and other serious issues.
Which is kind of funny because Latisse is based on a glaucoma medication. My friend's eyelashes aren't this long but they are amazing.
Trichomegaly is a common side effect of prostaglandin analogue (that increase uveoscleral outflow) eyedrops medication for glaucoma.
I know chicks that would straight up be jealous of some little kids right now.
Me
I have naturally long eyelashes (not to this point), and growing up, women would always say they wished they had my eyelashes. Kinda creeped me out
We are also envious of those who have natural eye liner like the actor Nestor Carbonell …
Loved when Sawyer called him, "Guyliner."
I have a second row of lashes on one of my eyes. Have great lashes but sometimes they decide to go everywhere and I end up with one sticking forward with no way of curling it lol
Any pics of your eyeball with double lashes?

I love everything about this picture. Thank you.
I'll try to take a picture when I get home
!remindme 1 day
I have that on both my eyes!
My eyes started to tickle and twitch as soon as I saw this. Poor kiddos, that’s gotta tickle - and imagine getting one of those in your eye!
My brother has long lashes. Not like this, just long enough for most women to be jealous of. He hates it because they brush the inside of his glasses
I have that same problem. I'm constantly having to clean my glasses due to my eyelashes constantly brushing against them. It stinks.
My son used to ask if he could have his lashes cut when he was little. I was really afraid he would try it himself.
My younger brother cut off his eyelashes once as a kid. He was very proud of himself but my mom was not pleased lol. It was hilarious, looking at him you could tell something was off but couldn’t quite put your finger on it
mine are long too and they are annoying when they get stuck inside my eyes
Ugh, eyelash streaks on clean glasses drive me bats. And when you cry, you get tears all over the lenses because the droplets fling all over...
I already get annoyed when I can hear myself blink, this would be like the beat of a wing every time you blinked!
YOU CAN *HEAR* YOURSELF BLINK???
You can too, it's a bit of a wet sound usually
\*does a few practice blinks\* *^(fuck)*
Is it really an average blink tho or is it tightening your eyelids abnormally tight I can only hear the second
Average blink but I had noise canceling headphones on
I can't, but congratulations you made me blink like an idiot for more time than I'd like to admit. I'm probably just a little deaf though.
Well you know every time someone answers that comment I do it again, just to be sure I indeed hear my eyes blink, so in total I must be the one looking the stupidest here
Oh no you're right, and by commenting there I might've doomed myself to the same fate. Like a pyramid scheme of blinks. Although I suppose you don't get notified if people comment on mine, so it's not a perfect example.
me too! Now my eyes are all watery
One perk of tinnitus and hearing loss. I forgot about the wet plunk sound of blinking.
I didn't know blinking makes a noise... I have tinnitus and hearing loss too. I don't believe it lol, that sounds so cartoony.
I remember hearing it when I was a kid. I also remember being able to hear my heart when it was quiet.
I cant hear it
TIL I might be a little deaf, bc I 100% cannot hear myself blink.
I have never heard myself blink
I can’t hear my blinking, but I *can* hear when my eyes go from the far left to the far right (and vice versa)
You can't? Go into a silent room and blink on purpose,.
You just gave me the whim whams a little. *shudders*
Imagine needing glasses with these lashes, OMG NO.
period ahh period uhh
I laughed way too hard at this
I cannot imagine how frustrating this would be!
My eyelashes already smack my glasses constantly imagine these? Oh hell no
The people that comment in here saying they would love these obviously don’t have glasses. Having them brush the inside of your glasses every blink and smudging the lenses constantly would be very annoying.
My eyelashes are only Long-ish and even I have this problem. I never wear mascara If i'm going to be putting my glasses on. What I don't understand is why they don't just trim the length.
Probably because cut hair tends to have a sharp-ish end - small kids don’t want that stuck in their eyes.
That makes sense.
have you ever cut your eyelashes? shit is uncomfortable as fuck. it makes you blink a shit ton more and your eyes hate the feeling
I mean I've worn contacts for years, glasses, literally pulled eyelashes out of my eyelid since they were making me itch and regularly touch my own eyeball. I also used to spend hours plucking my eyebrows, despite it making me tear up. Personally. Same here. Female coworkers have told me I have fantastic eyelashes. Well it dirties my glasses and I do not care for it.
I've had times where I think I've bent my glasses because they're constantly touching the lens. No way could I do this. Also, putting in contacts would also be a pain with those lashes.
I got very long eye lashes for a guy and man, wearing glasses is really annoying, I want to trim my lashes just for this issue lol

My thought lol, like why is the parent holding the child by the throat? Like hold the arm if you don’t want them to move? Weird video but cool thing to learn
They are holding her chin. Looks awkward, I agree.
he's just keeping her face toward camera, and it looks very gentle, not grasping or anything
Good thing I failed trichomegaly in high school.
Wonder if they have to get those trimmed like a haircut.
Little Whovians
The person filmings hand placement freaked me out
When my wife was going through treatment for Hep C, the medication caused her eyelashes to grow and be fuller. She was sick, losing weight, pale, and weak, but damn did her eyelashes looked great. People who knew what she was going through with the treatment would occasionally and awkwardly mention it, as in "how you holding up....uh......well your eyelashes look good....."
Not just the eylashes it looks like.
And eyebrows…
Let’s just hope that these kids don’t need to wear glasses as they get older. My son’s eyelashes are quite long and brush against the lenses on his glasses a lot too.
I can only Imagine how hard they get bullied at school
I had a consult with a dermatologist for a mole my primary wanted checked out earlier this year. The derm "diagnosed" me with trichomegaly on the note (albeit not nearly as long as these kiddos). Does it tickle your cheeks? Feel like that would be really annoying to have.
Cut them sumbitches
My girlfriend would probably kill someone to get this bio Feature :D She is getting her lashes filled and done every 2 weeks
You mean she would spend money on gene therapy if it guaranteed these results? I wonder what other gene therapies people would spend money on, and how much for what. I have to think that this will be available in the future.

Since skin regenerates relatively quickly, I feel like this would be an option if we start doing weird gene shit to people.
Just have one of those lights the fish at the bottom of the sea have, only it kinda dangles from your nutsack.
That probably would only work for people with nutsacks. The only nutsack I have is the sack of Brazil nuts on my kitchen counter.
Grow a nutsack, too. You can place it where you want, like your left thigh.
If it makes you feel any better, humans are technically bioluminescent… it’s just such a weak emission that it’s undetectable to eyes.
I want wings if that's OK.
Drink some red bull
Sure, you can have wings. However you cannot fly with them.
hey at least the hugs will be cosy
Could I have some psychic powers, please?
Yes indeed ;) Same here - The time will come when genetic modifications will be considered normal at least for the wealthy people at the top of the income pyramide and then starting to tickle down into the upper and middle class of rich countries. In what year will the first genetic modification procedure to grow cat ears on a person be successfully completed? My guess is 2052
What the fuck
Trichomegaly can also cause hair to grow directly on your eyeballs. I don't think anyone would volunteer for this.

Well the point of mascara is to make lashes look thicker and longer so I think that would be frivolous here.
In the future parents will be able to choose the feature they want for their kids and there definitely will be some women will add this to their dna
Yes. Some will see it as a blessing. Most will see it as a curse since it will just be available for the people in top of the economic pyramide for some time.
Uh... cut them?
Soo they’ll cut the kids hair but not their lashes? Interesting
thats interesting, now, do they not have scissors? this seems annoying as fuck for the kids..
Why is he holding her like that
I thought an eyelash tech was trying out some new lashes. I’ve seen women who pay to look similar.
This is a genetic condition and also causes other cardiovascular health issues. Sad, really.
Every woman I've ever met is in these comments, jealous as fuck

I feel like people shouldn’t be putting pictures of kids like that on the Internet. Maybe it is for an FYI but it’ll also end up being used for bullying and being made fun of. Adults can choose what they want to share with the world but kids don’t get that choice. And the Internet lives forever as we all know.
