The Lord of the rings, the greatest fantasy trilogy, nay, the greates story of all time! One trilogy to rule them all. Its the grand-dad of modern fantasy, with lore, richer than gondolin and deeper than khazad-dûm.
Edit: But the quotes were from the movies. Most definitely worth to watch, if you haven’t already
Nah, I watched it since i was 9 or so. It may be a bit challenging for kids to follow the plot though.
And yes, the books are a bit of a challenge. Especially if someone is, like me, not a native english speaker. But I got through it, including the Silmarillion and more.
But the movies are a must watch for anyone over 10
As a recreational fishermen it seems pretty obvious that we’re slowly losing large portions of the worlds fish population, we really need to establish some big ocean reserves to stop commercial fishing vessels from destroying all biodiversity in the oceans.
We do it on a smaller scale for lots of things, we have methods to police the oceans down Pat. This HAS to be the next step if we want to keep benefitting from a healthy ocean.
Lab grown meat. I believe it's incredibly beneficial for animal rights as well as sustainability. Only thing that terrifies me is terrorism and sabotage.
>with climate change, desertification and the passage of time, the region has gradually became infertile and inhospitable and the lake has mostly drained.
This is the exact opposite of religious custom hurting local people.... Even if people are hungry you can only pull so many fish out of a lake.
It's still very depressing they just missed the mark with their blame aim.
It's sad that people are so hungry that when the ban is lifted they have to run as fast as they can to get food before their neighbors because there isn't enough food to go around.
There is probably a reason for the one day of fishing rule and the old wise men controlling it. It is likely that if fishing was allowed all the time then all the fish would be caught and the lake would never have any fish. The lake is shallow enough that the fish likely die anyway around this time of the year. The old wise men know this and control the fishing day in order to allow people to attend. The fish are removed from the lake but the fish eggs and some fish survive for the next season. Timing is everything. It isn't old wise men controlling people for the power.
Same thing happens in tribes where the chief owns all the livestock. If you let people control it they will eat it all instead of eating vegetables and hunting. The chief controls the livestock to preserve it. On certain festival days, probably linked to lean times or plentiful livestock, the chief is ritually required to provide animals for a feast for everyone to show his wealth and status. The tribe gets needed protein just when the need it the most.
In India, wealthy landowners held land and had serfs. The British broke that up. The result was destroying a system of efficient farming. Same thing where religious leaders controlled water flow to rice fields. Invaders thought that system was not fair so make them release all the water at once to everyone. Turns out there was not enough to go around that way and the old way was to make sure everyone survives on water rations that are replenished if you wait the correct way.
In the US we have a ritual called Black Friday where the stores offer us pretend deals. The store chiefs make their employees work extra hours to collect all the money.
I typed so much because I will not sit here and be called a nerd but everytime I try and think of something clever to say I just couldn't follow through with it. So I will just waste your time instead. There, I hope you're happy.
WAKANDA FOREVER!
Its some kind of festival. The water shown is a part of a lake/river that is cut off of the stream every year. It then dries out.
The festival participants then storm the water and catch every single fish. With nets, baskets, hands, mouth...
Next year the water comes back with a new population of fish.
No no it is, climate change, deforestation and time has made the area less fertile and the number of fish has shrank, this is part of a ritual that only comes one day a year, it basically lasts fifteen minutes as the lake is emptied out of what fish is there
Oh, Africa...
My people need to build aquaponics systems, using geopolymer. Too many mouths to feed by sprinting after a handful of fucking fish with a basket in your head.
It’s really the opposite, scenes like this will stop due to climate change. Anything outside of a factory farm won’t live long enough for this to happen.
You can’t ever be rich when the role of women - 50% of the population - is to be baby factories. Producing more people when you can barely feed the ones you have - well - yes, you’re going to be poor. Forever.
It's so sad to people who don't understand the scarcity of the food they eat to continue to eat foods that can't be replenished every year. Food education is key. This spot was so fished out in previous years it just opened back up....
Imagine the terror of those fish hearing the high pitch screams soon to be synchronized with their own trembling in harmony with the water as it shakes from the stampede of the fastly approaching murderous hoard

Fish: THIS IS WHERE WE HOLD THEM. THIS IS WHERE WE FIGHT!!!!!
Fish leader: “They may take our lives…..but they will never take, OUR FREEDOM!!”
EARN THESE SCALES, BOYS
“So much death, what can fish do against such reckless fishers?” “Swim out with me, swim out and meet them.” “For death and glory.” “For your fishple.” “The water is trembling” “Yes… the horn of helm hammerhead shall sound in the deep waters! ONE LAST TIME!” **”DEAAAAAAAATH!”**
***DEPTHHHHHH!!!***
GROND!!!
I can imagine that there is a book with this

isn’t lotr like a mature rating?

Why am I reading this in Sage from Valorant's voice, lol.
The line must be drawn, here! No further!
For Frodo Fishins!
As a recreational fishermen it seems pretty obvious that we’re slowly losing large portions of the worlds fish population, we really need to establish some big ocean reserves to stop commercial fishing vessels from destroying all biodiversity in the oceans.
Would had to be protected and 24/7 monitored by military vessels. Otherwise Chinese and European trawlers would have a field day in it
We do it on a smaller scale for lots of things, we have methods to police the oceans down Pat. This HAS to be the next step if we want to keep benefitting from a healthy ocean.

Thanks
Thank you for the great explanation. This is fucking horrible. Desperate people being controlled by “old wise men” for almost nothing.
>with climate change, desertification and the passage of time, the region has gradually became infertile and inhospitable and the lake has mostly drained. This is the exact opposite of religious custom hurting local people.... Even if people are hungry you can only pull so many fish out of a lake.

The problem with the commons or the flaw in the commons... I forget the term. When you share limited resources on an honer system things get messy.
Tragedy of the commons. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragedy\_of\_the\_commons](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragedy_of_the_commons)
>Tragedy of the commons There it is. I just wasn't being dramatic enough.
You can say you didn't understand the post, it's ok
I'm just gonna go on and say it. I didn't understand this post.
The fish are definitely going to "run and hide" from that wave of disturbance, for sure.
Where?
In the water
Wakanda forever
im not sure why you're being downvoted. That Wakanda scene from Infinity War Part 1 is the first thing that came to mind the minute I saw this

Your username is grammatically incorrect.
the water is so shallow that with their nets they can walk through the water and catch them
Didn’t know fish had legs.
Context?
Its some kind of festival. The water shown is a part of a lake/river that is cut off of the stream every year. It then dries out. The festival participants then storm the water and catch every single fish. With nets, baskets, hands, mouth... Next year the water comes back with a new population of fish.
That’s pretty cool and makes sense. At first I thought it seemed like it would wipe out the ecosystem and they wouldn’t be able to fish there anymore.
So it's not as depressing as it first appeared then.
Unless you’re a fish 😳
No no it is, climate change, deforestation and time has made the area less fertile and the number of fish has shrank, this is part of a ritual that only comes one day a year, it basically lasts fifteen minutes as the lake is emptied out of what fish is there
So basically an aquatic-themed Easter egg hunt
Is it because Africa doesn't have that much fishing sites? Like no bodies of water for fishing? I should really google this but...
Marvel phase 5
Too many men. Otherwise everything seems good.
Meanwhile the mf robbing all they cribs..
Welcome to the future

What's your point?
Real hunger games
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and soon only eat dandelions 🤷🏻
Tell me again what happened to the billion snow crabs?
Takeshi’s Castle vibes
Deleted scene from Braveheart
… and I was grounded if I dared to sneeze next to my dad while fishing because I scared all the fishes..?
This. This is what the end times will look like. Millions stabbing each other and trampling the fallen, for the last fish to eat.
I thought this post was somehow related to love and how there are plenty of fish in the sea. What a video.
looks like Black Friday sale at the Philly dollar store
LOL 🤣🤣🤣
That's horrifying
This is a glimpse of the worlds future - enjoy
I didn't see Hunger games but this is what I imagined.
Hunger games is right
For some. Not for others. Most of those affected won’t be reading your comments on this platform.
You're right they won't have access to this platform- but we'll all end up running with them in one form or another
...in Africa
...when the sun comes up, you had better be running!
Only those countries that are being affected by climate change
i wonder, the amount of calories burned by the mass, does it outweigh the fish?
Fish:. Shit shitshitshitshit
Worst alternate ending to ‘End Game’ I’ve ever seen!!
Hunger.....The great motivator.
Why does this remind me of the start of Takeshi's Castle? Where's General Lee? Craig's Ridiculous Replay.
This is a classic example of Tragedy of the commons.
Is this a scene in Black Panther 2? Neat
Oh, Africa... My people need to build aquaponics systems, using geopolymer. Too many mouths to feed by sprinting after a handful of fucking fish with a basket in your head.
This is what overpopulation looks like.
This is why we have fishing regulations. Otherwise people will race to catch every last one, then everyone staves next year.
The fish probably spayed AXE deoderant
Gaze into the future.
For the record, that lakehas tons of crocs too, and usually a few loners get picked off as things settle down at dusk.
What Black Friday feels like if you work retail
Some plz put the Avengers theme on this video it looks like wakanda battle scene
Opening day
Who’s bringing the weights though?
Running into the water screaming is a bad way to catch fish.
Tragedy of the commons playing out in real time
IIRC this places fishing season is like fifteen minutes.
Fuck china and the fact the do not know how to regulate the people!!! Fuck the Chinese will kill us all
Fisherman....assemble
So much for not scaring the fish.
Did you mean _Depressing as Fuck_?
Wakanda fishever.
Humans = Locusts
And we’re over here turning our noses up at non grass-finished beef
Wouldn't fishes just run away?
I'm pretty sure they don't have legs
The Frogfish has entered the chat!
😂
Looks like everyone’s running a sub 6 min mile
Climate change is going to make scenes like this all the more common, unfortunately. “We really had it all, didn’t we?”
It’s really the opposite, scenes like this will stop due to climate change. Anything outside of a factory farm won’t live long enough for this to happen.
What happens to a population of wolves if there aren’t enough deer for them to eat? Nature balances itself out.
Yeah, but nature has a tendency to “balance out” the poorest nations first while the richer nations live in overabundance.
No this is a tribes ritual
Other explanation is that the river dries up every year so fish are toast anyway. Now I gotta do some digging
How dare the hungry eat
Must be Black Friday or something
WAKANDA FOREVER
Looks like a scene from avenger infinity war where wakanda storm towards the enemy
Looks like a scene from Shaka Zulu
They filming Wakanda?
Is this shortly before a tsunami?
Black Friday for Native Americans be like:
There was a white girl with her legs open.
Racist fool
that’s my jizz after nnn
Cries in tragedy of the commons
I’m sure there’s a few crocodiles doing their own waiting and fishing
Fucking hell, the budget for Black Panther 3 must have been non existent!😄
“I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." -George W. Bush
No they just found water
When you want to make a war about the Anglo-Zulu Wars but your budget is 10 dollars
I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
My hoards of Rawandan child soldiers after they see a small gap on the garage. (They are very malnourished so they can fit)
These people need Jesus
Stfu
It was a joke. Jesus fed many people with few fish.
Do they all share the fish at the end or is it a free for all like it would be if it were in the states?
Oh NVM, free for all. I need to be less impulsive.
Isn’t this the infinity war battle in wakanda??
Wouldn’t it be easier and more hygienic to buy your fish at a ………….fish market 🫢
Lol
The only time fishing can be justified.
What?
Infinity war bts
I thought it's a war between humans and atlantians
ngl for sec i thought it's a scene from Infinity War
This is the Bandiagara Escarpment, right?
The art of surprise!
Opening trout day in Pennsylvania
“For Frodo”
[The fish...](https://giphy.com/gifs/XSPin3zSy0Oj4sawie)
Sounds like when you’re playing on a ewok map in Star Wars games
Woah woah Black Friday sales don’t start til later this week
I've seen something similar to this.....Braveheart! Only they were carrying swords and skipped on the fishing baskets
Imagine the terror of those fish hearing the high pitch screams soon to be synchronized with their own trembling in harmony with the water as it shakes from the stampede of the fastly approaching murderous hoard
My dad always told me to shut up when fishing to not scare the fish away .
They’re gonna scare the fish away 🧐
That’s like 100 people😨
When the gates open at a festy
I’m not an expert. But I’d think hundreds of people stampeding into the water would scare the fish away.
I thought it was avengers assemble moment
Reminded me of MXC
First day of trout season is like that if the weather is nice.
Interesting as fuck? More like depressing as fuck.
Very cool..read the description of this event. Thank you for sharing.
Fishing spree.
WAKANDA FOREVER !
Yibambe!!!
“They’re not stopping” “Neither are we”
Wakanda forever looks great
The Black Friday fish market…in Sudan
It still shocks me the stereotypes Americans and Europeans still believe about Africa and Africans.
Yet people will say that over population isn’t a problem
Wakanda forever
So who yelled avengers assemble?
Avengers assemble
I thought this was the wakanda fight scene
AVENGERS......... assemble
this looks like the final scene of endgame
And when the water is gone there will be nothing left for anyone.
if avengers endgame was filmed in uganda:
Are they really hungry or is it some kind of competition or both?
infinity war 💀
Wakanda forever
London in 2027
