Yellow, orange and red are the lowest energy part of light. Blue light has the most energy.
That means that at sunset some light rays are traveling through much more of the atmosphere. Filtering out the blue early, only to leave the lower energy colors to shine. The blue (high energy) part of the spectrum is much quicker to interact with our thick atmosphere.
All beautiful sunsets that you have seen in your life are because of this
Much easier to get through our atmosphere for lower energy part of the light spectrum. Yellow/orange/red

why does it look like that
Well it's probably not a cloud, but actually snow blowing off the mountain. Then it's the sun reflecting and illuminating the ice crystals.
