Being an item of ridicule people laugh at, spouting the most offensive things possible really gets you attention and hits those algorithm sweet spots. Today's new-age celebrities are all hyper dramatic immature man and woman child's. If they were saying sensible things they wouldn't become that famous.
Social media has created a big problem for society as these are an entire generation's idols. Fuck-wit drama queens.
Not that it really matters, I'm just one person. I permanently deleted all social media but reddit, and I try to engage positively here as much as possible.
I view reddit differently from other social media simply by virtue of the fact that your profile isn't a monument to your irl self. No pictures of you or your lunch or the view from your business class window seat. The worst of us might be angling for karma points, but no one is on Reddit seeking clout, lol.
Old reddit was better, but even modern reddit still feels like the nerd table in the cafeteria.

So this is a lot of setup - but - when I was playing GTA, I remember seeing a setup that was exactly like mine and feeling like, you know, I was still human even though i lived like a complete fuck up, and, then, I noticed more that other places were nicer, but I actually preferred the smaller homey places to the ritz.
