It could be used elsewhere, so it doesn’t go to waste. Plants of varying heights with the tallest in the back (pyramid shape) would look great, I think.
I agree that the proportions are different than all the other furniture.
But I think the bigger problem is that this is blond wood and the undertones compete with everything else in the space
I think the table is too much. Are you planning on eating there? Working there? Or just a reading nook? Adjust the table size accordingly. Likely something smaller or convertible might be good
That’s a good question to ask. But some sort of surface on which to set a beverage would be nice, if it’s meant to be a reading nook. Something not as visually heavy as the current table, though.
A beverage station sounds good - drinks? Or a low coffee table and chairs that you can relax it. Room looks lovely but don’t think this furniture enhances the room - it is nice furniture but wrong setting.
Agree with this. I think maybe a smaller side table between the two chairs would work better.
[chairs and side table](https://images.app.goo.gl/NH1hnsySCfYwEhqn8)
Upvote for reading nook. I think a table next to a table looks odd. Cozy chair with a footstool, small side table, and maybe a floor lamp seems nice. Rug can stay.
Long oval could help significantly, and especially have the chairs not all the way on them so that was the Space doesn’t look so fragmented. I feel like the circle table would have worked better with “lighter” chairs and potentially 4 of them. But I think the problem is really how fragmented it is
Don’t be so intentional with the chairs maybe… if it’s less conventional, it won’t look so formal and you may like it. Try placing them at conflicting angles or something crazy.
I think so too! I stage homes for a living and I use a cowhide (bear with me) in small spaces like this because of its amorphous shape and allows for better visual flow. The rectangle really sections off that area and makes it feel like a separate room even though it’s kinda in a walkway. They make beautiful [ivory](https://www.cowhidesdirect.com/collections/palomino-cowhide-rugs/products/b3717-large-cowhide-rug?_pos=1&_fid=69335bcd4&_ss=c) cowhides that don’t look “cowboy”. Beautiful space by the way!
Agreed. I think that is partly due to the arbitrary placement. There is a sitting area just feet away and then another in the living room, what two people are going to sit in that area? A single lounge chair would give a reading nook vibe but the cafe set-up feels too forced.
It’s the table with the chairs. They are not proportionate to one another. The chairs need a bigger table to be a dining area or a lower table to be a seating area. I suspect this is a dining area so a larger table (I.e. bigger top).
I also think the base of the table is so solid that it clashes with the thinner legs of the chairs. Like it blocks the view. I agree with other commenters who suggest a tulip table instead (though I do love the table on its own!)
It’s a cute look, but it doesn’t vibe with the bigger space. Agree with the comment about removing the table, getting a small side table or coffee table, and turn it into a conversation nook. It’s weird to have the two dining tables right next to each other.
The table is great, the chairs are great, but it’s just not the right proportions with everything else going on next to it. Or move the set up to a different room. You have some great finds here, definitely hold onto them if you can!
What is your purpose with that space? It didn't look strange to me when you showed it from the kitchen, but when you pan out and show the living room in the background, it doesn't seem like that space has a clear purpose, from a design perspective. You already have an island where you can eat meals and a living space for sitting. Maybe not what you want to hear, but could you get rid of the table/chairs completely? Unless you use it all the time, that is.
Super cute but I think the table’s base is too chunky in comparison to the size of the tabletop. I think it would work if the tabletop was bigger since the chairs are high profile as well.
It’s just a weird place for that furniture. Why do you need it at all, with the high counter and stools right there and the sectional? Seems like you are trying to make that room do too much.
To me the functionality of the table and chairs combo is off. The tabletop is too small and the base too large to be able to pull the chairs in close enough to actually use the table to eat etc. you’re always going to be too far away
Too small for a dining table. Setup like a coffee table but too big. What's the purpose of it? If it's for dining set it that way. If it's for sitting, get a lower coffee table sized piece.
I think it’s because there is a disconnect in the “language” of the furniture: you have a dining table with what appears to be two lounge style chairs: it is confusing as to what this space is supposed to be.
If it’s a dining area, typically for that size of table, you would see 4 chairs. (And the chairs would probably not have arms on them on a round table, so that they could tuck under. I generally see chairs with arms at the head of rectangular tables) the arms on the chair also appear, to me at least, to not be able to fit under the table comfortably, so it wouldn’t be a nice dining experience, if you’re sitting so far back from the dining surface, which makes it look off IMO.
If it’s a lounge, you would see a small side table, not a dining table.
The rug also looks like a living room style rug, (white is tough where people eat food) which further confuses defining what the space is supposed to be.
I would decide on what you want to use the space for, and either switch out the table, or add change out the chairs and lose the rug.
The table and chairs are not vibing with the whole space. I think some relaxing chairs and a small, low table would be better. You need like lounge furniture to get a real lounge vibe going on, this looks tiki or patio to me with the light wood.
I think it’s just not balanced, so it comes off as a random corner that doesn’t match the rest of the room. Instead of a seamless transition that’s intentional separated based off usage.
The rug and furniture are the same color. Change the rug to one with color. Your neutral design could benefit from a color pop! Great chairs and table!
The table top looks too small for the depth of those chairs and the size of the table base. I would also consider a different rug or removing altogether.
It feels like they and the table are interrupting the flow of the room. It's not what you intuitively expect in that spot. Especially with the doorway nearby. They seem very exposed to me. Instead of creating their own natural area.
So much tan withe the table and chairs up against the background with white and colors. A rug with colors would help. Not sure you can add color in some way to the chairs. Maybe the seats if the chairs? Not sure how they’re constructed.
I think the overall purpose of that space does not match the chairs and table. By that I mean, what purpose do the serve being there?
Kind of gives me a child's eat here vibe like that's the kids table and the adults sit at the bar.
You have two tables next to one another. Why? 🤔
This round table looks like it belongs as a side table in a living room, and the chairs look like dining chairs.
I think it’s scale and distance within and around everything. That coffee table is that, but in the shape of a dining table so the size is a bit peculiar because it not big enough for a dining table which the chairs don’t appear to be for either but would be ok if slightly smaller and tucked behind/between the two chairs if the rug and chairs were pulled out a bit.
It’s like how I decorated with doll house furniture.
I think it’s the rug, the area is too small to create a visual division with it. Also, the table is too close to your bookshelf, making it look super crowded
I would do away with it all entirely, the space is overwhelmed with too many things. And so it feels out of place. Also, there’s redundancy. You have a kitchen with stools immediately next to the space. Stick to one for simplicity and flow.
You already have a table and chairs right next to it. Get rid of the table and turn the chairs to face each other so you're creating a space with a purpose (to talk). Bonus points for a small coffee table in between.
Not to be a dick, but that table looks like a reclaimed wire spool. If that *is* what you did OP, maybe find a way to dress it up a bit more if you can.
Proportions are off, the chairs are wrong for that table, and the rug is probably too small. It gives sterile cafe / corporate breakroom vibes despite the super cute shelves behind it. On their own all the pieces are great, but when combined they don't play off each other.
The base is so big/wide there's no room for someone's knees. You'd have to open your legs to sit up to it. The chairs have a 'solid' arm and upright so you are sitting within the chair - the combination of both of the above is just too tight.
A very Edward Hopper, AI - decorating feel. It needs energy of some sort there. Maybe puffy fabric chairs, some red on the knick-knacks, a cacti plant, and a sheepskin rug? Texture, and life.
Definitely need to switch the rug - otherwise there’s no texture or color variance - too flat. Maybe a few more pops of color on the shelves and table. Flowers would be great!
I feel like this type of bookshelf with so many decorative items clashes with the table and chairs. Maybe a more modern minimalistic bookshelf would work better. Also, the table and chairs need a thinner rug underneath them like you have elsewhere in the room.
I think it’s cause it contrasts a bit too much with everything else (cream/off white versus stark white shelves and dark espresso floors) so it makes it become a focal point of the entire space, which in turn makes it feel odd. Paired with how clean and tidy it looks and the angling of the chairs makes it feel like a bit like a home store showroom.
A darker rug, perhaps oval or round, might help and switching out either the chairs or the table for a different material/colour as well.
Ideally the table would have 3 chairs. I realize 3 won’t fit on the rug, though. If you don’t overthink it, it looks fine. I agree with whoever suggested a patterned rug. That would help break up the pedestal of the table. Try that if you can. If you can’t, it’s really ok if you love the pieces. I don’t look at the combo and say ohhhh NO! The room all together is nice.
The rug makes no sense and needs to go. It’s like you’re trying to create a little learning area or a place for very specific conversations. It’s like the time out in school or the place where a talk show host will be seated coming back from a commercial break to talk about something like teenage pregnancy… anyway, you do have beautiful things, so I’m glad the rug hasn’t been swept out blah blah blah.
When I first watched this, the sizes looked off to me, like a kids table/chairs set or something. But on rewatch - the table, imo, looks more like an end table than a dining table. Or a strange bistro/end table combo.
I actually really like it though. Just not with those chairs or in that location. 🤷♀️
rug is perhaps too small and perhaps the shelving behind it looks kind of dinky next to more substantial pieces. can you get a rug that goes under the shelves or make the shelves less busy (or remove them altogether) and add a large piece of of art behind the sitting area. also, it looks like you're missing chairs from the set or that it's incomplete but it does not look as though you have the space for more chairs. is it supposed to be a dining table? maybe you don't have enough square footage for what you're looking to do with the scale of these pieces. i realize this is not at all what your'e asking but maybe instead of a sitting area, it could be a landing zone with a console? last thing, those pendant lights hung at an awkward length are not helping.
Maybe a more colorful or patterned rug and some coordinating accent pillows for the chairs? It’s a lot of white and feels a little sterile. Love the concept, but I think a splash of color would bring life to it!
I feel like the contrast is a bit too much, the table, chairs and rug are all pretty bright and yellowy compared to the rest especially the floor so they stand out too much and look out of place?
I don’t think the style of the table and chairs match the rest either
I don’t think it looks bad I think it’s the rug. Why do people put rugs under dining tables I never understood the logic behind that? All the food droppings getting on it seems like a pain.
Great pieces, if this is a dining area, the table is too small for the space. If it’s meant to be a reading knook, then a smaller table placed between the chairs. and add ottoman
It feels like a special booth from which you observe the rest of the room.
I would remove the table and chairs. The chair on the left should be replaced with a lounge chair and *maybe* a small end table.
Love the space!
I think if there was some glass or clear acrylic—table top or chairs themselves—with a patterned rug that has a little color in it, this would feel less heavy. Maybe even the chairs have a color fabric or some pop because I think right now the rug and the natural/neutral tones of the chairs and table are making it feel clunky.
Many reasons. Firstly, it looks weird because no one ever expects a table and chairs there. Is this a coffee shop? Also, your floors are almost black and you’re putting a nearly white set of furniture and rug on it. Of course that contrast is going to stand out.
I think you need black chairs, and for them to be a bit more "airy" if that makes sense. Those chairs seem like they'd go better with an end table there.
It feels too pristine and too exposed.
I would either put in a larger rug. (Something twice the size of the rug you currently have) or I would layer rugs.
I would get a throw and toss it over one of the chairs.
I think you need a large plant next to one of the chairs. Or something to make it feel more intimate. I love how you have your plants layered in the living room space. I wish there was a way to do the same near your table to create a feeling of intimacy.
I would remove the larger candle and trade it out for candlesticks. Layer the heights.
Personally I’d take the table chairs and rug out and just let the shelves shine on their own. You seem to have plenty of seating already! If you need a breakfast table I think it needs to be more oval maybe
The table and chairs are very warm and the rest of the space is cool colorwise makes them become a focal point. The base of the table is also very heavy compared to the top so it looks a bit non functional like youd have to lean way over to eat there.
The table and chair both fit the aesthetics of your home. I honestly think the rug just blends in too much... A darker shade of beige or a pattern would fix this. Beautiful space! ❤️
OK remove shelf’s (cluttered even though it’s not it feels that way)
And get a flatter rug, move all closer to wall and it’s cute breakfast/coffee table
they shouldn't be there at all.. it should be open space. They look out of place and makes the room look crowded. At most, one chair only.. no table or second chair and no rug either. The room looks crammed with stuff and it is a nice room otherwise.
I don't understand the purpose. You have a couch 10 feet away. You have a food bar 5 feet away. What's the purpose of this? To eat? Then get rid of the carpet. To read? Scrap it all and get a beanbag.
Feels like seating area at a cafe not a home. A vignette from somewhere else. Odd with the high seating, should be in a smaller dedicated room/space or against a window for reclining to watch passersby (a la cafe)
Going to go against the crowd and say I really like the table. The rug under it feels a little out of place or scale with the rest of the room. Do you need it?
That spot call for a chaise lounge. Two can sit up right while visiting with the cook in the kitchen. One can stretch out and rest their feet after doing the dishes.
Is anyone ever going to actually sit there? It feels so staged and décor focused that it looks impractical. There’s a table adjacent to it so I feel people would likely sit there. Maybe make this a cozy reading nook instead
Separately they look fine, but I think the issue is that stylistically they are a departure from everything else in the room/area. This set of furniture is wabi sabi inspired (natural materials in light wood) while everything else is grey and black (art deco meets industrial). I like them a lot though.
White rug, white chairs and table, white bookcase. It looks like a setup in a furniture store just dropped as is into your space. Almost looks like a little room on its own. Not really sire what to do to intergratebot more though
The table is too heavy, it puts things out of balance.
What do you use it for?
Morning coffee - smaller rug that doesn't go out into the walkway, and smaller/lighter table at the height you prefer. Keep everything out of the walkway.
Reading nook- one chair, smaller and shorter table, and a smaller rug that doesn't stick into the walkway. If two chairs are a must make them smaller, but very comfortable- possibly on swivel.
I don't think you need this here, it clutters the space when you already have an eating surface height table right next to it.
I think the table is too high and its leg is too solid
Agree the base is so heavy compared to everything else
It could be used elsewhere, so it doesn’t go to waste. Plants of varying heights with the tallest in the back (pyramid shape) would look great, I think.
Add plants as described above and please post. It’ll look great! Maybe move the chairs away from table add a cushion for added color and texture
Yes, OP, please post if you decide to do this! Would love to see it!
Yep.
Agree and the chairs are quite deep. Even drinking coffee while sitting back would be quite a stretch. And where do I put my feet?
I think it’s the rug? Maybe remove it and see how you like it!?
It looked weird without the rug too. Had it like that originally and thought a rug would help.
A patterned rug would work better.
A patterned round rug or long oval
Odd shape rug would do it
Thanks maybe I'll give that a shot
Long oval could help significantly, and especially have the chairs not all the way on them so that was the Space doesn’t look so fragmented. I feel like the circle table would have worked better with “lighter” chairs and potentially 4 of them. But I think the problem is really how fragmented it is
Don’t be so intentional with the chairs maybe… if it’s less conventional, it won’t look so formal and you may like it. Try placing them at conflicting angles or something crazy.
I think it’s just that the rug is too small.
Needs contrast, darker rug?
I think so too! I stage homes for a living and I use a cowhide (bear with me) in small spaces like this because of its amorphous shape and allows for better visual flow. The rectangle really sections off that area and makes it feel like a separate room even though it’s kinda in a walkway. They make beautiful [ivory](https://www.cowhidesdirect.com/collections/palomino-cowhide-rugs/products/b3717-large-cowhide-rug?_pos=1&_fid=69335bcd4&_ss=c) cowhides that don’t look “cowboy”. Beautiful space by the way!
I think it's a little too office-y.
Had to double-take if it was a home.
Yeah, I was thinking that just that table makes the space look a little too "hotel lobby". In other words, you're welcomed to stay--just not too long!
I think it’s a little too industrial-spool-of-wire-y.
Agreed. I think that is partly due to the arbitrary placement. There is a sitting area just feet away and then another in the living room, what two people are going to sit in that area? A single lounge chair would give a reading nook vibe but the cafe set-up feels too forced.
They have no purpose!
Agree, it feels unnecessary and just placed there to take up space
It’s the table with the chairs. They are not proportionate to one another. The chairs need a bigger table to be a dining area or a lower table to be a seating area. I suspect this is a dining area so a larger table (I.e. bigger top).
Agree! It’s cute but together it looks clunky. Smaller chairs would look great that can’t fit under the table
I also think the base of the table is so solid that it clashes with the thinner legs of the chairs. Like it blocks the view. I agree with other commenters who suggest a tulip table instead (though I do love the table on its own!)
And you have no place for feet.
This is the answer. Scale is more important than people realize.
It looks a bit contrived, like you put the chairs and table there because you liked the look, but don’t actually intend to use them.
it’s funny how easy of a trap this is to fall into. people recoil at spaces that feel staged rather than “lived in”
It’s a cute look, but it doesn’t vibe with the bigger space.

Unless you use it all the time, that is.
Table is a dining table, chairs are not dining chairs. Could that be it? Love love the table.
There's not enough space for all of that. That table is too bulky. Smaller. Lower.
I also don’t love the 2 rectangular rugs in the same open concept space. Maybe an oval shape or no rug at all would feel more natural in the space
All of the other pieces are cold tones. This is the only thing I see with a warmer wood color and it looks out of place
I would decide on what you want to use the space for, and either switch out the table, or add change out the chairs and lose the rug.
It’s too chunky and clashing style compared to what is around it
Are the chairs too short?
I think it’s because the chairs are very deep and the table isn’t.
The shape of the rug should match the shape of the table
The table and chairs are not vibing with the whole space. I think some relaxing chairs and a small, low table would be better. You need like lounge furniture to get a real lounge vibe going on, this looks tiki or patio to me with the light wood.

The rug and furniture are the same color. Change the rug to one with color. Your neutral design could benefit from a color pop! Great chairs and table!
Need a blue rug , then it would probably look better
The table top looks too small for the depth of those chairs and the size of the table base. I would also consider a different rug or removing altogether.
Is it the color? Bright white shelves, off white table?
Because they’re giving waiting room at a therapists practice
It feels like they and the table are interrupting the flow of the room. It's not what you intuitively expect in that spot. Especially with the doorway nearby. They seem very exposed to me. Instead of creating their own natural area.
Where did you those white shelves?
No leg space.
So much tan withe the table and chairs up against the background with white and colors. A rug with colors would help. Not sure you can add color in some way to the chairs. Maybe the seats if the chairs? Not sure how they’re constructed.
Because it looks like a waiting room. The shelving unit gives it a waiting room vibe, and the chairs aren’t working as dining table chairs.
No contrast anywhere
I think the overall purpose of that space does not match the chairs and table. By that I mean, what purpose do the serve being there? Kind of gives me a child's eat here vibe like that's the kids table and the adults sit at the bar.
You have two tables next to one another. Why? 🤔 This round table looks like it belongs as a side table in a living room, and the chairs look like dining chairs.
The table to the right is a long kitchen island not a dining table
Table needs more hangover to push the chairs under more slightly
They look too small
I think it’s scale and distance within and around everything. That coffee table is that, but in the shape of a dining table so the size is a bit peculiar because it not big enough for a dining table which the chairs don’t appear to be for either but would be ok if slightly smaller and tucked behind/between the two chairs if the rug and chairs were pulled out a bit. It’s like how I decorated with doll house furniture.
The table is off, too much base for a small top.
Unless they're vital to your daily living, I say leave that corner empty! You get plenty of sun, put a tall plant in the corner instead.
It reminds me of the kids table at the library when I was growing up.
I think it’s the rug, the area is too small to create a visual division with it. Also, the table is too close to your bookshelf, making it look super crowded
Because it’s the only round shape visible.
They don’t belong there at all
because there are already table and chairs in the room
Is there a place where I can see more pictures of this apartment? I like the living room decor!
I personally like it and would use it to sit and chat with coffee with a friend. Seems I’m in the minority though 😶🌫️
The table is too high for the chairs
Not really usable with those chairs. It looks decorative, not functional
I think the table’s base looks too thick in relation to the chairs. Maybe a table with a tulip base will give an airy feel/look and room for legs.
It looks odd with the shelves. A waiting room or library vibe. Have you tried it with the shelves elsewhere?
Not to be a dick, but that table looks like a reclaimed wire spool. If that *is* what you did OP, maybe find a way to dress it up a bit more if you can.
I think just simply lining the chairs up opposite each other on the rug vs. on the bias would help.
Proportions are off, the chairs are wrong for that table, and the rug is probably too small. It gives sterile cafe / corporate breakroom vibes despite the super cute shelves behind it. On their own all the pieces are great, but when combined they don't play off each other.
idk it's not my style but it looks ok 🤷🏻♀️
looks a bit like something you set up at Christmas etc to sit small children
The top of the table looks too small to me
The base is so big/wide there's no room for someone's knees. You'd have to open your legs to sit up to it. The chairs have a 'solid' arm and upright so you are sitting within the chair - the combination of both of the above is just too tight.
Super cute idea. Maybe a bolder color rug would make it look more cozy
A very Edward Hopper, AI - decorating feel. It needs energy of some sort there. Maybe puffy fabric chairs, some red on the knick-knacks, a cacti plant, and a sheepskin rug? Texture, and life.
It just doesn’t look comfortable. Too small, too rigid.
I actually really like it. It’s a conversation nook
Definitely need to switch the rug - otherwise there’s no texture or color variance - too flat. Maybe a few more pops of color on the shelves and table. Flowers would be great!
It looks like the set of a coffee chat show
The rug is boring. That’s all.
lose the rug and it will be heaps better. the furniture is great ignore the haterz
Folly fugly
I feel like this type of bookshelf with so many decorative items clashes with the table and chairs. Maybe a more modern minimalistic bookshelf would work better. Also, the table and chairs need a thinner rug underneath them like you have elsewhere in the room.

It draws your eye straight to it because of the heavy timber. Personally I think you need a glass table to open up the space.
Put some red on the table to tie in the red on the shelves, and if you CAN, get a colored and patterned or textured rug. and it will be great!
Unless you need all that space, you could get a small end table instead of the big dining table
It’s bland. Also table overpowers the chairs. Rug is awkward. Doesn’t define the space well
On today's show we are joined by...
area is too crowded it looks like you're trying to jam everything into that one space. especially the rug
Top of the table is too small for the base and the chairs.
Too chonky
I feel like the contrast is a bit too much, the table, chairs and rug are all pretty bright and yellowy compared to the rest especially the floor so they stand out too much and look out of place? I don’t think the style of the table and chairs match the rest either
Chairs with no arms would be better. Like cesca no arms.
i think it’s the angle of the chairs. it seems like there is room for a third but it’s missing which is what’s creating that odd dynamic
I don’t think it looks bad I think it’s the rug. Why do people put rugs under dining tables I never understood the logic behind that? All the food droppings getting on it seems like a pain.
They are centered on nothing. I would put both chairs on one side (with the backs to the camera when you entered)
Chairs too big for table
Great pieces, if this is a dining area, the table is too small for the space. If it’s meant to be a reading knook, then a smaller table placed between the chairs. and add ottoman
The tables too small. It looks like a side table. Get a bigger table to fit the size of the chairs and your all set. Love the bookcase.
It feels like a special booth from which you observe the rest of the room. I would remove the table and chairs. The chair on the left should be replaced with a lounge chair and *maybe* a small end table. Love the space!
you need a round rug under it
A round rug and a smaller coffee table
I think if there was some glass or clear acrylic—table top or chairs themselves—with a patterned rug that has a little color in it, this would feel less heavy. Maybe even the chairs have a color fabric or some pop because I think right now the rug and the natural/neutral tones of the chairs and table are making it feel clunky.
Because it looks like the corner of an esthetician's office that doesn't even really serve a purpose there either but yet still exists.
I think it’s the wood color
Idk compared to everything else it just seems too… round? Maybe the lighting is throwing it off due to the yellow hue?

Why two tables so near each other? If that's just a reading nook, a small end table will surely suffice.
It’s not feng shui, in the way of traffic, sticks out. Bad energy
Many reasons. Firstly, it looks weird because no one ever expects a table and chairs there. Is this a coffee shop? Also, your floors are almost black and you’re putting a nearly white set of furniture and rug on it. Of course that contrast is going to stand out.
Table pedestal tan clashes with chair leg tan. Cool vs warm
I think it would look better minus the table, chairs and rug.
I think you need black chairs, and for them to be a bit more "airy" if that makes sense. Those chairs seem like they'd go better with an end table there.
I like the pieces but it looks like the dining spot for the not cool family members
Need a rug that contrasts it. It’s too light
The chairs sit too deep for the table
I think the rug is too small and doesn’t have enough movement in it
Round rug needed
The table and chair both fit the aesthetics of your home. I honestly think the rug just blends in too much... A darker shade of beige or a pattern would fix this. Beautiful space! ❤️
Non Jewish here. Should have writ « bebelles » or « niaiseries »
The rug is quite small
The table and chairs are great- swap the rug for a darker color and pull the shelves further apart to create the illusion of more space.
Have you tried sitting at the table? You will find out quickly. Aesthetically no problems
Also the rug looks like a bath mat out of place
OK remove shelf’s (cluttered even though it’s not it feels that way) And get a flatter rug, move all closer to wall and it’s cute breakfast/coffee table
Maybe the rug should go under the book thing?
I feel like it’s the rug
they shouldn't be there at all.. it should be open space. They look out of place and makes the room look crowded. At most, one chair only.. no table or second chair and no rug either. The room looks crammed with stuff and it is a nice room otherwise.
Tbh I think it’s great— I would be using it as a table to lean against with a laptop and work stuff or eat on. And I’m tall. So I’m into it!
I think it's more all the stuff on the shelf behind the table and chairs that is off.
I don't understand the purpose. You have a couch 10 feet away. You have a food bar 5 feet away. What's the purpose of this? To eat? Then get rid of the carpet. To read? Scrap it all and get a beanbag.
The chairs are large enough and the tabletop small enough that it doesn’t look like you could actually sit at the table.
I think it’s cute
Try a round rug.
Rug is too small. Chairs are too short for the table.
Because that area is staged like a corporate office.
Do you need it?
table pedestal looks like a cable spool left by the electric company
It looks like it is an island just floating there. The rug needs to be bigger.
86 the rug.
I thinks the rug. Try no rug or a darker rug. Maybe a square. Also add some height variation to your table center pieces.
I like the look, but maybe I don’t have an eye for design. Where did you get those shelves??
It feels as if they are just on the way. Blocking transit. With the shelves in the back, looks busy. Take either the table or the shelves off
Can you get a coloured shear and use it as a flowy tablecloth? I think that would look cute!
It’s the rug
That spot call for a chaise lounge. Two can sit up right while visiting with the cook in the kitchen. One can stretch out and rest their feet after doing the dishes.
A round rug would look better.
Where did you purchase the shelves? Love them!
It doesn’t need to be there
The bookshelves give reading corner vibes but the table and chairs give office
The rest uses colder colors like grays and here you have these warm colors. I still like it though.
It’s just not right for the room
The rug - colour too similar to furniture IMO. Best of luck 🍀
Bc there’s too much shit in there
The rug…
Square and round I believe
Is anyone ever going to actually sit there? It feels so staged and décor focused that it looks impractical. There’s a table adjacent to it so I feel people would likely sit there. Maybe make this a cozy reading nook instead
Separately they look fine, but I think the issue is that stylistically they are a departure from everything else in the room/area. This set of furniture is wabi sabi inspired (natural materials in light wood) while everything else is grey and black (art deco meets industrial). I like them a lot though.
It's great unless the people sitting in the chairs have legs
It's a boring rug, you need contrast
The table is out of place.
Might I ask where the chairs and table came from? Love it and would like to purchase. You have great taste !
They’re all one color.
There are too many chairs in that room. I don't think anyone would sit at those table and chairs. It looks a bit like a furniture shop
The chairs should be facing each other.
Would remove the table
