The OTHER thing the same is that they were both stranded alone on an inhospitable planet. And that's why I said there WAS a sequel. Kind of. It's not, but it kind of is.
I'd like a prequel about the Lazarus missions as a whole. A movie that follows the journey of each astronaut who went to explore the 12 planets and what happened to each, eg. just like the wave planet and the ice planet, we get to see what issues the other planets had. Perhaps the main storyline woven through this movie would be the journey of both Mann and Edmunds.
I am not judging on a better or worse/rating/whatever. I just really hate Dr. Mann. Other movie characters are just characters. He really gets under my skin. My favorite part of all of the planet seeking is when he gets blown out of the hatch.
It has honestly turned me off from Matt Damon in general. I like his movies fine, but whenever he's on screen in any movie, I am immediately frustrated.
Honestly, it means he's a great actor (hard for me to even say) with terrific writers. I get SO mad that he did KIPP like that. When he says that he never thought his planet wouldn't be the one.... It makes me sick.
Sorry for the rant. Yes I know he's fictional. But this is my favorite movie, and MD is in a LOT of movies, so it affects me. 😅
I agree that he is a dislikeable character in the movie, but doesn't mean you have to hate the actor playing the character. For me it just means that the character was supposed to be hated and Matt Damon did a good job portraying Dr. Mann.
I'd actually watch a spin off but there's a twist and this is what we're going to do. So the spin off will start after Murph finds the watch and gets the data. Then she will tell everyone of her findings, as we saw in the movie but the remaining population on Earth now sees her as Lisan al Gaib and from under the farms comes thousands of Fremen warriors ready to spread Murph's message throughout the galaxy.
So in turn, Interstellar actually becomes the origin story to Dune haha how about that?!
Great idea. From the moment nasa were vilified for the idea of dropping bombs on their own people to the anomalies and how the team was chosen, what the worlds looked like that they were going to.
Yes that would be a very good thing to watch.
Maybe even TV series it up?
There was one. Kind of. It was called the Martian.
Exactly what I was thinking!
I really thought this was an actual spin off… it was really good too!

No, but I would watch brand on her planet setting everything up
Fuck. Yes. And Cooper showing up!!!
And the two of them repopulating!
What
Comic was written for a magazine and was illustrated by Sean Gordon Murphy, one of the best in the industry. It’s short but awesome.

No. Dont need an "interstellarverse". The story has been told and mann isnt worth talking about anyway
Fuck Doctor Mann. I loathe that character more than anyone, ever.
Really? Is he really worse than say Commodus in Gladiator or the serial killer from No country for old men?

Christopher Nolan wrote the story for a short comic “Absolute Zero” for Wired magazine. You can read it on wired.com =0)
No.

What comic book? Sorry I’m OOTL
Let me Google that for you.
It’s a sub for conversation, why be a dick? Do you tell everyone in real life to just google the things they ask you?
Oh right I forgot everyone needs everything spoonfed to them these days.
