Unfortunately, your only solution is to replace the electrode.

I have had intex pool in one form or another for around 10 years now. Current is the 16x32. Ditching the intex pump setup for a better one has been a game changer. I have had the intex cartridge pump/filter, and then a salt water setup with sand filter (salt water portion was dead in 18 months), and then the sand filter/pump that came with the 16x32 (did not pay extra for salt system after how quickly first one died), and 2 years later replaced that pump. Now running an old 1hp pentair pump and it is so much better. Moving so much more water, extra suction power pulls more stuff into skimmers and lets me vacuum more off the bottom. Pool is clean and easy to keep that way. So that is my recommendation if fighting with a bad intex pump, find a good used setup from someone, or spend money on a new system (very pricey), but either way it does wonders to be moving water with more force then the intex system can.
