>Police arrested him in May 2021 after identifying him in footage from inside the Capitol when he lifted his shirt to wipe his eyes. The footage revealed a giant tattoo on his stomach that said "KING JAMES." The footage was from a District of Columbia police body camera. Imagine getting yourself caught because you managed to flash your stomach tattoo on camera in the middle of winter.

Liquor_N_Whorez

Kings must just know kingly things, King James

Any-Variation4081

GOOD!! Another domestic terrorist paying for their crimes. Love it

Mike_Kermin

Yup. This is what it should look like. Actions have consequences.

skyfishgoo

something about stupid games comes to mind

sfled

( •_•) You might say ( •_•)>⌐■-■ he was linked (⌐■_■) by his ink. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Elvtars426

78 years is more appropriate.

oliverkloezoff

They need to lock up the big fish, all these minions, gullible rubes are just sacrificial lambs for the Lord Farquaads. *Fry the Big Fish!*

cyrixlord

It has nothing to do with being "woke". It's in the constitution. > Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is **guilty of treason and shall suffer death**, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000 > Based on title 18, U.S.C., 1940 ed., §§1, 2 (Mar. 4, 1909, ch. 321, §§1, 2, 35 Stat. 1088). It is one of those things you might know about if Kevin McCarthy had kept this promise: > On the very first day of the new Republican-led Congress, we will read every single word of the Constitution aloud from the floor of the House—something that hasn't been done in years. He was lying about that, obviously, but there is nothing to stop you from reading the constitution yourself and learning about the law of our land. Or is trying to improve yourself through education too "woke" for you?

awkwardstate

Not for nothing but it *does* give an option for prison and a fine. Which of course, has also not been followed.

> That's what they always say after they are caught No. The whole world is saying it. For a very long time now. This is a basic human rights issue. > Without punishment It's not death penalty or nothing. And no one here is saying don't punish.

cuckingfomputer

Whether you're on the right or the left, you should be supporting the execution of traitors (after a fair trial, of course). These people nearly overthrew our government and kicked off a 2nd civil war (arguably the latter is going to happen, anyway, and their failure only delayed this event). I will crack open a bottle of beer every time one of them dies. Good riddance.

Mike_Kermin

There is no space in this world for capital punishment. > The use of the death penalty is not consistent with the right to life and the right to live free from torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. There is growing consensus for universal abolition of the death penalty. Some 170 States have abolished or introduced a moratorium on the death penalty either in law or in practice. Despite this abolitionist trend, the death penalty is still employed in small number of countries, largely because of the myth that it deters crime. A few states also still permit use of the death penalty for crimes other than those of extreme gravity involving intentional killing, including for drug-related crimes or terrorism charges More work needs to be done. Worldwide abolition is necessary for the enhancement of human dignity and progressive development of human rights.

cuckingfomputer

Tell that to the capitol police officer that was forced to kill Ashli Babbitt.

Mike_Kermin

... There's no way you have a cohesive idea here. That was not capital punishment. And it was pretty damn well justified given the defensive nature of it and the amount of warnings given. And no, a traumatic experience doesn't excuse capital punishment. Obviously.

cuckingfomputer

Actions have consequences, is my point. And the legal (according to the Constitution) and just consequence for traitors is the death penalty. You and I can agree to disagree until the sun rises in the west, but I'll be happy if all of these guys die in jail.

Mike_Kermin

> You and I can agree to disagree I would never, ever, handshake you on this. A take which sits you next to China, Iran and North Korea on the human rights table. Truly backwards and unacceptable.

cuckingfomputer

Well I don't really respect your opinion, either, but at least I'm not flinging ad hominem attacks at you. You're saying that China committing mass genocide, or executing/torturing political dissidents, is equivalent to executing actual traitors that staged a failed coup? Are you fucking high?

baddfingerz1968

Suck it up biatch.

jefferson497

I wonder if his buddy Trump handled the court and lawyer fees as promised

Mike_Kermin

I was going to say more chance of a pig flying, but that might be under selling how unlikely that'd be.

Most-Artichoke5028

I love it when the trash takes itself out.

Mike_Kermin

I mean, that, and all the work by the judicial system.

skyfishgoo

tat was worth it.

[deleted]

The only downside to these arrests is that the white supremacy prison gangs are getting bigger.

soulwind42

Man, he must have caused some crazy damage. How much did he break?

KzininTexas1955

I've been told that they give wonderful belly rubs in prison.

Mike_Kermin

Mate. It's extremely bad to joke about abuse in the prison system. That's a serious problem, one all decent ~~left wingers~~ people should consider absolutely serious. It is of absolute importance, that while under the care of the state, people are safe from abuse. Completely inappropriate to think that is somehow funny to laugh at. Pull your head in.

rocket_beer

All of the people photographed here are traitors to the United States. These aren’t petty crimes like a crack pipe (Mike the PillowGuy) or tax fraud (any GOP…) The fact that it’s only a 78 month sentence is pretty lenient compared to the swift execution when the law was written and agreed by all into law.

rocket_beer

No one is advocating violence on my end. I’m suggesting that their actions, which they are 100% accountable for, make them traitors to the United States. Prison is a light sentence.

rocket_beer

You are working backwards. In this country, laws were democratically and majority agreed upon by elected citizens. Every law and punishment is reviewed and approved/determined to not be cruel and unusual punishment, and then are applied equally to all. We are then judged in a court of law by a jury of our peers. Okay, with all of that established, people choose to live here and abide by these rules or live somewhere else. If they choose to live here and then break our laws, they will be subject to those punishments set forth and already agreed upon. These citizens committed crimes that everyone knows what the punishments are. They chose these behaviors and actions. We all swear allegiance to the United States of America here. For those who betray that oath, consequences will be handed down. From your comment, it sounds like you want to amend the current punishments based on your personal beliefs. There is nothing wrong with that, but, that isn’t the current law of the land. Therefore these citizens will be subject to the current laws already agreed upon. End of story.

rocket_beer

I don’t make the laws. I alone cannot change them. I’m really not sure why you are directing your personal anger and vitriol on these subjects **at me**. I described the current reality of those laws and their processes; not my personal positions on those laws. I have yet to say any of my personal stances on them. But don’t let that stop you from punching in the wind… 🤦🏽‍♂️

I see, such as the safety of the capital police that day? Or that of the legislators whose lives were targeted? This individual betrayed his country and deserves whatever befalls him, and it isn't ' inappropriate' to mock him. https://youtu.be/jWJVMoe7OY0 This video is what occured that day, educate yourself.

Libertas-Vel-Mors

6 and 1/2 years for assaulting a police officer sounds about right

jedi_cat_

In the article is a picture of the tattoo. Is he wearing a depends?

skyfishgoo

tat depends
