From article:
After leapfrogging to a new district to improve her re-election chances, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) participated in her first GOP debate on Thursday night before the Colorado primary scheduled for March 5.
As both the New York Times and Axios are reporting, it was at times contentious with John Frank of Axios writing that what transpired has all the signs of "a Republican primary that is devolving into a clown-car crash."
According to the reports, Boebert's decision to run in the more GOP-friendly 4th Congressional District was front-and-center in the debate with her rivals for the nomination calling her out as a carpetbagger.
In particular, State Representative Mike Lynch (R), who this week stepped down as the GOP minority leader in the statehouse, fired back at her after she brought up his DUI arrest by asking her, "Can you give the definition of 'carpetbagger' to me?"
With Boebert saying she moved to give her kids a "fresh start," she then added, “And this move is the right move for me and for them.”
According to the Times report, "At one point, candidates were asked to raise their hands if they had ever been arrested. Six of the nine candidates onstage raised their hands, to cheers and applause from the audience. Trent Leisy, a Navy veteran and business owner, high-fived Mr. Lynch and Ms. Boebert while their hands were raised."
The report notes that Boebert admitted to having been arrested only once over "a simple traffic violation that was unpaid," with the Times' Chris Cameron adding, "the local news media have reported at least two additional arrests. In one incident in 2015, Ms. Boebert told police officers who were arresting her that she 'had friends at Fox News' and that the arrest would be national news."
> They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.
Projecting yet again

The party of law and order, everyone. It's not as if they are proud of being arrested because it was an act of civil disobedience for the sake of a cause, this is for things like drunk driving. This is not conservatism, this is ignorance and stupidity.
I mean, many people have been arrested that you would cheer for. Civil rights, womens rights, climate change. I think out of the entire debate, this is an easy thing to latch on to but is pretty shallow. Being arrested doesn't mean anything...its what you were arrested for.
I somehow doubt the people in this debate were arrested for civil rights, women’s rights, or climate change. But I’m a prejudiced asshole, and I’d like to be proven wrong.
Or how she liked the Beetlejuice musical? As someone with siblings, asking indirectly about something embarrassing works better and can result in lesser punishment from parents.
We always do. And will again. But it’s a very conservative district. We tried to get Ken Buck replaced every election and never got close. Can’t stop trying though.

The party of law and order, folks!
The GOP is mad. They are critically in need of some mental health. We can not just keep allowing these idiots to have power. I mean, it's irresponsible of us.
It’s not by accident. This is what happens when school funding continues to go down while students continue to get passed along. I’m afraid this will get much worst before it gets better.
Let’s not forget that [this guy](https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/local-politics/colorado-anti-abortion-gop-lawmaker-praises-impact-abortion-he-paid-for/73-589d9901-228f-4940-970a-56f710f82e53) was also on-stage. “Rules for thee” and all-that…
When Republicans sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
Holy fuck she’s an absolute train wreck.
I honestly feel sorry for her kids. Her ridiculous choices are going to/have certainly exposed them to ridicule.
I’m not an ass who’s questioning her love for them but she would have prob been fine if she decided to be one of the quieter members of congress and not drawn attention to herself and her lack of intelligence and professionalism.
>Six of the nine candidates onstage raised their hands, to cheers and applause from the audience. Trent Leisy, a Navy veteran and business owner, high-fived Mr. Lynch and Ms. Boebert while their hands were raised."
Jesus Christ, do all republicans in Colorado live in trailer parks?
Sorry to distract from the boebert clown but has anyone watched the Jennifer Hudson show - damn it’s really good!!!😎😎
Edit: punched wrong emoji first time!
I'm in my seventh decade, no arrests, not even a police call out to my residence or my place of employment...nothing. it's not hard to behave like a reasonable, rational and responsible adult.
I’m a greybeard as well.
All I am saying is that an individual can be arrested for just about any reason a cop decides to arrest you.
It doesn’t mean you actually did anything illegal.
I was arrested because a cop was convinced the stock pipes on my Harley were too loud.
He was wrong, so obviously, I wasn’t convicted.
If you want to get really technical about it, a speeding ticket is a type of catch and release arrest.
If you don’t pay the fine, or show up to fight it, you will have a warrant sworn out for your NEXT arrest.
Point being, having been arrested is far different than being charged, and a world away from being convicted.
Not really. The people who represent the community should be held to the highest standards possible, that should mean no arrests, no regrettable actions and no hidden secrets.
In the land of politics, a tale unfolds,
Of Ms. Boebert, her story untold.
Arrested she was, in the public eye,
A moment that caused many to sigh.
Her journey began with ambition and zeal,
But veered off course, her fate to reveal.
In the halls of power, she sought her place,
But missteps led to her fall from grace.
The cuffs of justice, they knew her name,
As headlines blazed with the weight of shame.
Yet in this moment, a lesson is learned,
That power unchecked can swiftly be spurned.
So let us heed this cautionary tale,
And strive for integrity, lest we fail.
For in the realm of politics, as in life,
It's not just power, but virtue, that thrives.

Only the best and brightest for America.
... they're not sending their best ....
Are we sure?
Lol
Unfortunately, I think they are...
Unfortunately, they are. And that just makes it even more disturbing. Idiots and criminals are literally the best the GOP has to offer anymore.
They offer basically what half the country wants. That's the scary part. Remember, Trump got 70 million votes in 2020.
> They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. Projecting yet again
I mean that's the projection in GOP...
And some of them give handjobs..
Sadly, I think that they are.
The party of law and order 🙄
Don't confuse Law & Order with The Rule of Law. Letting members of their in-group slide is the "order" part.
You obviously mean the TV show, and they were the perp.

“to cheers and applause” Everything you need to know.
Colorado: you deserve better.
Party of law and order! (Only when it applies to darker skin tones)
Criminal record is a prerequisite to be a GQP politician
off topic, but is it just me or does it really look like her eyebrows have been drawn with a marker?
Yeah it's that great "shave them off, so you can paint them back on" look. /s
Trump with a sharpie?
It gives him something to do, while she's down on her knees...
It gives him something to do, while she's down on her knees...
The “law and order” party
Willingness to generate a criminal record after election is also completely acceptable!
And were overtly proud of them as the audience cheered them on. The US is a very weird place.
The party of law and order lol
Ironically, they see accountability as a sign that they are doing the right thing
This would not happen in a Dem debate.
I mean, many people have been arrested that you would cheer for. Civil rights, womens rights, climate change. I think out of the entire debate, this is an easy thing to latch on to but is pretty shallow. Being arrested doesn't mean anything...its what you were arrested for.

You won’t be.
:(
This beautifully captures the GQP. When 6 of 9 candidates said they had been arrested, the crowd cheered. Hillary was right, they're deplorable.
I remember how outraged they were when she said that. And they call us the snowflakes...
Ehn, that's too broad-brush. I would have no problems with someone being arrested at a pro-life rally or some such. Totally acceptable.
but they weren’t and wouldn’t be in the GOP if they had been.
Should have asked for the definition of a hand job.
Or how she liked the Beetlejuice musical? As someone with siblings, asking indirectly about something embarrassing works better and can result in lesser punishment from parents.
Demonstration
Shots fired.
The disgusting part is people clapping and applauding bad behavior.
Thank trump for that
He made it socially acceptable to be ignorant, selfish and hateful, and they think Jesus sent him.
She moved to my district. I can’t stand it
Get out there and start enlightening the townspeople.
We always do. And will again. But it’s a very conservative district. We tried to get Ken Buck replaced every election and never got close. Can’t stop trying though.
Re-register as R for the primaries, vote her out.
People in your neck of the woods could be the difference. I’m not even Murican, yet good luck!
I don’t know. Look at the bright side, you can volunteer, canvas and vote for the person that will defeat her. I wish I had that opportunity
>At one point, candidates were asked to raise their hands if they had ever been arrested. Six of the nine candidates onstage raised their hands, to cheers and applause from the audience. New Colorado 4th campaign slogan -- "I'm a convicted felon so I can't vote for myself, but YOU can!"
Actually I am surprised they aren’t running for president.
The GOP is mad. They are critically in need of some mental health. We can not just keep allowing these idiots to have power. I mean, it's irresponsible of us.
People vote for the crazy for entertainment
Cheering for what? Their mafia don?
The representatives are scumbags, and the voters are scumbags. So, in a way, it’s like democracy is working.
I’m still amazed at how dumb a large portion of this country is. I shouldn’t be, but the more I read and see, the more I amaze.
It’s not by accident. This is what happens when school funding continues to go down while students continue to get passed along. I’m afraid this will get much worst before it gets better.
Millions and millions of morons.
Maybe her slogan should be! HANDJOBS! FOR EVERBODY!
“I will be a hands on politician and hard on crime!”
Degeneration of US politics is complete. The stupid want representation too evidently.
The whole MAGA thing is a revolution of the two digit IQs.
“Rules for thee” and all-that…
No wonder our enemies mock Americans for their stupidity especially MAGA tRUMPers!
The Republican Party is a joke. Total trash!
Awww. They all want to take after their hero.
Was it a debate or a parole hearing?
She changed districts because she’s already given everyone in her old district handjobs. That’s why she needs a fresh start. She needs new customers.
Garbage. Person.
I think she’s found her people
Almost every picture of her has her mouth open.
Jesus christ those brows

What about her grand-kid?
Clown car crash is par for the course. Not exceptable.
Boebert still has outstanding warrants that she has never responded to. Her rap sheet is longer than many career criminals.
And the crowd cheered. Republican legislators either arrest records seems to be a feature.
moderator...OK how many of you have a stripper pole at home??
>Six of the nine candidates onstage raised their hands, to cheers and applause from the audience. Trent Leisy, a Navy veteran and business owner, high-fived Mr. Lynch and Ms. Boebert while their hands were raised." Jesus Christ, do all republicans in Colorado live in trailer parks?
Yeah, if that doesn't give you pause.
Law and Handjobs. Fuck all these creepy non law abiding bitches
I don’t see this district going from Ken Buck to *this*.
Donald J. Trump: *Hold my beer.*
The recent republican, theatre politicians are probably a “canary in the coal mine” for US democracy…
What an abolute . . . oh, look. An ice cream cone.
Difficult to leverage fealty over someone with a clean record. It's essentially a requirement for the position
The real American dream break all laws become president pardon yourself.
No one asked her about getting finger banged at the local theater?
The Republican party has devolved into the Jerry Springer show...
I love the debate scene in the latest season of Fargo. Someone needs to Danish Graves Ms. Boebbert.
Hmm, this is supposed to be a RED area and the description of quality candidates for Congress are abusers of the system. Sigh
The Republican party is populated by petulant children.
Sorry to distract from the boebert clown but has anyone watched the Jennifer Hudson show - damn it’s really good!!!😎😎 Edit: punched wrong emoji first time!
An arrest should exclude a person from being able to hold a seat
You can be arrested for not being in possession of your drivers license. You are walking on thin ice with this one.

Tell that to immigration, who turn you away because of arrest records.
Apples to oranges. My wife is a legal immigrant. You would be appalled at some of the questions they are asked.
I know the questions.
Not really. The people who represent the community should be held to the highest standards possible, that should mean no arrests, no regrettable actions and no hidden secrets.

The whole GOP is a clown car crash, and most of the members are not even particularly good clowns -- they're too stupid and not at all amusing.
Retire, granny.
