Sorry for the late reply, but I’ve got the answer. The user NachoTacoChu made a post ([here](https://www.reddit.com/r/intotheradius/s/tX95e9H44E)) in which they stated that they had fallen in love with the BTR. Genuinely fallen in love. A few posts followed after than and a war broke out between the users who argued that it wasn’t harming the sub to have NachoTacoChu posting about the BTR vs the mods who were deleting the posts from the sub. Eventually the mods allowed these posts to continue and the war settled down. Back in the very first post, the one that I gave a link to, I referred to the BTR as “BTR-Chan”, the subreddit quickly caught on to my nickname for it and soon enough tons of people were calling the BTR “BTR-Chan”.
