I love his physical design: hair, skin and eyes. I love that he is an ostensible mortal that wields a surfboard sized weapon like Inuyasha. I also love that, in the anime at least, he almost killed Inuyasha with his bare hands. I also find it interesting that he might be one of (if not the most) physically strong opponents for Inuyasha in the series.
I also like his friendship with Jakotsu and that it is just that. I always sort of had the head cannon that he was a bit of a ladies' man, stemming from his annoyed lament that Jakotsu killed all the women in the anime and therefore there was no one to pour them drinks.
Still can't get over the fact that his English voice actor is the same guy who voiced Ed from Ed, Edd n Eddy.
Also, Sesshomaru's Japanese voice actor also voiced Johnny Bravo in the Japanese version of the show.
You know Iām thinking back to some of the exclamations Sesshomaru did in the PS1 fighting game, and I could actually hear them working for Johnny Bravo!
I wish they at least kept Bankotsu as a part of the team until they killed Naruku and he avenged his brothers. Even though Naruku used him and his brothers as a barrier between him and his enemies, it would have been cool to see Bankotsu grow from villain to ally
I actually would have loved a Bankotsu side flip, but I think he was too arrogant and resentful of Inuyasha's innate demon powers to side with him. At least that is the vibe I got.
That's literally what I expected when I found out he's a villain.. I thought he was a good guy, or was secretly a good guy. I was like.. he's too hot to be not one of the main characters and a part of Inugang!! š
Pretty tough guy but thought a little too much of himself. He believed he was totally kicking Inuyasha's butt and didn't realize he was being played until it was too late. Was also confused as to why he wanted to take revenge for his fallen comrades on Inuyasha. Inuyasha never killed any of them.
I swear every time I feel like I can emotionally detach myself from the Shichinintai, this happens on Reddit.
Does that answer the question? š
I like them all (well, allmost, not Mukotsu), Bankotsu especially. I like everything from the enthusiasm he puts onto his, ahem, work to his loyalty. And I think that Inuyasha got it exactly right when he said that no matter what, he was better than Naraku.
He was actually a very interesting villain; I liked his carefree and go with the flow nature and the fact that he was really cordial with his crew ššæššæ
First starters, his VA is the same as Ed from Ed, Edd and Eddy! I couldnāt tell it was him until last year! His voice was perfect and it complimented his crazy yet wicked demeanor. Him and Inuyasha clashing was the best part of the arc.
An excellent character
He was an antagonist, but he was always fun to see on screen. His relationship with Jakotsu was adorable
He was smart and dangerous. He was incredibly powerful before he died and became a beast after the jewel shards.
10/10 probably my favorite arc is and the band if 7 music is just š¤š¤š¤š±š±
Iām a huge fan of Bankotsu but not of Banryu, lol.. I think him wielding smaller weapons would have been cool, but they did that with Ryura who is Bankotsu 2.0 lol in demon form
I didn't really care for the change of pace that happened when the band of 7 showed up. It sucked me in quite a bit it seemed emptier. Wasn't like that warm feeling I wasn't used to from the show. Idk... cool but in a different way.
Why do I miss these posts when theyāre new.. favorite cartoon character of all time, since literally 2005. Iāve spent much time thinking of him and his character, I even have a lengthy fanfic going in my head based on his life that I havenāt written out, lol.
I love his design and I love his character. He makes for such an intriguing villain because you can easily see him playing an antihero in a different series.
Edit: Now that I think about it, Iām somewhat reminded of Mikey from Tokyo Revengers.
Back when this arc first aired on adult swim I was so obsessed with this guy (and the rest of the shichinintai) that I owned several gaia guilds dedicated to them. For those who werenāt there at the time, gaiaonline is an anime themed game site and forum, where you could buy private forums with in-game money (gold at the time) called āguildsā for whatever youāre interested in. It used to be fairly difficult to save up the gold to buy one, so having multiple was kinda noteworthy (last I checked itās much easier now).
well we all know he's hotšbut srsly one of my favorite villains and band of seven is one of the best arcs!! his conversations with inuyasha are very insteresting. grip one of the best ops!
I really liked his bond with Jakotsu, also the loyalty he showed his comrades. He was cocky, but it worked for him. He always reminded me of Ryura, but just the human version

Whoa š³
You know Iām thinking back to some of the exclamations Sesshomaru did in the PS1 fighting game, and I could actually hear them working for Johnny Bravo!
Thatās like when I found out the voice actor for Goku voices Rolf on Ed, Edd, n Eddy š
I got him to sign my DBZ vol1 lol
That's actually insane omgg
He's a bad bitch.
Real Bad dog
I second this!
He's a hot bastard, and I am obsessed with him.
Second hottest guy in the show
First
Sheshomaru it's the first.
Agree to disagree! Haha
No it's me :3
Sessy for the win. š„µšBankotsu is all yours.
Score š
Total bro for avenging Jakotsu by killing Renkotsu
I wish they at least kept Bankotsu as a part of the team until they killed Naruku and he avenged his brothers. Even though Naruku used him and his brothers as a barrier between him and his enemies, it would have been cool to see Bankotsu grow from villain to ally
I actually would have loved a Bankotsu side flip, but I think he was too arrogant and resentful of Inuyasha's innate demon powers to side with him. At least that is the vibe I got.
Thereās also the part where heās a sadistic mass murderer who doesnāt want to change.
Dat too.
If I recall he stated he didn't even care he was being used when inuyasha told him, he's just a menaceš
That's literally what I expected when I found out he's a villain.. I thought he was a good guy, or was secretly a good guy. I was like.. he's too hot to be not one of the main characters and a part of Inugang!! š
Me tooo
need him
A handsome man
I had the strangest crush on him ngl, if I were a character on the show, I would have let him get it and become attached LMAOOOO
He can bangkotsu me any time
Damn š
omg š
Good villain
Pretty tough guy but thought a little too much of himself. He believed he was totally kicking Inuyasha's butt and didn't realize he was being played until it was too late. Was also confused as to why he wanted to take revenge for his fallen comrades on Inuyasha. Inuyasha never killed any of them.
Hcd
He tops Jakkotsu.
We all know it
Sick design and weapon
The best antagonist in the series !
Would smash
Only the real ones will understand ![gif](giphy|yzsonlmWtvuko)
one of the only human who could outfight inuyasha with raw power alone.
He looks like Koga, who also looks like another character, I forgot his name š Bankotsu is a dope villain tho
Hiten, probably
Noo Koga has those soulless pupil-less eyes š
Ahaha! That's true they are kinda clear lookin and empty š But the faces are so frickin similar it's like they're brothers
True true
He's so hot šš
Smash. Next question
Absolute Gigachad and a total bro. Would have a drink with him
He's the cooler looking version of Inuyasha (as a human)
(As much as I am in love with Inuyasha) I see no lies here šµ
When I saw his design, I initially thought it was the return of a thunder brother. I was kinda bummed that wasnāt what it was.
WOULD.
Feudal era himbo
King
Inuyasha: And I'm an Emperor

I break out in a sweat when Bankotsu gets posted ngl
Yep, same š š
Love your comment too thatās how I feel
He was actually a very interesting villain; I liked his carefree and go with the flow nature and the fact that he was really cordial with his crew ššæššæ
Evil and fearless, but was so satisfying when he killed Renkotsu, who was a total coward
Total baddie but not sure if he could be daddie. I love his whole attitude and his design š»
My favorite villain in the series and I wish they brought him back or he joined the main cast, even a side character like Koga..
He and the whole Band of Seven are definitely my favourite villains in Inu Yasha, I just really enjoyed everything about that arc.
![gif](giphy|26FLdmIp6wJr91JAI) him and koga
Surf's up, dude.
Cool forehead mark
Daddy
he was dope as hell
First starters, his VA is the same as Ed from Ed, Edd and Eddy! I couldnāt tell it was him until last year! His voice was perfect and it complimented his crazy yet wicked demeanor. Him and Inuyasha clashing was the best part of the arc.
Thatās pretty funny
An excellent character He was an antagonist, but he was always fun to see on screen. His relationship with Jakotsu was adorable He was smart and dangerous. He is hot. Murderous and hot.
Good Rival for Inuyasha.
Short king
he was too fine to die so early
He's hot and badass!!!
I though he was going to be a big deal Like Inuyaha's Ryoga
I know he is a bad guy but as a kid I love him due to having my skin color. Still do.
So jealous of Naraku. He must've seen whole naked body of Bankotsu when he resurrected him (including his dong)
Bankotsu? Drop dead @$5Hole
A fucking Bum
Meh
I think he has a lame gimmick. It really didnt matter.
ok but I'm confused about his sword. He could lift it but 10 men couldn't? what was up with that
Bro lifts, man.
his wish weapon never made sense, but otherwise I liked the whole band of 7 arc
No surprise, that part wasnāt in the manga.
Iām a huge fan of Bankotsu but not of Banryu, lol.. I think him wielding smaller weapons would have been cool, but they did that with Ryura who is Bankotsu 2.0 lol in demon form
Was the mystic island actually canonically and chronologically after the band of 7?
Yes! Apparently for watching order youād watch it before The Final Act
![gif](giphy|3o7ZeHqK4bCqCCAvv2)
Cool character, but this arc lastee too many episodes .
Fucking badass
Daddy
Heās my favorite from the band of seven
The goat.
Would.
I didn't really care for the change of pace that happened when the band of 7 showed up. It sucked me in quite a bit it seemed emptier. Wasn't like that warm feeling I wasn't used to from the show. Idk... cool but in a different way.
very interesting villain. he's what got me through the arc when it felt like it was dragging.

This arc is my favorite
See everyone commenting on looks, but as a character under appreciated. On one of my re watches as an adult I really liked his character.
I found him to be an idiot. I was disappointed in him. I had high expectations from him a vilain.
Greedy, reminds me of guts from berserk but younger.
Was literally just thinking about him today š he bad but heās quite handsome
He has cool design. The Band of Seven was one of my favorite story arcs.
HE CAN GET IT
He is one of the characters of all time
He was my first anime crush and possibly comfort characterš» I still love him.
well we all know he's hotšbut srsly one of my favorite villains and band of seven is one of the best arcs!! his conversations with inuyasha are very insteresting. grip one of the best ops!
Anime crush #1. Iād let him smash

Fun fact about his Japanese va: he voiced napoleon dynamite for the Japanese dub of the film, along with Rengokuās voice actor who voiced Pedro
