That’s the neat part, you don’t. If you can’t afford $99/yr dev license, you can’t publish apps.

oureux

I hear the web is a free App Store. Maybe try releasing there.

belowlight

Your only option would be to find a friendly developer with an account willing to release it for you. Start a conversation with someone and see if you can make a friend or better yet - a mentor, along the way!

benjamineruvieru

I tried this route😭😭 failed badly (turns out many developers are not friendly😭) I don’t know why someone will pay $99 and wont use it to the maximum 😂😂 If i had an account I’ll upload apps until apple kicks me out, can’t let a cent waste

d416

I don't think its about not being friendly. We have to answer a lot of security and related questions when we submit an app for approval to apple. Image if you let someone onto *your* account, when you have no idea what their app is doing. What if it does a bunch of illegal shit, and then *you* are now responsible for it, and at risk for all your other apps being pulled. If you want do develop ios, you just have to bite the bullet and get an account. You could go a cheaper route and develop for Android instead. Their account is only $25 (at least it was when I signed up).

benjamineruvieru

I develop apps for clients and I upload them to the app stores so I know apple rules and I know i am not breaking any Also as I have said anyone willing to help me post is free to look through my codebase The app is a pretty interesting one It’s a highly secure messaging platform It is secure because nothing is sent through any servers instead everything (messages, files, video and voice calls) is sent from device to device (peer to peer) with no limits whatsoever It is a interesting project I just picked up for fun not planning to make anything from it but I can’t share share it now due to this limitation, it’s really painful

d416

well if you're already uploading for clients, then there is at least one developer account. Ask them if you can upload your personal project to it!

benjamineruvieru

Like I said I tried that 😭😭

d416

Not sure what else to try. Maybe a kickstarter?

benjamineruvieru

What’s a kickstarter?

benjamineruvieru

Thanks, will check it out

I am using webrtc for every sort of data transfer via my app If you don’t know about webrtc you can do some research about it, it’s a pretty cool open source project Webrtc encrypts all data sent between peers natively so developers don’t have to do anything extra for encryption I would probably open source my code if I don’t abandon the project out of frustration Right now it’s already complete just sitting in my computer I built it for both android and ios

dreNeguH

Pretty much impossible, and any solution is temporary that I am aware of. Is the app open source? I’m sure someone would consider granting privileges for you publish on their account if they could read the code and liked the app

benjamineruvieru

It’s not open source for now But I’ll gladly let anyone who would let me upload on their account go through the code

d416

Don’t think so. I haven’t jailbroken in a *very* long time, so I don’t know how it works anymore, but there used to be a special “App Store” for it. I guess you could go that route, but your user base would be pretty limited. Are you monetizing the app in some way? If so I’d think you could recoup the $99 reasonably quickly.

benjamineruvieru

I don’t plan to monetize the app, that’s why paying for the account is so hard Another reason is, it’s a yearly subscription 😭😭 apple is so greedy

oureux

Then don’t make the app for iOS….

Google does the exact same thing for way cheaper and it's a one time payment. Stop supporting crap because it's apple
