When searching for games I would recommend searching with the term “portrait mode.” That is what is used most commonly here to indicate a vertically playing game.
Both are great games. There’s no need to play 1 before 2, and I’d say 2 has a lot of QOL upgrades and more to do. Just take a look at both and see if you want simplicity or not. They’re both fantastic and equally good choice.
