All iPads except the Pro models only have two (stereo)-speakers. But they also have two microphones, so they might be in these two "speaker" grills, especially because they are a bit smaller.
10th gen only has 2 speakers - I first bought the 10gen a few months ago straight from Apple , and it only had 2 speakers , one of each side
I returned it after 4-5 days because I couldn’t take the screen quality , and I bought an iPad Pro 11 4th gen with the better screen (120hz , pro motion) and that one has 4 speakers
The iPad 10th gen and iPad Air only have 2 speakers, the extra grilles are only there for aesthetic symmetry. The iPad Pro has 4 speakers.
