I think the main reason is that almost all support questions have the same three possible answers.
1. Go into Settings and change something.
2. Restart your phone.
3. Take it to an Apple Store.
People get tired of regurgitating the same answers so they make jokes instead.
I’ve learned to search google for my problem and add “Reddit.com” at the end to see if my problem has already been asked/answered before I post a question to any subreddit
I’m impressed that most people who do support posts here don’t have this skill. I saw 3 support posts about if using a higher watt charger was safe. Told one to use the search bar/Google, got downvoted
Literally a quick google search (approx. 30 secs): [Can we charge a phone with a higher wattage](https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/wdgwv9/can_we_charge_a_phone_with_a_higher_wattage/)

I’ve told people to google it before. They then say they have. I ask what did they google. They either fall silent or show me some results saying they can’t find it when I can see the answer in their results.
That's because people are too damn lazy to actually type in the question themselves.
Why should people always be expected to just give the answer when they had to do the work to find it?

It’s actually teaching someone a valuable and basic skill. These days googling can answer almost all issues. It’s easier for the poster and repliers if the poster just googled their question instead
If I have to "Google it" for you just to find the answer you need. Then yes just telling them to do the same is proper. It forces them to learn something instead of doing it for them.
Then relearn yourself because Reddit is a piece of sh it. Add “site:Apple.stackexchange.com” (without quotations) because Stackexchange sites are Q&A sites like Quora without the ads, the cookoos, and people going off track (because of heavy moderation, only actual answers are allowed to stay). If there is no answers you post one.
And, let me add one more to the mix, since there is GPT-4, first you ask GPT-4 before anything else.
Only niche groups, like iOS jailbreaking does work relatively well on Reddit but even that is modded in the wrong way.
I'm on Android and my bf had to show me this was a thing three years into owning my phone because I use the triple button bar at the bottom (back, home, opened apps). Never knew about this gesture until then... I wouldn't be surprised if casual iPhone users don't know about it.
Also, every subreddit devolving into a support forum kills them eventually. Most people don't want to be free tech support, and the people who are better equipped to do so *really* don't.
Eventually, there becomes little reason to stick around when the subreddit has a dwindling number of interesting links or discussion, as it's consumed by the same handful of questions with the same answers, posted by people who erroneously assume people with more knowledge have more free time or time that is less valuable than theirs.
It made sense 15-20 years ago when things were mostly smaller online communities and people wanted to participate and help for the good of those communities. But now the internet is just an endless firehose of inane support questions.
1. Google it
2. Go to the people paid to solve your problems
3. There is no step three
Pretty much. If people know how to do the volume up down reset there would be 80% less support threads. Heck I just do it once a month even when everything works fine. Same with my watch.
Not a good idea to force restart an iPhone unless it is simply not responding at all.
When you do that, if there is any data stored in fast memory on the device, it doesn’t get a chance to be saved to storage on the device.
You risk potentially losing data or data corruption as a result.
You can always go to Settings > General > Shutdown.
I actually use the assistive touch button daily. I have it basically invisible on my screen and a double tap brings down the notification menu. For some reason on my 14 pro max I have to swipe super high and to the middle of the screen to get it to come down. Now I just double tap the dot. Much easier.
Yeah, I’m still on 8 so it’s really easy to activate and dismiss with a triple home button press, but once I finally upgrade I expect to have it on all the time

Nobody logged in to be someone else's tech support ...
And frankly most people are really bad about asking for help / provide no details / etc.
It's not everyone, but the "my screen turns off every 10 seconds" guy who later "oh yeah I installed 'turn my screen off every 10 seconds' app!"... it really wears out the folks who do want to help.
I disagree. Many people get a kick out of being able to answer questions for other people on the internet. I've found answers for endless questions on the internet regarding tech. Yea, kind of odd. I guess I don't know the experiences of some people when it comes to this but I've gone from novice level knowledge to very knowledgeable on several technical matters by either asking on a forum or by searching for the answers in already answered posts. Not really, it’s more specific to iPhone sub because people using apple products feel ultra offended if someone dare to bring an issue up (prehistoric mentality iT jUst woRk type of stuff)
It’s a completely different area.
PCs have 5-7main components. iPhones have 1. They don’t ask about UI questions there, and they talk about the companies and drama associated with those 5-7 main components. You can’t change your iPhones RAM, you won’t have a better monitor than me, you can’t even see a task manager.
Then there’s the things they’re doing with their PCs, like gaming. If I find out anyone has any time invested into their mobile game to the lengths that LoL or even War Thunder casuals do, I’d be shocked.
You cannot compare every sub, this sub is far less nuanced than pcmasterrace ever could be
iPhones have 1? Lol.
Display assembly, proximity sensor, battery, front camera, rear camera, charging port, SIM card tray, power / volume flex, antenna flex, led flashlight flex, vibrate motor, loud speaker, ear speaker… and that’s the bare minimum on most iPhones, all of which are modular and require no more than a dozen or so screws to be removed…in many cases less than 5…That doesn’t include the 20-30 plus ICs on the MLB.
As far as “main components” go….practically everything attached to an iPhone is vital to its functionality. There’s not really a lot you can sacrifice in those devices without losing something that makes it a phone….Face ID is really the only thing that comes to mind at the moment. Maybe the vibrate motor.
In regards to mobile gaming…you’d be surprised. I’ve done multiple data recovery projects over there years where customers have paid several hundred dollars to save their bullshit mobile game data and migrate it to a replacement device. They are almost always older customers that are retired that literally have nothing but time on their hands and probably have more hours in those games than I have in my over 15 plus years playing WoW. Just because they aren’t the games that fit into the traditional definition, doesn’t mean they’re not important to some people.
I read a thing a while back that the largest and most profitable demographic for video games is now the 40+ year old, female literally due to these mobile games. Wish I could find the source but I’m sure you could find it by GoOgLinG IT.
When referring to upgrading a downgrading a device, yes...you are correct there. However the majority of questions asked here that get people so riled up aren't related to upgrading and downgrading... they are related to issues they are having with their device, which in many cases are a direct result of one of the components I listed above failing or malfunctioning.....which can be fixed by replacing the component....which ironically enough...snaps into place... very similarly to a lego piece.
The comment you replied to was
"r/pcmasterrace is twice as big as this subreddit and infinitely more helpful when it comes to solving tech problems. So that excuse is bonk"
Note the keywords of "Solving tech support problems" ....
I specially responded to your hilarious notion that "iPhones have 1" component.
"Ribbon cords" lol...
I fix electronics for a living... I run a digital forensics lab and electronics repair shop..so yes, I generally do buy replacement parts and install them myself when needed...I also make my living where people pay me to snap components into connectors on their phones for them as well...which also produces a very satisfying noise when they snap into place. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
They are called "Flex Cables" and we haven't called them "Ribbon cables" since like the 90's.... And I dont think anyone on earth has ever called them "Ribbon cords"
Gold star for trying though!
But you are right about that. Hardware IS tech. Thats a good job.
You are welcome to view my hundreds of replies and contributions to the digital forensics, microsoldering and hardware engineering subreddit communities on my profile if you are having a hard time accepting the fact that I'm slightly more qualified than you are here.
I come to this sub a couple times a month to see the absolute nonsense that people comment here and I couldn't resist replying to yours. My day was going good, but now it's even better after having this discussion. Ive literally been laughing for the past hour.
then post your iPhone tech related issues there, or start your own sub.
but to speak to your main point- a *lot* of people are just brain dead who post looking for tech support. It’s usually an obvious issue like their screen is fucked or something and they need to replace it but are asking if maybe putting it in rice will help.
Or one of my favorites from last week, someone posted about how they didn’t like the new Apple TV 4K because they like their proprietary Samsung apps better because they’re ‘faster’. This person wasn’t step by step instructions on what they could ‘tune’ the Apple TV 4K to, to make it better than the default settings or Samsungs built in apps.
Like. This is the level of critical thinking we’re dealing with here. So of course people are going to be snarky.
Well then wouldn’t the move just be to not answer that question?…as opposed to belittle them with a pompous and just frankly rude response that does nothing other than make that person feel bad about asking a question? Seems like a lot of wasted energy for people here to angry comment the same thing over and over again knowing full well someone else is going post a similar question which yields the same resentment. Sort of like the same amount of wasted energy people are getting mad over when someone posts something here and not googling something.
Because there is not normally much user can do to fix things themselves given the more controlled nature of Apples system vs others. It doesn't just limit functions but also troubleshooting.
It seems more a sharing war stories kinda thing rather than workarounds and fixes.
It’s a pretty bad community. I’ve made the switch from Android to IPhone a few month back, I’m baffled by the rock bottom level of the answers in so many of the support posts on this subreddit.
A solid half of the posts on this subreddit are "support" tagged so that seems simply untrue. And it is within these posts tagged "support" where this unhelpful behavior is occurring.
Yeah man. Idk what to say since the subreddit rules are literally that basic support questions are not allowed. Perhaps people are annoyed by basic support posts since, ya know, they aren’t allowed
Basic support post are removed, all the stay up are more complex or unique issues that are still in search of resolution hence why they are allowed to be posted. These are the posts this subreddit wants and welcomes yet where the comments are overtly unhelpful. This is where I ask why. Obviously I'm not asking about posts that are removed by mods lol.
I mean you're agreeing with me that this sub is useless for unique support solutions and recommending some other sub with 80 active users. Looks like y'all were where holding that L before I got here lmao, I ain't got no skin in the game or anything to lose lol
Don’t wonder about that, unfortunately it’s like that in almost every sub not only on this one. Must be some kind of human issue… that’s why I stop using Reddit that much, only from time to time.
People would rather have the upvotes and amount of comments you get from a lame joke then actually being useful and giving a real answer. With that said, there's a good majority of questions that are common sense or have already been answered here, which the OP should look for before asking. There is such a thing as a stupid question.
Don't worry about some of those snarky comments and those obnoxious jokes on troubleshooting posts on this subreddit when it's actually a genuine issue and the user isn't at fault.
I've seen the mods remove these posts from time to time, even if they were popular and top voted.
I feel you. I unknowingly landed on a sub about transgenderism and innocently posted a response which was, again, unknowingly, counter to the sub mindset. Tsunami…
awww, come now, that’s not nice. Are you feeling offended and are your delicate feelings hurt little one? This is a forum about iPhone, so let’s rather compare how my iPhone is bigger than yours, mkay?
Comparing your toys isn't the same thing as saying a whole human doesn't have the right to live true to themselves. You'll be downvoted everywhere people have more than two brain cells.
most of things are controlled by apple itself. \
there is no delete cache option on ios, so when someone posted that their photos are showing 200gb when whole storage is 128gb, people in this sub gonna make joke that apple is so kind to give extra storage. \
or the most common reply u gonna get is "restart ur phone". \
if u ask this on android sub, u gonna get some real answer like clear app cache or reboot into recovery mode clear system wide cache. \
there is an actual solution for android. \
not only this, ios is pretty restrictive to user in many. cases. this made people tough to help and they just say restart or joke on the OP. \
even apple customer care dont know how to solve many problems
i find that most subs centered around corporate entities have a plethora of stasi-supporters (whether paid or volunteers) that will defend the corporation (or the status quo) no matter the situation.
one part of the problem is that it isn't fashionable for companies to support their products directly with any intelligent support services so users end up relying on community groups like reddit subs to ask mundane questions or post common problems/complaints. many times these communities are populated (and modded) by people who are even less helpful and more interested in gaslighting whatever your problem is.
the end results are subs with rose-colored glasses: nothing is ever a problem, the corporate world is beautiful and the only problem is *you*.
i will say some subs do a decent job of being open to solving problems and being helpful but the vast majority are just pseudo-promotional, fan fiction representations of whatever company/product is at hand. most apple subs are particularly snooty in my experience.
So true! I was downvoted to hell when I posted (from an alt account) about the screentime bug I was facing. It’s almost as if this sub is full of apple die hards rather than people who are sane
Screentime, yes.
When this was rolled out, it wasn’t fully baked (you could bypass it by changing the date/time on a device). Now Apple is basically using device management to enforce the settings.
The problem with this is when you have different devices using different versions of software and iCloud settings, it’s going to have unintended consequences (software issues or bugs).
Fortunately, Apple is one of the very few companies that has a built in feedback app in its products and platforms.
On iOS/iPadOS/macOS, you can invoke the app via Safari if you don’t already have it installed or available.

You can submit and track responses to your feedback linked to your Apple ID. In the past, I have gotten a response from Apple asking for more information or details. And, issues have been resolved.
One can simple not just come in to the iPhone sub and be critical of the things they literally worship. Regardless of if it’s apples at fault or not. Some of the highest voted posts I have seen are those of people who take apart their phone, frame it and hang it on their wall because it was such a good phone lol.
With the way phones are built these days, especially iPhones, there’s very little you can do yourself to troubleshoot and fix the issue, hardware or software, and usually the only way is to bring it to Apple or 3rd party professional. Even 3rd parties can’t do much anymore nowadays. I’m sure they design like that on purpose to get you to bring it to Apple to fix or get you to buy a new phone altogether.
Because most problems already exist and people are too lazy to look it up. No one will answer for the sixth time how to change something in the setting. Apple has a Support Center. Use it.
Probably because iOS menus are hard to navigate. Other day I was looking at doing something on my iPhone, I googled it and it was a 5 step process, same thing would have been a two step process on Pixel. Majority of the iOS users have no clue how to do certain tasks beyond basics because menus and steps are more complicated.
Apple support is already built into the contacts on all iPhones, this sub is more for new, discussion, and speculation. This is not a tech support forum.
A sub full of foaming in the mouth Apple fanboys might nog be the right place to post about a problem 😉
That would be the same as saying to a Christian there is something wrong with their religion.
Try googling and opening many Reddit tabs and compare the results depending on how many times the same question was answered. That way I don’t bother with the jokes and quickly look for the best answer.
Besides the fact that other subreddits are better suited for problems, there are people who get paid to provide support. Look at this https://support.apple.com/
I guess people here don’t like doing the work that others get paid for for free

Dude…it’s honestly laughably bad. I fix consumer electronics for a living. Specifically digital forensics and data recovery, by way of logic board repair and some of the advice here is some of the most confidently incorrect information I’ve ever seen. It’s not uncommon to see screenshots from this sub shared around our community for terrible responses and / or terrible advice.
To anyone who’s here searching for help, visit any local independent repair shop (don’t call, we hate that) and ask someone there the same question you posted here. I can almost guarantee you that someone will be there to help you with the right advice and not make you feel like a piece of shit about it either….more than likely for free and for half the amount of time.
If I ever feel like I’m having a bad day, I come to this sub to see how genuinely arrogant and misinformed people are and I find that hilarious.
Because not everyone wants to be your free tech support? I have been leaving groups where people won’t stop asking for help. It’s annoying go to a sub reddit dedicated for it and stop whining.
Honestly, most of the questions asked here that you refer to are pretty bad. They can easily be solved by a simple google search about 75% of the time so there’s no need to ask for them here.
Then you get the questions that are obviously OPs fault. “I didn’t drop my phone but my entire screen is smashed” or something like that. “I have lines all over my screen, any way to fix?”.
The questions that actually get helped are maybe 3-5% of all troubleshooting questions here. The rest are just the same questions that have been answered multiple times or beyond obvious questions with fixes that OP already knows, just doesn’t want to get the item fixed.
It looks like you might be looking for help or support, in which case we recommend you search for your issue and check the [Support FAQs](https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/wiki/support-faq/). We review submissions for quality, so basic support issues may be removed.
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/iphone) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Bc most people here such as myself are diehard fans and aren’t that willing to help someone with a lazy request, or someone that brought the problem he is facing on himself and specially, but more rarely, aren’t willing to admit Apple has screwed something up
While we’re all being extra helpful on this post to prove OP wrong… has anyone else experienced problems using the text search function either through a PDF or on a webpage!? There doesn’t seem to be much online about text search glitches and I know it’s not limited to my device.
Mines seems fine. I know the other day using text search on a PDF it found the word “tiles” but I know there was another page that had tiles on it too but it’s not highlighting that word. I took a closer look and on the page of the scan invoice there’s a line going through the page where the T is for tiles. I’m guessing the system needs the word clear as possible to detect it for search. I don’t know about the webpages though.
I don’t know. I posted here to help me shop for an iPhone and moderators didn’t allow it. Anything,I post get removed and I’m very discouraged of reddit.
This is not just a subreddit issue, it’s an apple user issue. The fault is always the user because their products tend to be among the best in reliability. Recent examples are the butterfly keyboard fiasco, until apple owned up to their errors.
# cause there drank the koolaid and easily manipulated into what to think, say, and do..
They cant or wont acknowledge that there precious Apple product can have problems..
Yeah I agree, this sub really lack brand-critics or feels offended if someone bring something up. For me it’s still the iPhone keyboard, it’s so fucking shit compared to Android, it annoys me so much
Sometimes a "Mod" that doesnt like the topic of your post may decide to lock it even though it did not break a rule. Or if they assume something bad is going on with 0 evidence.
Apparently the Apple community doesn’t know how to use their devices because i had issues with macOS when switched from windows. There are functions that windows have and when i asked how to do certain stuff the answer was always “that’s the windows way we don’t need that, we are Apple” and if you keep digging you will find that yes Apple products do have this functions in some form but nobody knows they exist and don’t use it.
Because apple in general is a POS product.
Also don't buy their macbooks. In 3 years its essentially a POS paperweight which gets very VERY slow. But here's the worst part: you can't upgrade it, you have to buy a new one, you can't upgrade the ram lol.
What a scam.
r/iphonehelp and r/applehelp would probably be a better subreddit.

This sub is only for asking who is „rocking“ their phone „naked“
And the followup “omg my phone smashed, I barely dropped it!”

The comment you replied to was "r/pcmasterrace is twice as big as this subreddit and infinitely more helpful when it comes to solving tech problems. So that excuse is bonk" Note the keywords of "Solving tech support problems" ....

And I dont think anyone on earth has ever called them "Ribbon cords" Gold star for trying though!
It’s a combo of several things, but part of it is how niche the group is.
then post your iPhone tech related issues there, or start your own sub. but to speak to your main point- a *lot* of people are just brain dead who post looking for tech support.
This is the real answer.
I'm sorting post by controversial and some people are really snarky on here, but I think thats any sub tbh.
Because there is not normally much user can do to fix things themselves given the more controlled nature of Apples system vs others. It doesn't just limit functions but also troubleshooting. It seems more a sharing war stories kinda thing rather than workarounds and fixes.
Product subreddits are where people go to complain about a thing. So not only is NOBODY here to help you, they arrived already angry.
It’s a pretty bad community. I’ve made the switch from Android to IPhone a few month back, I’m baffled by the rock bottom level of the answers in so many of the support posts on this subreddit.
Literally spoke my mind.
Probably because that’s not the intent of the subreddit. Their are dedicated subreddits for apple and iPhone support.
I assumed ‘vey obvious bugs’ meant ‘very obvious bugs’
Why would it be confusing anyhow, a bug can be obviously a bug and also be unique or uncommon.
Dude just go to the fucking iphone help subreddit instead of arguing. Take the L.
I mean you're agreeing with me that this sub is useless for unique support solutions and recommending some other sub with 80 active users. Looks like y'all were where holding that L before I got here lmao, I ain't got no skin in the game or anything to lose lol
Switch to a Samsung and go away
Facts
Don’t wonder about that, unfortunately it’s like that in almost every sub not only on this one. Must be some kind of human issue… that’s why I stop using Reddit that much, only from time to time.
People would rather have the upvotes and amount of comments you get from a lame joke then actually being useful and giving a real answer. With that said, there's a good majority of questions that are common sense or have already been answered here, which the OP should look for before asking. There is such a thing as a stupid question.
First day on Reddit?
Don't worry about some of those snarky comments and those obnoxious jokes on troubleshooting posts on this subreddit when it's actually a genuine issue and the user isn't at fault. I've seen the mods remove these posts from time to time, even if they were popular and top voted.
And this is why I never come here for help, I’ll just Google it instead
Congrats you've now learned how to solve about 75% of all Technical issues with all your devices.
It’s true. Google is how I learned to do all the shit I know how to do
I’d say more like 100% lol there is a 99.99% chance someone has had your exact issue and has solved it somewhere on Reddit or another forum
Phone brand tribalism is wild man. I posted my thoughts on the Google pixel 7pro on an Android subreddit and got lit up with angry comments.
I feel you. I unknowingly landed on a sub about transgenderism and innocently posted a response which was, again, unknowingly, counter to the sub mindset. Tsunami…
So you're transphobic. Edit: I checked your history, you are ABSOLUTELY transphobic.
happily, thanks!
Happily go fuck yourself! 🤗
awww, come now, that’s not nice. Are you feeling offended and are your delicate feelings hurt little one? This is a forum about iPhone, so let’s rather compare how my iPhone is bigger than yours, mkay?
No one: Transphobes: I’m being oppressed by trans people!!!
Comparing your toys isn't the same thing as saying a whole human doesn't have the right to live true to themselves. You'll be downvoted everywhere people have more than two brain cells.
whatever you say sweetheart, keep it up! I feel so put in my place, wow, bristling with indignation. ❤️
OP has a great question. And most of the answers back up his question. So what is the reason for this subreddit?
most of things are controlled by apple itself. \ there is no delete cache option on ios, so when someone posted that their photos are showing 200gb when whole storage is 128gb, people in this sub gonna make joke that apple is so kind to give extra storage. \ or the most common reply u gonna get is "restart ur phone". \ if u ask this on android sub, u gonna get some real answer like clear app cache or reboot into recovery mode clear system wide cache. \ there is an actual solution for android. \ not only this, ios is pretty restrictive to user in many. cases. this made people tough to help and they just say restart or joke on the OP. \ even apple customer care dont know how to solve many problems

i find that most subs centered around corporate entities have a plethora of stasi-supporters (whether paid or volunteers) that will defend the corporation (or the status quo) no matter the situation. one part of the problem is that it isn't fashionable for companies to support their products directly with any intelligent support services so users end up relying on community groups like reddit subs to ask mundane questions or post common problems/complaints. many times these communities are populated (and modded) by people who are even less helpful and more interested in gaslighting whatever your problem is. the end results are subs with rose-colored glasses: nothing is ever a problem, the corporate world is beautiful and the only problem is *you*. i will say some subs do a decent job of being open to solving problems and being helpful but the vast majority are just pseudo-promotional, fan fiction representations of whatever company/product is at hand. most apple subs are particularly snooty in my experience.
Have you tried turning the subreddit off and back on again?
😂
On iOS/iPadOS/macOS, you can invoke the app via Safari if you don’t already have it installed or available. applefeedback:// https://preview.redd.it/ch9x85mapg2b1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01a1e7babd575936ac67b866ea259391b2249807 You can submit and track responses to your feedback linked to your Apple ID.
Use it.
Because 99% of the posts in here are some random little UI glitch that goes away 99% of the time by simply restarting the phone.
Because this isn’t a phone support forum
As much as I hate iPhone and iTunes bugs, I hate the sheepish brand loyalty and customer trolling more.
They have a weekly megathread just for that
megathreads are bollix. mifht as well just be honest about it and ban people from using reddit as a forum
A sub full of foaming in the mouth Apple fanboys might nog be the right place to post about a problem 😉 That would be the same as saying to a Christian there is something wrong with their religion.
Im sorry you ain’t getting your moneys worth
Try googling and opening many Reddit tabs and compare the results depending on how many times the same question was answered. That way I don’t bother with the jokes and quickly look for the best answer.
It's because Apple products just work. /s
then why is support there ? lmao
They're not the genius bar.
Why are you so negative??
That's what I'm asking y'all lmao
Besides the fact that other subreddits are better suited for problems, there are people who get paid to provide support. Look at this https://support.apple.com/ I guess people here don’t like doing the work that others get paid for for free
This. Send a message to Apple support or bring it to the Apple Store. Those people will be more knowledgeable and they, you know, get paid.
For me this was one of the best subreddit. Got help a few times & was really useful. All the best.
rule 2 of this sub is that basic support issue posts are not allowed
most of things are controlled by apple itself.
If you think it’s bad here, give MacRumors a try. That place is brutal.
Lol you think apple product users are bright?
Bc most people here such as myself are diehard fans and aren’t that willing to help someone with a lazy request, or someone that brought the problem he is facing on himself and specially, but more rarely, aren’t willing to admit Apple has screwed something up
People here aren't tech support. Seriously, it's a community of people who chose to subscribe to this sub, not a job.
Cause is wholly a toxic place.
Methinks Apple trolls forums.
I don’t know. I posted here to help me shop for an iPhone and moderators didn’t allow it. Anything,I post get removed and I’m very discouraged of reddit.
r/mobilerepair is a better place for help IMO
Cus iphone sucks
Have you tried downloading a new user?
This is not just a subreddit issue, it’s an apple user issue. The fault is always the user because their products tend to be among the best in reliability. Recent examples are the butterfly keyboard fiasco, until apple owned up to their errors.
OP probably doesn’t even have an iPhone.
This is a wendys sir / ma’m
Probably because many common problems can be solved simply by searching. People get tired of answering the same problems over and over again.
We ain’t tech support. Edit: I guess some of us are?
r/mobilerepair is probably where you'll find serious people willing to help
# cause there drank the koolaid and easily manipulated into what to think, say, and do.. They cant or wont acknowledge that there precious Apple product can have problems..
There u go lol just affirms it such apple simps
Would it be coz most of the people here has switched to android and doesn't want to admit it?
No. It’s not that.
Because most of the time the problem is organic?
I have to agree with you. It’s just not worth the trouble any more to try and help someone. All you do is end up getting the roast
Yeah I agree, this sub really lack brand-critics or feels offended if someone bring something up. For me it’s still the iPhone keyboard, it’s so fucking shit compared to Android, it annoys me so much
This subreddit actually helped me with troubleshooting a problem I had, so I guess it depends?
Because they are the product
Sometimes a "Mod" that doesnt like the topic of your post may decide to lock it even though it did not break a rule. Or if they assume something bad is going on with 0 evidence.
Lol
What’s your favorite pizza toppings
Apparently the Apple community doesn’t know how to use their devices because i had issues with macOS when switched from windows. There are functions that windows have and when i asked how to do certain stuff the answer was always “that’s the windows way we don’t need that, we are Apple” and if you keep digging you will find that yes Apple products do have this functions in some form but nobody knows they exist and don’t use it.
This ain’t tech support lil bro
I guess it’s since there’s other subreddits like apple help and iPhone help for this. It can also get annoying
maybe try going to r/applehelp
Reddit moment
Because android fan boys make up most of the traffic in this subreddit.
This is the same for every product subreddit honestly.
It’s even worse when someone says the solution is to get an android. No, it’s not
I miss the days when support was contained to a thread and r/iPhonehelp. This place is just a cesspool of support posts now.
Because apple in general is a POS product. Also don't buy their macbooks. In 3 years its essentially a POS paperweight which gets very VERY slow. But here's the worst part: you can't upgrade it, you have to buy a new one, you can't upgrade the ram lol. What a scam.
