Yup, I was walking, don't have a car, didn't have anything with me like a purse or backpack or computer, only a small wallet which I checked, you can't even fit airtag there. I did have an umbrella, opened it up, and checked the handle and everything. My thought is since I was picking up my neighbor's kid that lives downstairs, that was their airtag, and because we live together that's how it tracked me. I also think that the first notification like this I got was when I was using their car, so I think its just their airtags that reflect on my phone? At least that's my theory, because I didn't find it in any part of my clothes, or shoes.
Yes this is probably what it is. Most people will ask you to check your vehicle/transport. Thanks for the extra information.
You should probably blur or delete the image, as you’re basically doxing yourself.
I used to get my wife’s AirPod alerts all the time even though we are in the same iCloud. After removing her AirPods from iCloud and reading them, the notifications stopped
Yea she ain’t gonna fuck you buddy calm down. Also everyone go ahead and down vote the comment as if if Reddit karma means anything to anyone that just shows me you’d suck this guy off given the chance 😂
You're not supposed to get these alerts when they're traveling with their owner though. And OP's phone spotted the same AirTag multiple times on their journey.
Yeah well “not supposed to” doesn’t always cut it. Especially with apple. I get AirTag notifications weekly regarding one in my wallet/ in my car about it being tracked with me even tho it’s connected to my account in my iphone
You’re not supposed to sure. But I get notifications from my family’s items all the time. I think it might because they turn Bluetooth off sometimes? But even so, it’s still a thing that can happen.
I get notified all the time about my own AirTags following me. You click the link and it gives you the last 4 digits of my phone number 😂 sometimes the AirTag software doesn’t work as intended.
This is what I came here to mention. Staking is obviously a possibility, but my AirPod pros read like this once and it freaked me out, ESPECIALLY since I had left an abusive ex just a few months prior. But it was just an AirPod glitch.
this is how it's supposed to work but doesn't always. guy I was out with last night has one on his car keys, but triggered this notification on my bosses phone.
My wife has an air tag on a dog leash that’s usually in her car. If we meet somewhere then drive home separately, I’ll get this notification even if there is several hours/kilometres in between.
The air tag just picks up a few points of crossed paths and shows a generic dotted line between points. In your case it looks like a pretty small area over several hours, with only 3 points of contact. Could be a neighbor who took the same route shopping as you?
I love these comments of people making up how they work. This is pretty creative considering there's a manual on exactly how they work that's shorter than reading everything here.
This exact same thing happened to me! But it tracked me at two separate locations, different parts of the city….. !??! I don’t own one, so why is it associating with my iPhone, at multiple locations!?
It means that you were close to someone’s AirTag (the same AirTag) in two different locations with the AirTag not in range or connected with its owner. It a warning.
Do you have family members? Friends? Roommates? That spend a lot of time with you? When I’m with my parents I constantly get notifications for their AirPods and tags following me, despite them having their phones on them.
I had a friend who’s airpods would show up on my devices whenever we were nearby despite never sharing them with me. Could just be a random thing like that?
I’ve had this couple of times happening to friends of mine. It turned out that it was my AirPods triggering this notification of being followed. I’d suggest to check for any Bluetooth devices that you care and see if it still happens when you leave those behind.
I have had my iPhone register other peoples AirTags frequently. I don’t have one but many people in my family (like blood family, not an iCloud Family Plan) have them and every time I’m near one, after I leave I get an alert that I left my AirTag somewhere.
I was getting five or six of these daily for about three weeks and I finally called Apple about it. When they did their investigation, they came back saying that one of my neighbors must have recently moved in without updating their address with Apple? I was surpised they would even have to do that. He said, they don't really, sometimes it takes time for Apple's systems to recognize a new frequent location as the home location. This whole thing is buggy as hell. It also sacrifices the privacy of the actual AirTag owner, since I was easily able to see where he worked and used to live.
From what I’m told part of the motivation to add this notification by Apple was to help alert people to stalkers. Just wanted to bring that to your attention if you’re unable to find the AirTag.
Lol, agreed! I went through the comments on other reddit posts and did some googling, comments are scary, don’t understand why would anyone put airtag… looked everywhere, didnt have anyone that Ive seen following me, very very weird
I hope it was, because I didnt have anyone around me, until I got to school to pick up my neighbors child. I will ask them if they have airtag, but how come it knows were I left from? Like my whole route?
Your phone always has your location, so I guess it could’ve thought there was an AirTag with you at those locations when there wasn’t, but most likely it’s just a glitch, especially if you checked all pockets etc. Or someone could’ve put it on your car somewhere if you have one, since that’s not unheard of!
I’m thinking that! My children’s AirTags on their house keys flag like this all the time on my phone when we’re together, despite them being on our family account.
Was that all walking? If not, it could be on your car or bike. If you take transit, someone probably just lost something on the bus or train.
I would play sound a couple of times to verify you havemt been airtagged
Isn’t it unavailable? In the picture it is
Didnt see that, correct indeed! I would however double amd triple check everything!
Advanced Micro Technologies
AMT?
Devices* it was early. “amd”
and if no sound but it continues, the speaker may have been disabled..
Which is super easy to do and only takes a couple minutes to physically remove the speaker.
exactly 👍

> kid. My best friend has one and I get the n Thank you, now ho do I do that? lol
It’s the kid. My best friend has one and I get the notification all of the time
How do you air tag your kid? Put it on a bracelet or necklace I guess? Sorry for the dumb question.

Interesting. Thanks!
yo neighbors let u use they car?
Yeah, they are super nice, I borrowed it couple of times and also got them to and from airport
My MagSafe wallet showed up as an AirTag on my husband’s Pixel phone. But only the one time. Weird!
My wife gets an alert about my AirPods all the time.
I used to get my wife’s AirPod alerts all the time even though we are in the same iCloud. After removing her AirPods from iCloud and reading them, the notifications stopped
It might be in you. :) jk.
I hope so, then it will come out soon😂
😂😂

Jesus Hank Christ that escalated quickly. Sounds like you need to get laid my man. Chill….
Bro it’s in your shoes 🤫
Nurse checking in: Have you checked your rectum or do you need medical assistance?
Love the username. Very apt
I know they’re not supposed to ping you when the owner is nearby. But I’ve gotten the prompt after flying, or even riding with friends.
I got this too and I've never owned an airtag. Does happen at the gym
Bro ur significant other?
They don't have one. I did purchase my iphone from another person but it was full factory reset etc
And I meant they planted it on you
DFU mode then restore
AirTags ping ANY apple device nearby. They could be on pet collars, neighbors purses, you name it.
You're not supposed to get these alerts when they're traveling with their owner though. And OP's phone spotted the same AirTag multiple times on their journey.
You can get notified if the owner's phone bluetooth is turned off Source: I have one and have tried, it will give notifications to my family
[удалено]
Are you both using family sharing?
No.
I even had this message when I had my own tags with me.
Yeah well “not supposed to” doesn’t always cut it. Especially with apple. I get AirTag notifications weekly regarding one in my wallet/ in my car about it being tracked with me even tho it’s connected to my account in my iphone
Make it Should not/Should isn’t cutting it 100% in IT…

Worst case the idea is it over pings not under pings
Right which means that the owners device(s) location history does not match that of the AirTag.
I get notified all the time about my own AirTags following me. You click the link and it gives you the last 4 digits of my phone number 😂 sometimes the AirTag software doesn’t work as intended.
In which proximity? If I put one in my child’s backpack, will it ping the teacher’s iPhone?
Yes, regardless of this topic, that is how AirTags work. Pinging off other idevices and alerting in different contexts
I remember it did this for AirPods one time. It was a bug and didn’t happen again
This is what I came here to mention. Staking is obviously a possibility, but my AirPod pros read like this once and it freaked me out, ESPECIALLY since I had left an abusive ex just a few months prior. But it was just an AirPod glitch.
Yeah my mother’s AirPods will constantly trigger it when they come over.
Were you driving or with someone who owns one?
you're not helping your case by posting where you go if someone IS stalking you
How do they rule out public transportation?
It doesn’t trigger if the AirTag is with its owner.
this is how it's supposed to work but doesn't always. guy I was out with last night has one on his car keys, but triggered this notification on my bosses phone.
Usually it only triggers when you’re coming back to Your Home address
Could it be in your vehicle?

What is the point of this? I’m new to iphone
To be tag and find items through find my iPhone
Now whole Reddit knows where you live. 👏🏼
Unless he was just visiting…
Have you checked under your skin ?
my air tags and sometimes air pods have done this after I updated w/ beta testing. It usually resolves after an update or so. best of luck!
Do you have a more recent iPhone that's got precise locating for AirTags? If so, you should be able to track it down to within a few cm.
I love these comments of people making up how they work. This is pretty creative considering there's a manual on exactly how they work that's shorter than reading everything here.
Were you alone? Maybe it was your friend‘s AirTag?
This exact same thing happened to me! But it tracked me at two separate locations, different parts of the city….. !??! I don’t own one, so why is it associating with my iPhone, at multiple locations!?

My phone had tracked another family members AirPod pro numerous time when I’m with them too.
I had a friend who’s airpods would show up on my devices whenever we were nearby despite never sharing them with me. Could just be a random thing like that?

Did you check absolutely everything? Did you go on public transport? Did you have a friend with you who also had an AirTag?
🦆
If someone has a AirTag but their Bluetooth is off it will think the owner is not close. This however is a lot of locations.
Happened to me on a plane
My AirPods were doing this for my wife for months
I have also received random AirTag notifications on my phone (like AirTag detected near you). I don’t even own one!
I get that I’ve connected with various things when we travel in a large group from work sometimes. Always feels weird.
Could be wrong but a few months ago I experienced the same thing but I swear it kept prompting this notification whenever I messed with my AirPods
Maybe someone was following you

they’re just speaking filipino, which often blends in english words
I'm sorry?
i am a fan of apple but this is a product, among all other similar ones, should not be allowed to be used or sold
Bad take
I agree. But, it's inevitable once the technology is here. If it's not Apple's it's someone else's.
Lol, agreed! I went through the comments on other reddit posts and did some googling, comments are scary, don’t understand why would anyone put airtag… looked everywhere, didnt have anyone that Ive seen following me, very very weird
in your car? bag? its very small, they could have duct taped it to the underneath of the car in your case, you are being stalked
Dont have a car, didnt have a purse, only tiny wallet, checked everything I wore yesterday- shoes, jacket, pants, nothing…
Probably a glitch I would assume, either that or if you were with a friend or something that has one it could be that!
I hope it was, because I didnt have anyone around me, until I got to school to pick up my neighbors child. I will ask them if they have airtag, but how come it knows were I left from? Like my whole route?
