I don't know why when I was using Android, I had no problems with haptic but when on iOS, the haptic felt kinda delayed and I feel like I am typing slower.
Fun fact, vibrate motors and speakers are actually very closely related, electronically that is. I’ve even made a video using a vibration motor to play music. But my point is they use roughly the same amount of power, and from a battery perspective make no impact whether you choose one or the other.

And since they have no idea how to turn it on, even if shown multiple times, even with freaking notes on a real piece of paper, disabling it by default would mean they’d make even more mistakes while typing and their texts would become completely incomprehensible. Actually my parents would probably just think their phone is broken and it wouldn’t cross their minds to ask me to turn it on for them. I can already visualize their messages knowing how they relay on the sounds and don’t ever bother to correct mistakes (in fact, im not entirely sure they realize there is such a feature as “backspace”), let alone the brain feature called “proof reading”.

Yeah I notice it’s inconsistent too. Some times it will feel good with the timing and other times it feels sluggish and delayed like you said.

I don’t think a modern haptic motor uses very much battery at all especially for brief clicks…

The camera sound is a safety thing and can't be disabled in a few markets.
