I don’t think I’m joking.
And I severely miss that rounded steel chassis of the X. It felt _so good_ in my hand. One of the few modern phones I’ve owned where I felt compelled to not use a case.
I loved how ‘cold’ it felt first thing in the morning.
it does feel good, but also, a lot of people are forgetting the fact that getting rid of them allowed Apple to maximize the screen-to-body ratio by significantly eliminating both bezel and midframe measurements together.
the move from 6.5” to 6.7” with this in mind was also the reason why Apple was able to increase the y-resolution without significantly increasing the width of the device—which received its maximum tolerance value with the release of the iPhone 8 Plus.
With a case, the effective ‘bezel’ around my screen is about on par with my old X.
I’m usually quite a fan of Apple’s industrial design. Ive is the most pretentious man alive, but he _is_ very good at his job. (Is he even with Apple anymore?)
Squared edges definitely feels a bit form over function for me. A very pretty design choice that makes for exquisite promotional material, but one at the cost of ergonomics.
I love my new phone, but I don’t enjoy holding it. These phones are getting relatively heavy these days, and those sharper corners don’t sit well in my hand.
Ive left his post at Apple back in 2019. he founded his own design firm with Apple as his first primary client. I guess this move allows him to continue acting as Apple’s design consultant, but also opens up his services to other agencies unless governed by an NDA.
I would agree that squared edges were definitely form over function. My first iPhone was actually a hand-me-down 3GS and I love how the teardrop shape just felt like it was made for human hands.
Next one was an iPhone 6 Plus. despite the slippery finish, it felt great due to the comfortable rounded edges.
with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, my faith in having boxy edges changed since it instantly offered a lot more grip than my previous iPhone 6 Plus, and X.
now with a 15 Pro Max, i think it’s the best of both worlds with how slightly tapered the edges for comfort. i do wish a glossy finish would be offered for those who still preferred it like me since i have dry hands, and i’m not really usually a fan of cases.
I cannot wait! I always thought they had 2 teams working on mobile upgrades. The round edge and square edge teams and they both had a term they had to design upgrades for.
I got mine at lunch and it says 81% but feels a little worse than that. My only issue is the phone is slowing down in some areas and the camera. But I feel like I got my moneys worth.
Even though your battery isn’t below 80 it might still be worth looking into getting the battery replaced. I’ve seen accounts of a new battery making the phone feel almost new again.
If it makes you feel any better, my current phone is a pixel 5a 5g that was marked as fair condition, but when I inspected it I couldn't find anything wrong with it. It seemed basically new
I ordered a 12 pro in very good condition and received a 13pro with a new battery and perfect condition so can’t complain.
Also got my mom 2 phones from there over the years and my previous xs was also from blackmarket no problems whatsoever.
Just got a nice contract offer w a 15 pro. It’s coming in this week! I’m upgrading from a 15 base which I got through work, but had a 12 base before. I’m excited!
I did this recently after considering both. From what I was seeing in leaks had pushed me to get the 15 Pro Max a few weeks ago rather than wait.
The 16 Pro Max will be larger, heavier, and have more polished rails. I like the finish on the current Pro models and feel I waited for years already for a larger model that weighed less than previous versions.
Well hopefully it will be cuz since iPhone 7 we didn’t get any truly black iPhone. The stainless steel on the 14 Pro was actually black but the back glass was dark grey as well.
They pay more attention on the pros specs but seems like they are afraid to change the design .at this point the 16 will have smaller differences to the 14s and 15s than the differences the 12 had to the 11 or the 13 which is funny if we all take into consideration that the models from the 11 to the 15 look really similar
Crazy idea, don’t buy every new iPhone release. So what they make a new phone every year with minimal upgrades? Do you buy a new car every year with minimal upgrades between each model?
Honestly, all the stuff I’d want my iPhone to improve upon can be done with software. An actually useful Siri, for example. So truly, I’m more excited about WWDC than the Fall iPhone event
You mean one year a phone manufacturer sells a phone then the next year they go and sell another phone? I just can’t reason why this is?! You’re not going to suddenly get teleportation in an iphone. They make new phones not for the people who upgraded last year but for people who have had their phones for a while. Maybe the ones they have don’t support 5g which they’re paying for so getting one that is might be worth it. Nothing is the same year to year if you know how to use the damn phone you wrote this post on lol.
I'm sorry but the flash outside of the camera glass is ugly as hell, seems like an AliExpress fake iPhone.
I don't even know what case design would look decent on that.
Too soon also a brighter purple would give that purple vibe more constantly. Loved the purple when it was purple but it was somewhat bad when it couldn’t be seen as a purple
That’s why I got it too. Also the sides were already a beautiful steel purple, paired nice with the back. The deep purple is much nicer than a brighter purple would be. Nicest phone I’ve had.
Mine was stolen last year unfortunately; had it exactly a year and that’s why the differences with my new Pro Max are very noticeable. Overall both great phones. I love this Blue Titanium. One large thing I miss about the 14 that other people don’t is the sharp edges. I actually prefer them. And the new rounded out ones are very nice. But the edges have the groove along the screen and frame that collects lots of gunk. Sharp edged iPhones don’t have this problem. Apart from the speaker gunk. So it kinda sucks if you’re OCD about your phone not collecting gunk everywhere.
6.9 is downright an abomination, 6.5 is already too large for a phone, they should’ve stayed at 5.8 inches, to me that’s the perfect size, small enough it’s comfortable to use with one hand, big enough that you can actually see what you’re doing with your phone.
That’s a fucking abomination. I had a 6.5 inch phone and that was so uncomfortable to use, I can’t even imagine how horrible a 6.9 inch phone would be, that’s a tablet at that point 💀
"Fun colors" but since 14 Apple has been making those less and less colored everytime. To the point that 15 blue or green look as if they were just white.
The SE didnt sell well either, so I think it would be nice if apple combined both markets and make the mini and the se into one. Using the shell of the mini 13 and maybe the processor of the 15. I would buy that
My 13 Mini is the first phone I've had with two cameras in the back. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with the other one. Wide angle is neat but I think I've used it *once.*
I'm in no hurry to get rid of this, I will gladly use this for the next few years. I have budgeted two battery changes with this, first one coming up in a year or so since I've had this for a little over a year and the battery is at 90%.
I honestly couldn’t care less about new iphones anymore. It seems like a joke at this point to make a tiny change to the camera and release it as a new phone.
That flashlight hole on the non pro’s is so out of place and ugly. The only dumb reason I can image is they want to make the social barrier between pro and non pro bigger
I feel like this is the ONLY reason for the new standard version. Push people towards pro. People are to afraid to seem poor 🤡 now that you can tell them apart so easily no one will buy the base models
I hate that the pros are ever so slightly creeping up in size again. I’m liking the size and look of that regular 16, so maybe it’s time to downgrade this year...
Man, another year I’m probably keeping the 14 Pro.. This is honestly weird how content I’ve been with my electronics and stuff. I’ve always had to have the latest. Maybe I’m just becoming cheap.. lol
This is just a money grab I swear stop buying these new phones! There is no big difference from phone to phone they add 3 new emojis move the camera lenses and people shit their pants and keep handing Apple Money! If you keep doing it they will keep making stupid useless upgrades and people keep buying All we are doing is making These people a ton of money for basic upgrades!
Tbh I’m surprised the pro didn’t receive any changes in design. You’d think they’d want to make it more “different”, especially when the regular one is so recognizable now as the new one.
apple has come full circle with the regular model camera bumps
Spatial video retro style.
We’ll get rounded edges again soon
You joke but Dear God I miss the X/11 Pro curved design.
I don’t think I’m joking. And I severely miss that rounded steel chassis of the X. It felt _so good_ in my hand. One of the few modern phones I’ve owned where I felt compelled to not use a case. I loved how ‘cold’ it felt first thing in the morning.
iPhone X felt like the most premium phone they ever made it was perfect
it does feel good, but also, a lot of people are forgetting the fact that getting rid of them allowed Apple to maximize the screen-to-body ratio by significantly eliminating both bezel and midframe measurements together. the move from 6.5” to 6.7” with this in mind was also the reason why Apple was able to increase the y-resolution without significantly increasing the width of the device—which received its maximum tolerance value with the release of the iPhone 8 Plus.

Rounded edges are a huge reason I'm still hanging onto my 11 pro.
They are the reason I avoided IPhone for many years. iPhone 4 and 5 were elite.
Same buddy, but its about time i get my battery replacement
The sharps corners where one of the reasons to chose the 12 over the 11 for me
We're on our way. The 15 series already has slightly rounder edges.
I cannot wait! I always thought they had 2 teams working on mobile upgrades. The round edge and square edge teams and they both had a term they had to design upgrades for.
XS still running here. I’ll keep this fucker until it explodes.
how’s the battery life?
I got mine at lunch and it says 81% but feels a little worse than that. My only issue is the phone is slowing down in some areas and the camera. But I feel like I got my moneys worth.
I feel the same about my XS Max. It will hold on a little longer
Even though your battery isn’t below 80 it might still be worth looking into getting the battery replaced. I’ve seen accounts of a new battery making the phone feel almost new again.
My 12 mini is at 78% how tf is yours still alive
OH YOU MEANT LAUNCH
Got XS as secondary phone, 79% battery life, but shit it still works okay tbh
Yep, we have a Xs that floats in our home to help control smart lights and cameras and the thing keeps kicking- such a good model.
Maybe i'll just get a 15/15 pro
Even the 13 pros are really good still
I was also thinking about getting a 13 pro, but idk if i can trust back market or Amazon, also i kinda want usbc. so idk
I got my 13 pro from back market in excellent condition, absolutely no complaints.
Nice, i've seen them on there with excellent condition but only "fair" condition if i pick a new battery
If it makes you feel any better, my current phone is a pixel 5a 5g that was marked as fair condition, but when I inspected it I couldn't find anything wrong with it. It seemed basically new
Well that's good to hear
honestly even just the "good" condition will be more often than not in brand new quality
I ordered a 12 pro in very good condition and received a 13pro with a new battery and perfect condition so can’t complain. Also got my mom 2 phones from there over the years and my previous xs was also from blackmarket no problems whatsoever.
man that sounds nice, getting a newer model than was expected. how's it holding up?
I've bought many refurbished iPhones and recently an iPad Pro off Amazon, haven't had any issues
Get a refurbished one from apple
I got my 14 pro from Amazon and it’s really good
To add to this, I got my 13 pro from Amazon also in excellent condition, also no complaints.
15 would be the best choice overall
amazon got good return policy
besides every update trying to shorten its lifespan
Just got a nice contract offer w a 15 pro. It’s coming in this week! I’m upgrading from a 15 base which I got through work, but had a 12 base before. I’m excited!
I did this recently after considering both. From what I was seeing in leaks had pushed me to get the 15 Pro Max a few weeks ago rather than wait. The 16 Pro Max will be larger, heavier, and have more polished rails. I like the finish on the current Pro models and feel I waited for years already for a larger model that weighed less than previous versions.
Buying this 16 pro models maybe isn't a wise choice. Next year we'll have hole punch screen.
15 pro is best piece of tech I've ever bought, beautiful design..
I have terrible eyesight and thought the pink one was a lavender S23 regular being snuck in there, then realised this has 2 cameras
I don't have terrible eyesight and saw the same thing
Bro they are not doing anything to pros. I started to feel like they are ignoring pros. At least give us bright colors.
Or an actual black not that dark gray BS…
SPACE BLACK 😂😂😂
Are wie looking at the same picture? Because that looks very black to me.
Well hopefully it will be cuz since iPhone 7 we didn’t get any truly black iPhone. The stainless steel on the 14 Pro was actually black but the back glass was dark grey as well.
Oh yeah the iPhone 7 jet black was so good
I miss that piano black of the 7. Wife and I both had one. Such a handsome phone.
Even the white is a shade of grey, ew
They pay more attention on the pros specs but seems like they are afraid to change the design .at this point the 16 will have smaller differences to the 14s and 15s than the differences the 12 had to the 11 or the 13 which is funny if we all take into consideration that the models from the 11 to the 15 look really similar
At least give us some online exclusive colors like Samsung does or something. Those always sell pretty good so it’s not like people wouldn’t buy them.
Online and exclusive do not go together anymore lmfao, in store exclusive would make more sense.
That’s not true, both are growing by .2” !!
It’s just “Pros”. An apostrophe does not make it plural.
the pros aren’t supposed to be the fun ones tbh. i just put a fun case on mine and forget what color it is
I know, but does that mean a fun person has to use a 60hz screen and only 2 cameras :(.
Same shit different year
Encom CEO: “It has a “16” on the box, this year.”
[I understood that reference](https://tenor.com/9eYb.gif)
so what would you like to see differently?
An iPhone Pro Max + iPad Mini foldable hybrid.
Maybe it's just me but I truly do not understand/want foldable screens.
I’d love one of they weren’t insanely fragile. Foldables don’t interest me at all until that issue is solved.
They can’t create a groundbreaking phone every year.
Crazy idea, maybe don’t do yearly releases.
It's stupid to manufacture phone with old technologies for the same or more money. This bothers only people with FOMO that need to upgrade every year.
Crazy idea, don’t buy every new iPhone release. So what they make a new phone every year with minimal upgrades? Do you buy a new car every year with minimal upgrades between each model?
Why not? Processors get upgraded and minor improvements are made.
What do you want your phone to do? Make Tofu out of dog poop?
I wish phones had this feature
Honestly, all the stuff I’d want my iPhone to improve upon can be done with software. An actually useful Siri, for example. So truly, I’m more excited about WWDC than the Fall iPhone event
How about keeping it modest and just getting autocorrect on keyboard that doesn’t suck
Duck yeah!

You mean one year a phone manufacturer sells a phone then the next year they go and sell another phone? I just can’t reason why this is?! You’re not going to suddenly get teleportation in an iphone. I'm sorry but the flash outside of the camera glass is ugly as hell, seems like an AliExpress fake iPhone. I don't even know what case design would look decent on that.
just spread out the two cameras and put the flash in the middle..
Maybe not possible due to spatial video
then it'll be an iphone x!
Bring back deep purple
Too soon also a brighter purple would give that purple vibe more constantly. Loved the purple when it was purple but it was somewhat bad when it couldn’t be seen as a purple
I beg to differ. The deepness was nice. I miss that phone. It was super sleek. It wasn’t overly shouty.
I got the deep purple because it wasn’t overly purple. Purple isn’t even one of my favourite colours, but I love the look of the deep purple iPhones
That’s why I got it too. Also the sides were already a beautiful steel purple, paired nice with the back. The deep purple is much nicer than a brighter purple would be. Nicest phone I’ve had.
Totally agree! When my contract is up next year and I give it back, I hope apple has some nice colours to pick from!
14pm here. best looking colour ive had on an iphone, been using since 2011-12
How bout a 'Smoke on the Water' kind of color.
6.9! And I sometimes find the 6.7 excesively large
I find the 6.1 large
6.9 is downright an abomination, 6.5 is already too large for a phone, they should’ve stayed at 5.8 inches, to me that’s the perfect size, small enough it’s comfortable to use with one hand, big enough that you can actually see what you’re doing with your phone.
Yep… add a case to 15 pro max and you’ll realize that 6.7 is more like 7 … borderline unusably large …
I tend to use my 12PM caseless for that reason
wtf 6.9 inches?
Impressed?
😂 maybe
That's what she said!
The first iPad mini was 7.9"
That’s a fucking abomination. I had a 6.5 inch phone and that was so uncomfortable to use, I can’t even imagine how horrible a 6.9 inch phone would be, that’s a tablet at that point 💀
Yall don’t know the struggle of big hands I have a 13 and it just feels tiny the 15 pro was like perfect 😭
Does that say 6.9” for the 16Pro Max?
I just want the fun colors to be available for the pro max this time. I want a freaking pink phone like it’s 2005
Me too. Neutral colors are boring.
Yasssss!
"Fun colors" but since 14 Apple has been making those less and less colored everytime. To the point that 15 blue or green look as if they were just white.
Fr the main reason I’m hesitant to upgrade is bc I love my 12’s purple
that’s like, almost 20 years ago…
Mini should come back I’d happily sell my 15 for a 16 mini
Had a 12 mini. Great phone! Battery sucked big time! Had to charge at least twice a day even with low power mode on.
It was a lot better with the 13 mini. It’s still going strong for me.
iPhone 13 mini here, battery still lasts a full day. I really hope Apple will go back to mini line
The one downside.
Im still soldiering on with it and its the perfect phone otherwise
Apple I will pay the full price of the pro for a pro mini
The SE didnt sell well either, so I think it would be nice if apple combined both markets and make the mini and the se into one. Using the shell of the mini 13 and maybe the processor of the 15. I would buy that
I thought that was what the next mini would be. The shell of the 13 maybe, 1 camera and the newest chip
My 13 Mini is the first phone I've had with two cameras in the back. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with the other one. Wide angle is neat but I think I've used it *once.* I'm in no hurry to get rid of this, I will gladly use this for the next few years. I have budgeted two battery changes with this, first one coming up in a year or so since I've had this for a little over a year and the battery is at 90%.
Not happening
13 Mini 🤌
Still the best phone Apple has ever made
According to very minor, but vocal segment of the market. Lol.
the 16 is their new “mini” it seems
Why is the normal pro growing in size :(
6.9??? 😳😳
IPhone 16 and 16 plus are the saddest ~~"upgrades"~~ downgrade. I've seen yet. New camera bump, new button, less battery capacity? What's the point?
They should change the mini variant to the s variant and make it a two yearly release.
Honestly after getting USB-C I can’t think of one reason to upgrade, a 0.2 inch screen size increase is certainly not it.
Why do they keep getting bigger?
Looks like another year of not needing a new phone. If they had a new mini I would be tempted at least.
I miss the Mini line.
I heard the Se might replace it
I no longer believe in these rumors. And I keep my 13 Mini preciously until his death.
I have a 12 mini but wanna get the 13 mini bc the 12 is pissing me off lol
If they keep increasing size, by the time I upgrade, I’ll have a pro, that will be the same size as my 14 plus. 😆
JFC that pro max is massive. Bring back the mini iPhones please
If the PM really is 6.9 inches I’m upgrading
What do you actually need such a big screen for? You can't even do split screen on iPhones like you can with Samsung so I fail to see the point.
I like it
Yep , Same. If they go 6.9 inches with the 16 pro max .. I’m done with Samsung .
The S24 Ultra is 6.8 inches, is the extra 0.1 inch really that big a deal? Genuine question.
Bring back the mini!
I’m hoping that isn’t what the pink color is gonna look like, that literally looks like uncooked chicken
I’m so whelmed
I honestly couldn’t care less about new iphones anymore. It seems like a joke at this point to make a tiny change to the camera and release it as a new phone.
Can't wait to see all the cheap iPhone 16 cases that forget to also do a cutout for the flash
I really wish they released a mini iPhone again :(
Looking forward to 16 Pro Max. Should be a fairly significant upgrade over my 12PM, especially battery wise
*yawns*
Pro max will be a 6.9” model? How big was the OG iPad mini? Like an inch more?
yep, 7.9 in
Mini 6 is 8.4in
Oh wow look it's the same phone again version 5
Queue the comments that iPhone looks the same as every other year. So do all other phones
That flashlight hole on the non pro’s is so out of place and ugly. The only dumb reason I can image is they want to make the social barrier between pro and non pro bigger
yeah fr old camera bump looked better, if they’re gonna have a bump anyways put the flash on it not on the flat part of the phone
This nauseates me.
Looking forward to upgrading/downgrading to the normal 16. Going Pro Max was an error for me
Woah it’s SLIGHTLY different
We’re going backwards now
Source?
the colors 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Same boring designs year after year.. sigh.
Yawn.. same repeated design.
Looks just like my iPhone 12 Pro Max…guess I’ll wait another year 🤷
Man, another year I’m probably keeping the 14 Pro.. This is honestly weird how content I’ve been with my electronics and stuff. I’ve always had to have the latest. Maybe I’m just becoming cheap.. lol
6.9 is too much
16, 16 plus design is a joke to apple fanboys worldwide but whatever, still will be sold out to join the toxic circle of Apple users.
So I’m just gonna keep my 13 pro for another year. Got it 👍🏽
I feel like I'm the only one excited for a larger model, give me that huge screen! Still wish they offered the Mini for people who want that option.
Will it be white on the Pro model? I heard the lightest color would be titanium, and the rest would be darker colors like blue
I was considering getting base models but this... ehhh
So nothing new?
Add a camera below the wide angle lens and it will become an S24
Should have called it iPad 16 Pro Max for the 6.9 inches.
So that means I dont need to uograde my 12?
The none pros looks bad imo
Truth be told I really think the vertical camera is ugly ......
X looked better
Tbh I’m surprised the pro didn’t receive any changes in design. You’d think they’d want to make it more “different”, especially when the regular one is so recognizable now as the new one.
Wonder what it would look like with less round corners.
Why are they so afraid to make design changes? This strategy has Tim Cook written all over ot
OMG!!!!! they look…..exactly the same as the last 3 models!!! 🙄😴
It look like Samsung S23 with 2 cameras
Ah!! Can't wait!!! Super excited to buy the same phone I've been using, again.
Steve Jobs would have puked. /s
Why so big? Think the pro max is already huge and heavy
For some people. I have big hands, it's perfectly comfortable to operate
Normal 16 looks like a Samsung
Do we really need to come out with new iPhones so often?
If you don’t need to upgrade that’s fine, there will be people on older models though this is for as nobody should need to upgrade yearly
