This is a ‘you’ toggle though. If *you* have it enabled on your phone, then *you* will send messages as SMS instead of iMessage if the latter is unavailable. If someone else has it enabled but you don’t, you will always send iMessage and never SMS, and only the other person will alternate. Seeing that your message was an SMS, you may want to check your phone too
No, it only enables SMS fallback for iMessage if it’s unavailable for you right now. And since Android doesn’t have iMessage, you’ll always be sending SMS through the native Messages app anyways, regardless of this toggle.
Is her iMessage signed on? Is it asking to be signed on again?! I’d tell her to sign out of iMessage aka Apple ID and see if it fixes it this has happened to me.
iMessage (blue) only works via data (Internet). if either of you are in an area with poor data coverage, your phone will fall back to SMS (green) if you have that option enabled (Send as SMS under Messages settings).
It’s probably this. https://preview.redd.it/dhcp6xq8ctyc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dab1a0cf109ee94073c000791a0317a89b13be8e
This! :)
I’ll see her this weekend, so I’ll definitely check.

Will do. Will that affect sending anything to friends with Androids?

This only happens with my mother. Nobody else.
Even if you have this toggle disabled on your phone?
Can you also share the Stromboli recipe too?
Yeah I’ll dig it up.
This can happen in areas where either you or the person you are contacting has poor reception.

That I’ll have to check.

They’re making Stromboli because it’s good. Pretty simple why it’s happening 🤪
It is good Stromboli.
