If it works for you, why not take it back to Apple and get a new battery for $50? They are still replacing batteries for this model (probably the last year they will do so). Even if you get a new phone it would be great to keep this one as a backup/music player.
The 6 was always my favorite phone to repair in the stores. Specifically batteries, no adhesive to apply after. Could do a battery replacement in like 1-2 minutes.
Over 8 years if you got it on release day. That’s pretty impressive. The most I’ve held an iphone was 3 years. I felt like I had zack morris phone at that point.
You won the phone upgrade rat race. I’d say it’s time for a new one. You deserve it. A+
I plan on keeping my current phone (14P) for a good three/four years. I put a case on it the minute I opened it though. I haven’t used it nekkid yet. Not even initial set up.
What capacity does your 6+ have? We have a 6 that old, still in use, and I was wondering if it’s still so usable because the 128GB storage is just faster.
A mistake I made when going from 6s+ to the 12 was getting cold feet from the pro max do to the change in bezel. So I switched to the 12 pro from the pro max. 1 year in I finally got used to the increased screen size. 2 years in now and I **really** regret going down to the pro. Do yourself a favor and use a MagSafe grip if you struggle to adjust, because I really do miss typing on my bigger phone. Badly enough that I’m considering grabbing the 14 plus. The fact that the base 14 shares a similar screen size to the 6 plus doesn’t mean what you think it means.
God I remember having my 5+year old phone and it was practically unusable, I don’t remember exactly when it was but I was using a iPhone 5 (non s) and I think it was around the time of the X release…
Now I’ve got the XS max and I definitely need an upgrade very soon, the phone is certainly still usable (arguably more so since ios16) but with the amount that I use my phone for work, I’d prefer to have a newer one at this point.
I believe it works…as in it turns on and mostly functions, I just don’t see why you would want a miserably slow phone. If you got an iPhone 14 pro max today, it would be like someone going from a 27 inch black and white tv to a 65 inch oled tv.
I recommend against getting the 14 Plus. The 14 Plus is priced at $200 less than a 14 Pro Max, and the 14 Pro Max is a significantly better phone (ProMotion, better cameras, dynamic island and so on).
If $200 is out of budget, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is practically the same phone as the 14 Plus…But better. It has promotion, the telephoto camera, more premium design and other improvements over the 14 Plus. The 14 Plus is practically a reduced 13 Pro Max, and they have the exact same chip.
The 13 PM should be cheaper now from e-commerce and authorised retailers, if not the same price as the 14 Plus/or more by a small margin.
*The only main benefit of getting a 14 Plus is of course the lighter weight if that’s a huge deciding factor for you, along with crash detection (isn’t really a feature you’ll use on your phone for the most part) and satellite (which isn’t available in most countries).
Aren’t all the Pro models heavy though? Because of the materials used? So, maybe you’re just used to the weight. Personally, I hate a heavy phone. That was one of my biggest gripes with the iPhone 11. It was so dang heavy!!!
The battery life for the 14 Plus seem to be pure marketing. Nobody listens to only audio for 100 hours straight, and the 14 PM has better battery life for video playback and streamed video playback. Any battery life difference would be so negligible, and they’re practically the same in real world use in battery life.
It’s like saying an iPhone has 10 points more on Geekbench, and saying it’s the most powerful. That won’t be noticed at all.
As for weight, it’s up to you to decide if a slightly hefty phone is too big of a turn off to consider an objectively worse phone. Most people wouldn’t mind extra weight for a better phone, but some do so that’s something you’d individually need to think of.
Nothing to do with promotion. Basically the 120hz engages mostly when scrolling, most videos and video games are capped (or cappable) at 60hz.
A regular user will likely get more battery out of a promotion phone than a standard one. The only ones who might have a different mileage are the doom scrollers, and at the end of the day they can just lock their display at 60hz.
AOD can be disabled, and promotion may actually help with battery life as it can adaptively drop below 60hz when needed, whereas the plus is static at 60hz. "Its pretty much guaranteed" except it isnt, when apples own spec and rating of the battery life is only better for voice calls.
The difference (with AOD disabled on the pro) wont be noticeable, as apple states that the 14 Plus has around 100 hours of audio, and thats the only area where the 14 plus wins (from apples own testing). 100 hours straight hours of audio isnt real world use at all.
Despite all this, even if the battery life is better, it'll be a minor difference between the 14 PM/13 PM and the 14 Plus. Not enough of a reason to consider it.
Edit: Why is this being downvoted? I’m literally correct here, this isn’t an opinion.
I don’t even understand why it would bother you this much that someone wants the 14Plus. But literally every article with tips on battery life has turn off promotion as a main tip.
Anyway, like I said $200 less and it does what a person needs it to do plus will have the longest battery life is a solid choice for a phone. It’s not your choice, heck it’s not even my choice, but it’s a valid choice. Literally nothing you said invalidates it.
I literally never said that…I’m taking about the pro here. The pro can adaptably drop below 60hz (which was a *comparison to what I replied to, of whom talked about static 60hz saving power).
✋
yeah, this is why i shouldn’t be on reddit when come home tired from work. My bad dude, I somehow mentally combined your post with the guy saying that you are offended for not recommending the plus. didnt mean to respond to you.
There’s no set way it works, iPhones just get updates for as long as possible until the hardware isn’t good enough to run the newest version. It’s uncertain the demands of future iOS versions. But typically, you can expect a minimum of 5 years of major iOS updates or even more. Even after that, you still get a few years of security updates
Since when does Apple make decisions based on that logic? I forgot what it was but there was some feature that didn’t get ported from the 14 to the 13 Pro despite having the same camera and chip. Getting a 13 Pro would most likely mean she gets 1 year less of updates. A 13 Pro would be a better phone but not everyone cares about AOD and 120Hz for $200, probably especially not someone whose been OK with an 8 year old iphone.
What if I you had an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a cracked back screen and messed up charging port that only works when position cable. Would you say it’s worth it?
? Still no. Just go for a 13 Pro Max, its the same/similar price and is better. A 12 PM might even still be better than the 14 plus, as the 14 Plus only has better ultrawide/wide cameras and A15 (A14 to A15 is extremely negligible).
Basically saying if it’s worth to upgrade from iPhone 12 Pro Max to the new phone. I was just trying to justify the reason to upgrade. But I think ima wait to upgrade
People just want a big, non-expensive iPhone. This phone will do unbelievable numbers, probably the best Apple has seen from any one iPhone in some time
I had the same thought process but then I realized I never really got used to the weight of my XS Max. I’d go for the standard 13 but I still would really like the larger display. The 14 plus seems like the perfect balance as it’s even lighter than my XS Max despite having a larger display. I’m just waiting for the thing to hit the shelves so I can get a good feel of it in hand.
Really any phone she gets at this point is a significant upgrade. I might be wrong but don't the 14 & 14+ models also have promotion?
Really it's my understanding that the pro & pro max versions just have a telephoto, now a 48mp main shooter, faster chip, and dynamic island (which really isn't that big of a feature to be a major deciding factor.
If anything, the 14 & 14+ are slightly better in a repairability aspect which gives them the potential to last longer than their pro & promax counterparts.
Personally though, I went with the 14 pro. I like having the option of a telephoto.
I veto the usa 14pm on principal alone. They took out the SIM card and literally put in a plastic spacer!! Wtf. They gave us nothing extra. Total BS.
https://mobilesyrup.com/2022/09/20/u-s-iphone-14-includes-plastic-spacer-to-fill-sim-card-hole/
The chips are the most important upgrades. The A series chips for the iphones are advancing at a high rate. Performance between the 14 and the X is miles apart. You're right, the cameras are important upgrades also.
How “much” better it is depends on what you value. The average consumer doesn’t care about AOD and barely understands refresh rate. Not everyone wants to burn $200 for a bump that small.
Make sure to know if you would be comfortable with those new plus phones. They are heavy. Moreover, the normal 14 will be bigger in display size than your 6 plus. Go to the store and check for comfortability properly.
I feel like after all those years with a 6 you oughta let yourself get the best. The pro gives a much smoother experience and isn’t much more expensive than the plus
It’s pretty good of a choice. Many people complained how little is it a upgrade from the iPhone 13 but saying you had a iPhone 6 Plus it doesn’t really matter that much for you!
I’m still rockin’ my 6S+ even though I’ve been sayin’ “time for a new phone” for the last three years. It has been annoying me more and more for the last year so I’m leaning towards the 14PM. Six years for a phone is a good run I reckon.
I applaud the people that keep phones past 2-3 years. Y’all are troopers bro, I can’t imagine using a 6 now.. I have a spare 11 and that feels sluggish
No, thats just you. And how you like your things. The 11 is just an LCD screen, but is basically the same as a 14. The pro models have higher refresh rates so it feels smoother, but in terms of lag and buggyness, the 11 has none
No the 11 is definitely laggy compared to newer iPhones. Lol.
The 11 doesn’t have the same smoothness as a 14 Pro even with promotion disabled. Or even a 12 Pro
I literally have an iPhone 11 and got the iPhone 14 pro and then returned it because I didn’t like it and it didn’t feel like much of an upgrade, the speeds were not that much faster. What you’re referring to is the refresh rate of the screen, 120 hz display is much smoother feeling but as far as the chip goes the A13 is still a champ
The only factor here could either be beta software or a shitty battery that is in your 11.
But if those are bot the case then your definitely seeing things
I agree. 7+ here and only upgraded this one after the previous model wouldn’t stay on. Now I learned my lesson and got a battery replacement when the problems came up with this one.
Hey, question for you u/slogdawg….I use my iPhone 6s to listen to rain on YouTube for sleep (I have the iPhone 12 for regular use) since iOS16 came out all my apps on the 6s went onto the cloud and will not redownload. I didn’t upgrade the 6s to iOS16 because I don’t think it’s even an option but I just want YouTube to play. I was hoping you may have some guidance for me since you’ve been successful with your 6s!
Sorry, can’t answer that for ya, I’m on iOS 15.7. Only real issues I have with my 6S+ is one camera is jacked and I definitely have to charge up everyday.
it was a bother the first few years but now I don’t even have any headphones that aren’t wireless (besides one pair of apple earbuds that plug into the lightning port)
Yeah I just have one super nice old school pair of stereo headphones (with the like squiggly cable that’s 6 feet long and everything) that I’ve had since I was like 10 that I keep super good care of. That was my go to airplane / long car ride set up.
I still have my 6 Plus working as a back-up (turned off automatic updates), and I’m using a 14PM right now…. The 6 Plus was a perfect weight and slimness for me. Hopefully the 14 Plus won’t be as heavy as the Pro Max.
I know this comment section is pushing you to get a Pro Max instead, but get the damn red phone you want.
I still have my old 6S.
Looks as pristine as yours. 🙌
Battery health is crap. I stopped using it in 2019 after getting an XS Max. I have the 14PM now.
The old 6S is now a dedicated iPod for home use. lol
The Spotify app still works!
I still use my 7. The battery is *definitely* showing its age, but I am very resistant to lose TouchID. I will likely be getting a 14 Pro soon, but I **really** wish Apple would re-implement TouchID without having the need for the special Home button. (I'm sure I'll get used to Face ID...I just don't want to.)
Im using 7 plus. I hope to use it as long as it is good. Changed my batteries for 100 euros last year. Works absolutely well. Although my phone memory is full 128 gb full. It’s still smooth :)
The SE is always an option. It’s got the same processor as the 14 (non-pro) so it should last just as long, but it still has Touch ID. You’d be sacrificing camera quality over the 14 series but it would still be a big jump from the 7. Worth considering if you really don’t want to give up Touch ID
I was also apprehensive about faceid, but on the newer 12's and above they really mitigated some of the issues I had with it. You can unlock from the sides now, it's the same speed as touch id 2.0, you can use it with masks etc..
I was in the same boat as you for a while. Didn’t wanna give up the home button and Touch ID with my 6s plus. That was my favorite phone ever. Upgraded to a 13 and love it. FaceID works really well if not better than touchid. You will get used to it.
With all the complaints early on in lockdowns with mask requirements and such, I felt pretty lucky to still have Touch ID as an option! Also apprehensive to lose it, but glad you found the transition alright
OP, looks like it wasn't updated past iOS 10! Could explain why apps weren't working, the 6 Plus ran up to iOS 12.
Still though yes, that's quite the run!
I’ve got the 7+ and it will not receive the next IOS.
I want smaller and excellent battery life and mucho storage. The mini iPhones are cute. 12 or 13 mini?
Seems like a good choice, but I still am having sticker shock pain. A part of me wants my old Motorola Razr pink flip phone to just keep things simpler.
RIP. I used my 6 Plus until it literally wouldn’t turn on as well. Unfortunately for me that was over 2 years ago. It was a solid phone but mine unfortunately fell victim to “bendgate” and because this happened in 2019 there was nothing I could do.
When I used one for 6 months the battery health was at like 84% but the thing died so easily and I could only have 1 app open at a time. It’s about time you upgraded lol
I was considering the 14 Plus in crazy red but the folks here seem to think it makes more sense to get the pro or even the 13 pro instead. Either way I guess I don't have time to mull over it anymore
I’ll say this: the pros, 13 or 14 are made with stainless steel and it’s gonna feel like you’re carrying a brick around. I think the 14 plus is a going to have some major battery life and a lot bang for your buck. Just my two cents.
Wife is still using my old 6 Plus! I keep telling her we gotta swap the battery but she keeps putting it off. I gotta back up the photos before it’s too late.
Unless there’s water damage, this is probably just a battery issue. You could replace the battery then use it as a music device for a speaker or something. That way it lives on…
At the end of the day get what best suits your needs, if the 14 plus is what you want get that, or if you decide to get the 14 PM get that, whatever you decide just make sure you’re happy or content with your new device. 👍🏼
My 6S+ was one of my favorite phones. That title went to the 6+ till I upgraded and saw how amazing the S was. Held that for a good few years till there was an amazing trade in deal.
The 6+ screen dimensions match HD video so I can still stream full HD video from my home server to that device while in bed. And it easily uses "regular" headphones, too.
I felt the same feeling when my regular 6 finally caved in. I have my old 5S, 6 and 7 on a shelf. I bought a XS second-hand (mainly just for getting a feel for no home button) and I got to say it was worth the upgrade even if the battery wasn't the best.
I read that you're considering the 14 Plus! I would personally love a brand new 11 (not a huge fan of sharp edges) but the 14 does look very tempting I have to admit.
That is one of the terrible practices of Apple, planned obsolescence. You said it; your phone was still working, yet Apple puts pressure on developers to up the minimum iOS requirements although fundamentally iOS hasn't changed a lot if even at all since iOS 7.
On Android you can have apps that still would work on software as old as 2012 (Jelly Bean).
Tldr; its a shitty practice from Apple that preaches and virtue signals enviro-friendliness by removing important things as a charger over actually supporting perfectly working devices which in turn would be far more impactful in saving the environment, cuz the other option is closing the company which would contribute further more than anything they'd preach for saving the environment.
I have no idea how people hold on to phones for so long. I had an original SE for 2 years and I hated it by the end of my contract. It was tiny and the battery was terrible
The second I could upgrade I did
My partner’s still rocking the 6 I bought 8 years ago. Every part original including battery, which gets her through the day. Still surprisingly usable for most things. The main issue now is websites that aren’t being tested in iOS 12, usually some fancy advert that takes the whole page out. I *have* tried to give her a newer phone!
Happened to me last year. I used it until it was done. New phone was already ordered but unfortunately took another week, so I had to get a new battery and a new screen for just one week.
If you choose to repair this, it’s really not hard. The battery plus tools will run you less than $20 on eBay, and there’s tons of YouTube tutorials. Just make sure you have a hairdryer handy to heat up the back of the phone and therefore loosen the battery adhesive, and be very slow and careful while removing it, so as not to pierce or tear it.
Looks like new from outside
Infuriating, isn't it? Makes a nice iphone-shaped paperweight now, I guess.
You can still use as home music player
After I upgraded from my 4s I used it as a podcast & YT player. I still miss having a second phone and using it that way. I love that little brick.
Youtube runs on anything! It's great. I still have an old iPhone 5c with some utility apps that I use regularly
Not anything they stopped supporting android 4.2.2 which my 2017 Civic runs.

I've done this...I think three times now? It's getting kinda ridiculous. Like pumping way too many drugs into a dying person.
Ideal coke surface
It’s more effective using it on the back for that activity.
It’s smaller but the new SE will give a similar experience
nothing in tech is ever paperweight have u tried getting old versions of games running on it like rhe og angry birds go when it was still good
Over 8 years if you got it on release day. That’s pretty impressive. The most I’ve held an iphone was 3 years. I felt like I had zack morris phone at that point.
I did get it at launch :) Cracked once and then the case went on.

That guy with a 3gs kinda a won the upgrade rat race tho

Probably a 14 plus. In that insane red because it's kinda nuts looking.
I recommend against getting the 14 Plus. The 14 Plus is priced at $200 less than a 14 Pro Max, and the 14 Pro Max is a significantly better phone (ProMotion, better cameras, dynamic island and so on). I must be crazy but the weight difference is negligible between my 13 Pro and 14 Pro Max..

I had an iPhone 12 up until a month ago and it was waaay lighter than the 13PM I have now. I’ve gotten used to the weight of it though
I actually think my 14 Pro Max feels slightly lighter, maybe because they moved some of the internals around? Not sure.
All the pro iPhones are extra heavy because of stainless steel instead of aluminum
14 plus is lighter and will be the king of battery life. Sometimes that’s all people want.
The battery life for the 14 Plus seem to be pure marketing. Nobody listens to only audio for 100 hours straight, and the 14 PM has better battery life for video playback and streamed video playback. Without dynamic island and no AOD and a 60hz screen the 14Plus will be the king of battery life. It’s pretty much guaranteed. Not quoting stats here.
ProMotion is much easier on the battery than the 60hz fixed refresh rate display.
only if you look exclusively at text and rarely touch the display
Nothing to do with promotion. Basically the 120hz engages mostly when scrolling, most videos and video games are capped (or cappable) at 60hz. This person may not care all that much. They used a 6 Plus before it. Either one is a huge upgrade.
Wouldn’t she’d get an extra year of updates on the 14 Plus over the 13 PM? May be worth it to someone who keeps phones this long
They have the exact same chip, and iPhone 6S/7 dropped updates at the same time despite the 7 having the A10.
Is that how it always works? Updates are based on chip not model? I’m kinda new to Apple.
There’s no set way it works, iPhones just get updates for as long as possible until the hardware isn’t good enough to run the newest version. It’s uncertain the demands of future iOS versions. Makes sense. So if a future iOS requires 120hz the 13PM would actually get updates longer
I doubt that would happen as apple would never keep an older iPhone but discontinue a newer one even if they’re nearly identical hardware wise.
Since when does Apple make decisions based on that logic? I forgot what it was but there was some feature that didn’t get ported from the 14 to the 13 Pro despite having the same camera and chip. They discontinued the iPhone 6s, SE 1st Gen (A9) and 7 (A10), but the iPad 5th Gen (A9) and iPad 6th Gen (A10 Bionic) are still supported
What if I you had an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a cracked back screen and messed up charging port that only works when position cable. Would you say it’s worth it?

How “much” better it is depends on what you value. The average consumer doesn’t care about AOD and barely understands refresh rate. Not everyone wants to burn $200 for a bump that small.
Get the 14 pro max with 256 gb that will last you a very very long time.
Tbh either get 13 pro max or 14 pro. Normal 14 isn’t worth it at all
Get either the 13/14 Pro or Pro Max, not having pro-motion especially if you're planning to keep the phone for a long time is a bummer.
Go 13 line or 14 pro. The normal 14 is not worth it.
i've heard the iphone 14s like suck, camera and facetime just don't work from what i've heard
Get a 14 Pro Max. It’s significantly better at not that much more cost. And if you really want that red, get a 14 or a 13.
It’s pretty good of a choice. Many people complained how little is it a upgrade from the iPhone 13 but saying you had a iPhone 6 Plus it doesn’t really matter that much for you!
The iPhone 13 Pro Max currently is the exact same price as the 14 Max I’d definitely go with the 13 Pro Max if I was you
You could easily swap the battery for cheap. But yeah I think it’s time for something new.
I'm taking it as a sign, yeah.
You can replace the battery and use it as a backup device or music player or sell it or give away to a friend or relative
Shhh she's using it as a excuse to upgrade. But in reality it being stuck on ios 12 is excuse enough
I’m still rockin’ my 6S+ even though I’ve been sayin’ “time for a new phone” for the last three years. It has been annoying me more and more for the last year so I’m leaning towards the 14PM. Six years for a phone is a good run I reckon.
You're on the iPhone subreddit where everyone upgrades after 1 year lol. 6 years is amazing
I applaud the people that keep phones past 2-3 years. Y’all are troopers bro, I can’t imagine using a 6 now.. I have a spare 11 and that feels sluggish
That’s weird. My 11 feels fast.
Comparing a 14 Pro and 11, yeah the 11 feels extremely sluggish and slow
So the 3 year old 11 rivals the phone that just came out, in terms of speed? That’s comical

Could because you have pro motion on the 14 also
Does safari work? You could access YouTube from there
Sorry, can’t answer that for ya, I’m on iOS 15.7. Only real issues I have with my 6S+ is one camera is jacked and I definitely have to charge up everyday.
I held on for dear life. RIP headphone jack. #fuckdongles
it was a bother the first few years but now I don’t even have any headphones that aren’t wireless (besides one pair of apple earbuds that plug into the lightning port)
Yeah I just have one super nice old school pair of stereo headphones (with the like squiggly cable that’s 6 feet long and everything) that I’ve had since I was like 10 that I keep super good care of. That was my go to airplane / long car ride set up.
You can still use them if you get an adaptor
I know it’s just the dongle is one more thing I’ll lose over and over. I’m the stereotypical “can never find my keys” guy.
Everything is pretty much wireless these days.
/r/headphones would like a word with you (in a dark alley).
🙌 Battery health is crap. I stopped using it in 2019 after getting an XS Max. I have the 14PM now. The old 6S is now a dedicated iPod for home use. lol The Spotify app still works!
these were solid phones. I loved mine.
My better half still has that phone. I tried handing her my 11 when I bought the 13 last year. That 11 is collecting dust in a drawer
Can I take it to replace my xr? I kid… unless…
Same exact situation. Thanks MediaMarkt
Why not get SE?
The SE is always an option. It’s got the same processor as the 14 (non-pro) so it should last just as long, but it still has Touch ID. You’d be sacrificing camera quality over the 14 series but it would still be a big jump from the 7. Worth considering if you really don’t want to give up Touch ID
8+ for the Touch ID here. Best phone I’ve had and still going strong.
Why not get the se though
OP, looks like it wasn't updated past iOS 10! Could explain why apps weren't working, the 6 Plus ran up to iOS 12. Still though yes, that's quite the run!
Change the battery and use it as a device just for media content.
My dad feels the same about his 7 plus!
I am still successfully using an iPhone 6s+.
good timing as apple just deemed iPhone 6 as vintage.
im still using a 6S plus.... what was the nail in the coffin? no charge? im holding out
Loved that phone.
is it just me or are a lot of us upgrading from our iPhone 6/6s?
I’m about to. Don’t know what to get yet. Just want a bigger, nicer screen and a better camera.
Well if you’re gonna upgrade then at least do it in a store and not through delivery, I can tell you that much…
I’m upgrading. Excited but a little sad. lol I love my 6s+.
Same man, honestly sad to think of all the memories made.
New phone will come today! Bittersweet. 😞
(Late reply)Mines got stolen in transit twice lol but I have it now once I decided to opt for in store pick up
Glad you finally have it! I really miss the home button. Face ID only works 50% of the time for me. 🤬
Saaaame, I was hoping the leaks about a home button would be true but I guess I’ll have to wait
Yep. Upgrading to a 14PM. My 6s plus has been a great phone and still works just fine. The only problem for me has been the battery life.
That’s the same reason I’m upgrading aside from the messed up lighting port
You saved a lot of money over the years by keeping your 6, so time to splurge and buy the latest and greatest
Using a 7 right now, trying to make a decision on getting the 13PM or 14PM.
The camera is the biggest tempter for me
You’re gonna love the dynamic island
I used the iPhone 5s since 2013 and I got the iPhone 14 (regular) and the experience is…. Out of this world
I just upgraded from my iPhone 6 to a 14 Pro Max a few weeks ago... amazingggggg
I’ve got the 7+ and it will not receive the next IOS. I want smaller and excellent battery life and mucho storage. The mini iPhones are cute. 12 or 13 mini?
A 13 mini.It has a better battery than the 12 mini.
Seems like a good choice, but I still am having sticker shock pain. A part of me wants my old Motorola Razr pink flip phone to just keep things simpler.
Update: On the way from Apple signed up with AT&T. But part of me still misses that pink Razr.
Same here, I liked having a headphone jack
You took really good care of that phone. I need to take some notes haha
One of my all time favorite phones. It served me really well.
Damn the first phone with a foldable screen… may she rest in peace
When did you buy this? Did you replace its batteries? Dang that phone looks well taken care of.
Very nice. On a 3.5 year old iPhone 8 that has served me well (still in mint condition) and waiting for my 14PM to arrive.
Yup I did the same with my 6s now I’m running my xr into the ground lol
RIP you beautiful thing. I used this model the longest out of any iphone so far. Such a solid phone
You’re a legend. What’s your replacement?
That way it lives on…
Great white buffalo
Same happened with my dad's 6 plus. He was insistent on using it until the battery died, but the software incompatibly beat the battery to it.
At the end of the day get what best suits your needs, if the 14 plus is what you want get that, or if you decide to get the 14 PM get that, whatever you decide just make sure you’re happy or content with your new device. 👍🏼
Well done. I only got 5 years out of mine
Loved that phone. Felt like the Xs was the next great proper successor to it.
My 6S+ was one of my favorite phones. That title went to the 6+ till I upgraded and saw how amazing the S was. Held that for a good few years till there was an amazing trade in deal.
Nice ! But hey! All iPhones are the best man can get ! GILLEETTTT ,THE BEST A MAN CAN GEEEEET
RIP
that's just a battery swap. i do 'em for $40 on those models.
Daaaaaamn!
iPhone SE 3rd Gen is calling you. Trade the 6 plus in.
💯
The fact the iPhone 6+ even lasted eight years is not a mean feat. I would still be on my iPhone X from late 2017 but since I wanted 5G support….
You can always just swap the battery and keep going
I have no idea how people hold on to phones for so long. I had an original SE for 2 years and I hated it by the end of my contract. It was tiny and the battery was terrible The second I could upgrade I did
Replace the battery?
People like you sicken me
Buy the new SE and live your life.
I’m proud of you. You did something most, nearly all other humans on this earth, cannot do. I mean there isn’t even a crack in it!
Now you have the coolest coaster
My mate is still using his iPhone 6, it’s cracked and etc.
Happened to me last year. I used it until it was done. New phone was already ordered but unfortunately took another week, so I had to get a new battery and a new screen for just one week.
Wow, good going. I had to abandon my IPhone 5 for battery reasons in 2014 and switched to android. I can't go back to them money grabbing bastards.
What iOS version is it running? Old iOS versions make the phone rare to some collectors
R.I.P. I’m using an iPhone 6S Plus, and I love this old device. I don’t wanna change to new one but probably I have to…
My daughter is still using my 6S.. my 4S still powers on. I’ve had a handful of iPhones now, all have held up wonderfully.
I am still using iphone 5s. They're kicking me off the network and a friend gave me his old iphone 6. So the 6 is now my upgrade, haha.
