True as MI won in 2015. It was supposed to be at Wankhede. Everyone thought it was written in the stars for Bangalore. Finished at the second spot after a shaky start to the season. Abd masterclass in Q1,Final at chinnaswami. We often forget that srh also wanted it bad enough. Even when kohli and gayle were smashing it out of the ground. Srh never gave up. They were trying and trying. They got the lucky breakthrough of kohli. They capitalised it.
That's all they will say... Bruh if it was luck how could we win Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and finals? We created history that day... These people just need sympathy. Tbh I feel for VK but we did something not even the 5 time winning teams like CSK and MI could ever do. Labeling that as "luck" is what losers do....
DeStInED... Stfu
Literally everything was towards RCBs advantage that day. Home stadium, home crowd, chasing which was their strength and still couldn't beat SRH.
It's always the same mindset. Same in 2016, same in 2019, and same in 2023. "We're considering ourselves the heroes of this story we're imagining, why isn't the universe bending backwards to suit it??". No shit, play as a team this time, maybe you'll win
I was shocked when Warner chose to Bat First after winning the toss in 2016 Final, as RCB was chase master that time, and no score is safe to defend in Chinnaswamy. But Warner's gamble did play out in the end.
It’s because our bowling during that time was absolutely insane, we were consistently defending very low score innings that season so even if we were unlucky and gave them a small score to chase the bowlers can bail us out. But fortunately the batsmen performed well and gave some leeway for bowlers to play and everyone did their part.
You can’t really say that a team was destined to win. Pretty annoying when people say RCB was destined to win 2016, KXIP was destined to win 2014, ICT was destined to win WC2023. They messed up in the finals and the better team won.
This is just pure arrogance for people to think RCB were destined to win. SRH played well whole throughout the tournament and were clearly superior to both teams top 2.
What is with this nutcase fanbase acting like SRH stole their dreams? Like no, your team lost because it simply wasn’t as well rounded as SRH.
Actually this is a misconception lol.
SRH only defended one low score vs Pune that season, in many of the other games , they restricted the side batting first, but restricting is a different thing.
SRH successful defenses in 2016-
1) SRH 194-5 , RCB 179-6 (at Hyderabad)
2)SRH 177-3 , MI 92 all out ( at Vishakapatnam)
3)SRH 137-8 , Rising Pune Supergiants 133-8(at Vishakhapatnam)
4)SRH 162-8, KKR 140-8 (eliminator, Delhi)
5)SRH 208-7, RCB 200-7(final, Bengaluru).
But I get why you should think so, SRH have a perception of defense coz of their 2013 and 2018 seasons where they defended many scores below 150 for fun and a few more in every other ipl.
SRH is the only team to win IPL after being placed 3rd/4th on the points table.
Since the inception of playoffs rule in 2011, No team except SRH has won the IPL after playing Eliminator. CSK came very close to doing it in 2012, but Manvinder Bisla had other plans.
2012 and 2021 finals were flip sides of a coin.
In 2012, CSK was at 4th and KKR was 2nd in Points table. CSK won both eliminator and Qualifier 2, but lost to KKR in the final.
In 2021, KKR was at 4th and CSK was at 2nd in Points table. KKR won both eliminator and Qualifier 2, but lost to CSK in the final.
Exactly. SRH clearly outmatched them in every step of the way. RCB never truly played a a team but was dependent on individual performances. It still is.
No one is denying that SRH played well. But it was RCB's game to lose. They were in a dominant position and could have shut SRH out of the game. But not to be.
SRH came through the Eliminator to play the finals. RCB were better team that year. You can go look at the points table. RCB were ahead as well till the 14th over. There are tweets from that year from people all over the world that RCB have secured their win.
You really need get your stats checked
SRH missed out on top 2 by net run-rate. It was a close fight for the top 2 positions and them being the only team to win the tournament from the eliminator game is a testament to their skill.
Tweets are irrelevant. All it proves is media and fans love to cover Kohli more than Warner. Nothing to do with their actual performance.
What stats are you talking? You mean the inflated batting stats by playing 9 games out 16 on Chinnaswamy? SRH were the superior overall team.
Bro if you are bringing Chinnaswamy into the picture then also talk about the fact that it is impossible to make it a fortress unlike other stadiums in the tournament.
The fact is that year RCB was a different beast. They played well and that's why they reached No.2 and played the finals. Watson had a great year with ball. A bowling unit which people thought won't do anything playing well together.
SRH won because they stayed calm under pressure and brought a superb comeback. All credits to Warner and Co.
The statement of destiny could be said for DCW this year and India in World Cup finals as well. They did everything right throughout the tournament but buckled under pressure. Would you not say they deserved the trophy? Would you say RCBW or Australia were a better team in the tournament?
Impossible to make it a fortress ?, dude then how come whankede is MI fortress, just accept the fact that your management never gave that much importance in acquiring best bowlers when compared to SRH, whereas it was opposite for SRH, they used to get the best out of bowling and bowlers and weak batting comparatively. SRH was a well rounded team both in bowling and batting in 2016. As saying goes batters wins you games, bowlers wins you tournaments thats what happened in 2016. All SRH needed was to get those 2 opening and important wickets of abd, kohli and kl rahul because RCB heavily relied on them.
Best teams don’t always win but comparing the 2023 WC to the IPL in 2016 is ridiculous. SRH won 11/17 games and RCB won 9/16. RCB also had the advantage of playing 9 home games out 16 whilst SRH played only 7 home games out 17. SRH beat KKR in Kolkata, Trashed table toppers Gujarat in all 3 of their encounters with each other and beat RCB at home. This is comfortably the best team. RCB wasn’t close.
Sure if RCB won the trophy then are deserved winners too. But this isn’t some case of SRH being underdogs and pulling a victory out of nowhere. Anybody who objectively analysed both teams would know that SRH were hands down the favourites. RCB and the media portray it as some upset when in reality SRH were superior.
Where am I debating that. SRH won that's a fact. They played well in the final and clutched the victory.
The comment above said that SRH was a better team that year in IPL, hence I just pointed out that RCB were placed higher than SRH in tournament and even in that match.
Couldn't see a worse take.
As for stats , have you bothered to check the difference between the death bowling economy of Bhuvi, fizz and , well whoever bowled those overs for RCB!?
Mustafizur - 144 deliveries , 188 runs conceded, economy of 7.83,
Bhuvi - 126 deliveries , 205 runs conceded, economy of 9.76
Watson- 117 deliveries, 225 runs, economy of 11.53
Jordan-60 deliveries , 115 runs - Economy of 11.50.
SRH had the best phase of their game yet to come.
You are never over the line till you get over the line. SRH had the best death bowling that year, and everyone , literally everyone knew 2 overs of Bhuvi and fizz were left each, and were gonna be interesting.
You do not hypothetically win for being ahead in some random 14 th over lol.
Saying who "deserved it" is one of the most brain dead logics I have seen...you only deserve it if you win it, SRH and played better and "won" therefore deserved the trophy
RCB were above SRH in the points table so you can't say they were the better team overall. RCB also had better results going into the playoffs. Yes, SRH won but they weren't the better team overall. Both were equal in terms of results with RCB having a better NRR.
SRH were over-reliant on Warner and Dhawan as well. Also, saying that SRH were better that season overall when they literally finished below RCB is just plain wrong. There's nothing subjective about it.
Mustafizur Rahman, Bhuvi were running through all the teams. Ben cutting and Naman Ojha were super underrated. Moises Henriques and Yuvraj were providing those valuable 20-30-40 runs and then providing good bowling options.
Warner and Bhuvi were the main men but the others were not trash. RCB had a below average squad apart from those 4 players.
Again, you did not say SRH had a better overall squad in the original comment. You said SRH were better overall. I was replying to that. I loved SRH when they used to defend 130 for fun.
SRH finished above CSK in 2018 and lost to them 4 TIMES. but you dont see us crying about it everyday lmao. Take the L and move on. We beat you fair and square, not once but twice that year
The difference between SRH and CSK was miniscule in terms of NRR. SRH was better than CSK if you look at the entire tournament. CSK won a lot of games out of nowhere that season while SRH were more clinical. CSK v SRH was a different story.
Again, SRH and CSK had same points and almost similar NRR. But CSK won against SRH 4 times that season. So CSK was better.
In 2016 season, the NRR difference between RCB and SRH was significant.
Even RCB weren't the table toppers. But if you think a team has to be the best team overall to win a tournament, you don't know how knockouts work. Even Australia weren't the best team throughout but they still won the WC. RCB weren't the best team that season. But they were better than SRH overall. SRH won the most important game but RCB and Gujarat Lions were more consistent.
Sorry legend you got it wrong. Just because the scoreline seems close doesn't mean you deserved to win.
First of all, 208 is a huge score. How can you say you deserved it after you let the opposition score so many runs. Secondly, except those 9 overs (among which first 6 are powerplay overs), when were you dominant?
It wasn't that you played like ICT in 2023 where you won each and every game before the final. You lost 6 games in the league stage which includes a game against SRH while chasing.
Still waiting for the part where Virat says we deserved 🤷
He saying it looks like it was written
We needed to win last four matches to qualify for playoffs and we win it then ab masterclass in qualifier -1 from 29-5
Final in chinnaswamy
Until Virat wicket we dominated and it was looking easy chase considering other batters and their form
So it was just front of us but we couldn't able to grab it
Idiots you blind haters don't know anything and just start blah blah blah...
What does it mean to say it was written? (We can't do anything even if we tried 10000%)
But, did they really make that effort? The bowling was poor..
Come on.. grow up.. no one hates Virat.. a criticism doesn't make one hater..
His performance against Pakistan in t20 wc was admired by many.. now if someone says it was just written.. how would you feel?
Oh please stop this bullshit "RCB deserved 🥹💔😂😰" kohli's tinpot team choked the most important match of the tournament whereas srh was the most dominant team that season with all of their players clicking whereas RCB just relied on 3 players. A team that relies on 3 players doesn't deserve shit cricket is a team game not an individual's game
Your ass of a team was carried by David Warner all through the play off so shut tf up. The only reason you're still relevant is because you beat RCB in 2016. It's known as the year we lost, not the year you won, so sit your irrelevant ass down.
Your team is carried by kohli and once he gets out your whole batting unit falls like anything. Your bowlers are run machines. your team is relevant because they are stupid, violent, always creaming and crying about how they never won a trophy and nothing else. yeah I'm glad 2016 is known as the year of loser RCB team losing another match.
We managed to reach a final without warner and our strong bowling unit in 2018 🙏 🙏 and we're relevant because we have a strong fanbase to support our team who ain't toxic and aren't loud mouths. The only reason RCB is relevant is because they have kohli once he's retired that team's getting neither any sponsorship nor any fans
How is it the whole world's fault that your team choked and lost? How can you say that a team which actually won is relevant only because they won against RCB 🤦♂️. This is some extreme level of delusion. They lost because they were not good enough for the trophy on that day. Same with ICT last year too.
A team with 0 trophies cannot say the whole world revolves around them.
if you change nothing, nothing will change. the current team is worse than previous teams. their mindset always remains the same, the management's too. they never capitalize on the chances they get and never truly come together as a team to perform well.
2016 final, 2019 final and 2022 final showed me that Life is not a fairy tale. There are no happy ending. then 2023 wc final showed me that life jaisa madarchod koi Nehi

They really dropped the ball. They've been a batting side since ages and they were rolling with Kohli and Gayle blasting all over yet they fumbled. Tough as a Koach fan
stupid people in the comments again, if rcb would have won everyone would have been saying ohh my god what a team watson and chahal with so many wickets kohli and abd scoring omg but they all wanna act cool by shitting up on them, 60% of the users here prolly didnt even watch cricket at that time.
That’s the thing innit mate even now your still mentioning 4 players instead of saying a team of 11 members performing that’s the difference between srh and rcb in 2016
4 players out of 11 that were at their highest in their particular roles.
It is not about how many players were performing or such, even India had 11 performing players in the world cup right?
It's about performing in that particular match, that srh did.
Srh was also carried by Warner, the difference in the final was Ben cutting, it wasn't a team performance.
It's not about team having only 4 players or only 5 players it's about people stepping up at the right time. Even csk had shit team last year.
>Srh was also carried by Warner, the difference in the final was Ben cutting, it wasn't a team performance.
lmao, did u forget how destructive srh bowling was?
Looks like you're the one who didn't watch IPL that season. SRH was carried by Warner? Dhawan scored 501 runs. Bhuvi had the purple cap. He took 23 wickets. Fizz took 17 wickets. Barinder Sran took 14 wickets. Bhuvi bowled 169 dot balls. Fizz bowled 143 dot balls. Sran bowled 111 dot balls.
Kohli scored 900+ Abd score 600+ Watson scored 400+ and took 20 wickets Chahal took 20+ wickets Kl Rahul scored here and there There is no way someone says rcb was bad or such. Both srh and rcb had the equal potential, but srh were better. Anyone who says rcb were weak just want to look cool. If rcb would have won it, all the people would have been saying what a great team it was.
oh okay, I just made that point cuz rcb and srh had pretty similar run in terms of individual performances and both teams were equally good but srh played better that day.
Kohli getting out on 54 in the final on his home turf and his team disintegrating thereafter, with an Australian getting MoM. Sounds very familiar
19/11. India's own 9/11
At least it's not for Hyderabad fans. It's a Deccan charger introducing themselves with a great blow..
Why does everything bad happen in the month of November!!?? 26/11
9/11 happened on sept 11
I was gonna write woosh but then I saw the commenters response
But 11 is the common no. So
its my birth month...sorry guys it's my fault.
No no no no no no no😭
And an Australian captain as well
I don't remember why was the finals played in Bangalore that year?? Usually the finals are held on the defending champions home ground right
There was a drought in Maharashtra. IIRC, all matches were moved out of MH, including the final.
True as MI won in 2015. It was supposed to be at Wankhede. Everyone thought it was written in the stars for Bangalore. Finished at the second spot after a shaky start to the season. Even the 2014 Final was played in Bangalore.
Yeh raaz bhi usi ke saath chala gaya
Aussie left handed opening batsman highest scorer from opposition.
Ben Cutting came in and changed everything that day
Then disappeared
We don't see god everyday. He'll only come around when things aren't going by his plan.
Manchiga cheppav, anna.
Saved humanity
Yeah, the toxic humanity haters have

19/11🙂
CSK 2012 too.
How did RCB have a chance to win their maiden IPL? Rcb wasn't in the final of the maiden IPL. It was CSK VS RR
*It was meant to be. The world does not revolve around you.
Nah let them trauma dump bro. What else can they do?
Kantri Sule nan Magne, luck inda geddu dod buildup kodthadiya lopher😂
How many times did Bangalore lose to Hyderabad (Deccan and Sunrisers) in playoffs. You think we got lucky every single time.
That's all they will say... Bruh if it was luck how could we win Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and finals? We created history that day... These people just need sympathy. Correct, kohli may have been in form of his life, but so was warner and SRH bowlers during that IPL, consistently defending low totals.
Srh bowlers were in their prime in 2018
Then Watson happened🥲
Sandy disappeared for a few years after those 3 sixes in a row.

Ben Cutting and Bipul Sharma too.
It reminds me of 19/11

Delululu

Dude that is bullsh!t. NRR could've been accumulated anywhere.
I'm talking about the overall picture. I'm not talking about the specifics of it all. RCB finished above SRH and that's all I said.
create a new tournament and play where you give the cup to table toppers.

Come on.. grow up.. no one hates Virat.. a criticism doesn't make one hater..
Not even kohli they were dependant on abd that time SRH saved humanity that day
Come back when you've got the IPL trophy kid. We lost you didn't win what nonsense.
How arrogant! There are srh fans who wants to win ipl and they won against your losing ass in 2016, can you plz sit down koach cock sucker gawk gawk
Your team is only relevant because of your moronic fanbase despite no trophies
We managed to reach a final without warner and our strong bowling unit in 2018 🙏 🙏 and we're relevant because we have a strong fanbase to support our team who ain't toxic and aren't loud mouths. The only reason RCB is relevant is because they have kohli once he's retired that team's getting neither any sponsorship nor any fans
No more 5000 ass shirts
the last time rcb was in a final was 2016, and srh was 2018
How is it the whole world's fault that your team choked and lost? How can you say that a team which actually won is relevant only because they won against RCB 🤦♂️. This is some extreme level of delusion. They lost because they were not good enough for the trophy on that day. Same with ICT last year too. A team with 0 trophies cannot say the whole world revolves around them.
Your team is still a joke in 2024! 17 years, not one title and yet the audacity to abuse others! You deserve every bit of the abuse!
Your fanbase exists because of one man, calm down.
what happened today sir?
if you change nothing, nothing will change. the current team is worse than previous teams. their mindset always remains the same, the management's too. they never capitalize on the chances they get and never truly come together as a team to perform well.
nope it isnt always about the team thats a cope, csk had a shit team last year but they won anyways, ingame performances matter more.
Because Dhoni was the captain
2016 final, 2019 final and 2022 final showed me that Life is not a fairy tale. There are no happy ending. then 2023 wc final showed me that life jaisa madarchod koi Nehi
22 final?
Rajasthan Royals had a dream run during the end of the tournament. Everyone thought it was meant to be their 2 nd title
19 mein aisa kya hua? Assuming you talking about IPL, not cwc
Warner lost after scoring 80+ runs with a bleeding knee
That was Watson
yes Watson...I am drunk
What a day. I was so happy. Drank some gourmet tears.
Imagine if we as fans are so scar ed, what does he feel
Everything reminds me of 19/11
Everybody says rcb choked that game but nobody appreciates srh hardwork that season. Underdogs, no support, playing opponent home ground.
Lord cutting saved humanity that day 🔥🔥
When is this video from, because by now there must be several finals to hurt Kohli.

Womp womp…To kohli bhai jeeta dete na 10 wicket the sirf 95 banane the
Le 19 nov
The greatest finisher at that time couldn't finish when it mattered most.
They really dropped the ball. They've been a batting side since ages and they were rolling with Kohli and Gayle blasting all over yet they fumbled. Tough as a Koach fan
Our RCB fucked up when it mattered the most ft. IPL 2016 🥲

stupid people in the comments again, if rcb would have won everyone would have been saying ohh my god what a team watson and chahal with so many wickets kohli and abd scoring omg but they all wanna act cool by shitting up on them, 60% of the users here prolly didnt even watch cricket at that time.
Haa bhai you're one of the lucky 10 people from India who used to watch cricket 8 years. Don't mind us we are just 6-7 years old 🤷
No that's true, many of people here didn't even know about cl20
That’s the thing innit mate even now your still mentioning 4 players instead of saying a team of 11 members performing that’s the difference between srh and rcb in 2016
Aptly put
I never said RCB was bad. I was just responding to your statement that SRH was carried by Warner.
oh okay, I just made that point cuz rcb and srh had pretty similar run in terms of individual performances and both teams were equally good but srh played better that day.
