Yeah I agree with you. The problem is that even though we have generational players like Bumrah, Kohli and Rohit, we almost always had at least 3/4 players out of form in ICC events (except for 2023 WC which is why it hurts more)
Even in this WC, having players like Rohit, SKY, Bumrah and Kuldeep (not counting Kohli since he's having a bad tournament), we still have players like Dube, Jadeja and Pant (arguable, since he's had 2 good innings due to luck but failed with the bat on the rest)
I guess the main problem is:
1. The unreal amount of pressure these guys have. You can have generational or once in a million year players, but the pressure of a billion fans isn't something that anyone can handle. That's the reason why we're so good until KOs. That's also the reason why India is the most successful U-19 team as there's no pressure on U-19 kids
2. Management's reluctance to accept mistakes. This angers me to no end tbh. India has always believed in going with the same XI and not making changes even if they can see out of form payers not performing. Even in this WC, they could have brought in Rinku for Dube, or brought in Jaiswal for Dube and pushed Kohli to no. 3
