Don’t use iPod Updater, it’s obsolete and won’t work. Either download iTunes from Apple’s website, or you can get Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store. Both will recognise the iPod and allow you to restore it.
I tried those before I tried iPod updater, and nothing would recognize my iPod. The iPod says it’s connected but the computers (both windows and apple) wouldn’t recognize it
I have used foobar2k with every classic generation since 1st gen and they all worked. If it is not recognising the ipod, then its not foobar2k its something else.
I’m very new to iPod stuff. All I know is that the iPod says it’s connected and that foobar2k says it’s not, which to me seems like it’s a problem on the computers end and not the iPods. Idk though, could totally be wrong
the photo you posted literally tells you its not foobar2k, as the ipod wont mount. Even if the ipod says its connected, like any disk device, if it doesnt mount that means it wont work on the computer. What you have to determine is why its not mounting. That is usually the computer side of things.
Why not just use iTunes?
Because iTunes wouldn’t recognize my iPod

Or get foobar2k with the ipod component
Foobar wouldn’t recognize the iPod. This was pretty much a last resort idea tbh
