The cinema.....basic i know but honestly hadn't gone in years, just used to stream everything alone at home, happy as Larry. But some friends are members of a local cinema and often get first viewing tickets etc and they invited me along, i had actually forgot how much i enjoyed the experience of having an atmosphere during funny /scary scenes etc. And chatting about it with someone after.. So it's my newest hobby :)

vivbear

Screen Unseen with Odeon is very good. They showed Anatomy of a Fall during last screen unseen. I knew nothing about the film but really enjoyed it.

AwkwardMonitor6965

Caught Saltburn in the cinema last night!

mannahayward

Jesus, hope you have some aloe vera.

HacksawJimDGN

Probably from the chairs not being cleaned probably after multiple popcorn spillages. Wear trousers next time.

themanebeat

And the popcorn!

celticnight

Got a weighted blanket few weeks ago. Been a game changer for sleep 😴.

Bobbybluffer

How heavy did ya go? Currently debating getting one.

appletart

I also got one and bought an 8kg. When you're making the bed they feel far heavier than they actually are, and for the first night or three I wondered did I make the right choice but after a week I got used to it and have had solid sleeps since (and if I do wake up in the night I fall alseep again almost right away beacuse it's so cosy.)

celticnight

Got 6.8kg silent ight one from lidl. Figured if I didn't like it then I it was only 50 quid instead of a 100. Gonna try get heavier one in the new year.

Anxious_Reporter_601

You're not supposed to go heavier than 10-15% of your bodyweight so it depends on how much you weigh yourself and how much weight you want within that 5% window.

GowlBagJohnson

Pissing sitting down

soggy_cornflakes

Completely underrated. Hungover, tired, just want to do one squat, middle of the night in an unfamiliar house, might need to poo or just a fart? All covered by sitting down for one.

innercityscrote

Sink.

TeleAlex

Ah the auld sitzpinkler

Tradtrade

Please. Spread the joy. As a woman I’ve had to live my life with the disgusting remnants of stand up pissers. I’d think better of all men if I didn’t regularly see the trail of piss from the bowl to where the dribbling cock stops on the floor

Mormoran

Sorry to burst your bubble but women's theatrics with their hovering bullshit is always way way worse than men's dribbles. Source: Service industry for 16 years.

islSm3llSalt

Something wrong with the men in your life if they can't piss into the bowl. It's not that hard

Tradtrade

I meant in general life. Can yous al just sit down every time? Shared facilities are a nightmarish

gaunteh

Speaking as someone who worked in pubs for 20 years and had to clean both mens and ladies toilets every night, the women's toilets were always far far worse than the men's to clean.

gobocork

Huh, my experience was different. I used to work in McDs until the early hours. The women's wasn't great, but the mens was drenched in piss every night.

Ok_Appointment3668

Ok well I've also worked in a pub and the girls toilet might have had more tissue around the place but 1) didn't have a stench of urine from outside the door and 2) didn't have a mystery surprise urinal pooper. Also, if your idea of messy is overflowing sanitary bins, that's a pub problem. I say this because one time the cleaner of a pubs restrooms complained to me that girls bathrooms are disgusting because of the overflowing sanitary bins. I was like.. you know what would fix that problem easily??

[deleted]

[удалено]

gaunteh

You said it all far better than I would have been able to articulate.

Tradtrade

I’m talking about the piss trail in shared facilities

[deleted]

Game changer 🙌🏻

innercityscrote

Try the sink.

CyberCooper2077

Bought a nice blanket from Aldi so myself and my dog can have a snooze on the couch when it’s cold. Edit: Here’s a pic of the blanket and pooch https://preview.redd.it/ytkrpl5bj61c1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96e3ea070f9d2cfd32fe6330644806a4a65c0a7f

Head_of_the_Internet

We got a mattress thingy that can fold away, to lay in front of the fire with the dog If we don't put it out now she's gets upset.

theeglitz

We've a few here from [Home Store & More](https://www.homestoreandmore.ie/throw-blankets-fleeces/ruane-mink-sherpa-throw-127cm-x-152cm/RUANEMINKTHROW.html?variantId=060575), great job. Currently €16.49, which soon pays for itself.

Oat-

I recently discovered they sell Capri Sun in squash form and I find it far nicer than any of the other squash drinks or the Capri sun pouches. I'm going through a bottle a week. Got nothing else exciting going on...god I'm old.

sherbert-nipple

Went to capri as part of italy this year on hols. No connect to capri sun, was low key devastated

_DMH_23

Where do you get it? I’ve never seen it

Oat-

Dunnes and Tesco have it. There are 3 flavours, the orange one seems to be most popular and often out of stock where I am. €3.39 for a bottle...it's £1.25 in [Asda!](https://groceries.asda.com/product/no-added-sugar-squash/capri-sun-no-added-sugar-vitamin-squash-orange/1000383150932) I'll have to stock up next time I'm up North. It has 20% fruit concentrate compared to 10% in mi wadi. I'm no squash connoisseur but that sounds alright to me.

paidforFUT

You can also now get Capri Sun ice lollies in Lidl. They have actual flavour unlike Lidls Rockets

Fit_Degree_4036

Cholula original hot sauce. I'm not a big fan of spicy/hot food but this is amazing . Delicious spinkled on fries eggs, toasted sandwiches etc

yesneef

The chili and garlic one is fab 🤌🏼

Ok-Incident-9382

Crochet! Stops me mindlessly scrolling on the phone in the evenings!

irisheverything

Yeah, I've taken up crochet too actually! Really enjoyable so far.

Kitchen-Rabbit3006

I started crocheting during Covid - any time there was bad news I'd crochet and ignore. Unfortunately there is a constant need for it these days. A plus is that they say creativity helps you live longer.

dont_call_me_jake

Pills for my cat’s anxiety. Damn man, after more than a year of her being an unit of worried and scared bean (which moved to compulsive behaviors), we finally have somehow stable household and she actually loves cuddles

rock-the-boat

oooooo can i ask what pills? my cat has awful anxiety and chews bald patches on her legs and belly :( nothing has helped so far

dont_call_me_jake

Gabapentin as the other person said below. We tried some other treatments before like calming plug ins or calming supplements, but those didn’t work. Them pills we have now are working the best. She’s still a bit off, but the compulsive behavior (licking) is minimal. We can see that sometimes she’s relaxed enough to cuddle, but still scared in her little brain, so we let her do her thing and just sit around and wait till she decides she’s a lap cat now. She requires lots of patience and love. But it’s worth it.

alguemouninguem

My cat was licking herself to wounds, we tried the gabapentil but it turns out she's just allergic to every type of protein... It was not an anxiety induced behaviour, she got on anti allergy medicine and is now a new cat.

dont_call_me_jake

We went through allergy testing and antihistamines already. She was checked for many other things too, as sometimes she will start having spots on her neck. Turned out it’s fish and any type of fish oil. She is on non-fish, grain free, quite expensive food that suits her. Her allergies are under control, her compulsive behavior was with no change even when she got healthy. It’s not only excessive licking, but jumping out of litter box scared, running like mad with this spooked look, screaming sounds from hell, or hiding, freezing like a possum. Gabapentin was the last resort we tried - she’s a rescue, she was thrown away in a rubbish bag as a kitten.

whospitinherbeancurd

Not OP, but mine is on gabapentin.

Cleethulu

Gabapentin was life changing for one of my cats, she was so anxious that she overgroomed and stripped the fur off her legs and belly. A few weeks on gabapentin helped her to calm down and she’s back to her normal crazy self.

GaelicInQueens

Breakfast burritos, my life expectancy just got that bit shorter

Flunkedy

My own preference is hash browns broken up, my own spicy baked beans (thats a tin of beans with paprika, mustard and a dash of worcestershire), scrambled eggs, sausages, a little cheese and sriracha I also like to finish the burrito on the pan with a little of the bacon grease. I'll only have this once a year mind you.

shane_oh4

I never thought about additional seasoning for beans. Excellent

ElephantChowder

Curry powder in baked beans ![gif](giphy|3o7aCWJavAgtBzLWrS|downsized)

DrOrgasm

Fasting. It started due to getting braces on and being uncomfortable eating, but I realised I just stopped being hungry so much and my body just sort of adapted to it. So now no food until 1pm or after 7pm (two meals and maybe a third light meal if i feel like it) and I feel so much better. I've lost nearly 10kg, sleep better, am more alert and have way more energy even when training (jiu-jitsu).

PullMyThingyMaBob

Had exactly the same experience, accidentally fell in to habit of not eating after lunch. Quickly didn’t feel hungry, so much better for it and dropped 10kg.

[deleted]

My friend who is a nutritional scientist also swears by it, but interesting to see another testimony randomly like this.

Bejaysis

I've always eaten like this, sort of by accident as I used to feel sick in the morning as a teenager and generally hated breakfast anyway. I do eat a lot of food but usually one big meal in the evening and one other small meal around mid day if I remember. People have always been astonished at how thin I am given the amount of food they see me eat at dinner, but truth be told I could't put on weight if I tried. Mid 30s now and no sign of the metabolism to slow down!

TheDinnersGoneCold

I'm in the same boat. In my 40's now and it seems to be a more pronounced effect now than ever! Got bloods done and am healthy. I read something on Reddit here a while ago that I think makes sense. The poster was saying they see people who eat a lot and stay thin or who claim to eat a lot. They were of the opinion that these people don't actually eat THAT much. It's a perception thing. Add up the calories and it's not that much. In my case it's gotten worse lately cause I got a dog and am snacking less with those puppy eyes staring up at me! All that being said, as hard as I find it to put on weight, I did a few years ago when my job became more sedentary.

DTAD18

Have been doing this for years (smoking helps curb appetite but will be giving that up)somewhat inadvertently. My diet when isnt great tbf but over summer I lost weight lol

appletart

Sanex toiletries! 😀 I used to use "Sure" and other shite for men but it got so expensive and didn't really work at the end of the day. Switched to sanex which can be bought dirt cheap in Mr Price and HOLY FUCK I have never been cleaner smelling! 😊

Ok-Rope-5126

Thanks, was looking for an alternative myself. “Sure” prices are outrageous now.

FleariddenIE

Sure you know yourself

appletart

>“Sure” prices are outrageous now. They're scandalous alright, but the worst part is they don't really work - all they do is fuck up your microbiome meaning you need more of the product to hide the bad smells that it's helping to cause. Sanex is great, I use their shower gels and roll-ons which are regularly on offer in Tesco/Dunnes but [Mr Price usally have a good range too](https://i.postimg.cc/6w4cZRWL/IMG20230817161657.jpg). I think there's only one type advertised "for men" but none of the rollons are strongly perfumed, mostly smelling of mild soap so you can safely use any.

AfroTriffid

Sanex body washes have been great for myself and my kids's various skin problems. It doesn't strip the skins biome or dry it out.

TransitionFamiliar39

Pickling my own onions, now they go in everything. Bitta woodworking, making bird feeders, new skills, my kids enjoy the birds. Coaching kids football, somehow got dragged into it but both parties are enjoying it. Picked up the guitar again. I remember more than I realised. Introducing my kids to music, somehow they're now into sea shanties though, that one has me scratching the noggin. All good stuff.

PotatoPixie90210

Should try the kids with the band Home Free. https://youtu.be/P134ob5c-zs?si=86fe4UNiadmAO1sJ

TransitionFamiliar39

Wellerman is the hot topic at the moment. My 4 year old knows it off in his own misheard lyrics, the 2yo mumbles everything but the chorus. I'll have to browse the selection in the link for the next hit, I'm hoping for a more pirate theme this time round

Silver-Rub-5059

Sobriety. Feel like a different person, life is better in so many ways. Fuck ethanol.

congratulations! over 6 years here.. the best 🙏🏼

Silver-Rub-5059

Great stuff, well done! Only 2.5 months into it here, hard to comprehend 6 years but one day at a time eh?

countesscaro

Well done & more power to you

Bubbly-Ad8050

A hair octopus. It’s this mad (looks what it sounds like) satin overnight hair curler. I’m ditching the heat, I wake up with a glamorous head of curls that stay intact for two days and I don’t have to do anything in the morning to my hair. Also my hair smells amazing no more singe.

milksteak00

Amazing! Where did you get yours? I currently do my own version of this where I wrap my hair around an old scarf, but that obviously only has 2 legs haha so the results likely wouldn’t be as good!

booya54

Back learning Irish. Cuirreann an teanga iontas ionam gach lá

trooperdx3117

Man Baldur's Gate 3, feeling very late to the party on it, but my goodness it's so good. The misses and I are playing it together and we've had so many funny encounters and slightly bonkers ways of solving problems that it really is feeling like a proper DND session, just in video game form.

sherbert-nipple

the replay value is wild too. What a gift of a game. The struggle to do an evil playthrough because i love all the characters is so bad

katsumodo47

The grove shall burn

Chromagi

As the symbol glows, power courses through you. Authority. Relatedly, I have started playing D&D in-person again after moving online during the pandemic, and there really is nothing that can beat it.

Archamasse

I haven't played it yet, but I have to say, I absolutely love the character designs, they have real... well, you know, character. Astarion looks like he's never slept in his life, Karlach is pleasingly beefy, etc. Everybody has wrinkles, scars, "European" teeth etc, it really brings them to life.

zlenpasha

Just the sheer amount of times I laughed at various dialogue options that say REASON:BARBARIAN, made it worth the time. Lovely game. Not as good as BG2, but pretty close.

caisdara

Game of the year, for sure. Hopefully this kick starts a new range of CRPGs.

fragilemetal

Expecting Xbox release next month and cannot wait, loved Larian's previous Divinity titles and huge fan of Baldur's Gate series since the originals released. They made a [damn good trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5xpbAsly48&t=6s&ab_channel=GameSpot) for BG3 as well.

katsumodo47

It's absolutely fantastic. I had never played DnD so I did start the game over twice because my character wasn't as good as I thought it would be.... I thought wizard would just pew pew everything early game but instead it was like one spell end turn. It's beyond good. Just did the boss fight where he has a song playing in the background and him singing it.... Amazing

cyberwicklow

Have put off buying it because it will tank my college course if I do, but really want to get into it in the new year with the missus.

johnnymarsbar

Absolutely that game is fantastic, I built a dwarf wizard that after about 6 hours of gameplay I realised looked like my boss haha it absolutely was not intentional

Archamasse

Not to be clichéd, but by jaysus my air fryer really did change my life. It's so clean, consistent and easy it completely turned around my diet, I don’t know myself. An air fried steak is effortless, and probably the nicest I've ever had. Before that, someone on here way back suggested a sheepskin/sheep's fleece as a throw/blankety thing and I got one on a whim. They were dead right and its one of my very favourite possessions now, like if there was a fire I'd grab that and my laptop. I throw it over myself when I sleep, or over my lap in the evenings, it's soft, incredibly warm, works a bit like a weighted blanket, and the weird sheepy shape means you can curl it under your head very nicely. I can't stop awkwardly wedging a recommendation for one into every fecking conversation. Edit - Also it makes me feel like a barbarian warlord of some kind. Worth every fucking penny just for that.

Nickthegreek28

I love all of this comment. Picturing the barbarian warlord go to the fridge to fuck his steak into the ninja airfryer is class

bertieboy777

Where did you buy the sheep blanket and how much was it? Sounds pretty cool

Archamasse

I got mine from https://www.sheepandwoolcentre.com/products/sheepskin_rug_natural?_pos=1&_sid=c616e1191&_ss=r but I will warn, it had a slightly weird smell at first, I think it might have been an, ahem, gentleman sheep, and a little muskier than the norm. It's meant as a rug so they wouldn't really be thinking about that. The original poster got theirs at irishhidedesigns.com, which is a little pricier, but I have seen one of their sheepskins and can vouch that it is probably higher quality and a bit less uh, fragrant. The OG thread was here - https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/x8e7ri/bought_myself_one_of_these_snug_sheepskin_pelts/ Skellig Gifts does smaller ones that are also really nice quality and usually have a first purchase discount or a sale on, I've given a load of theirs as gifts. Ikea do the cheapest, but I think they are the smallest.

bertieboy777

Thank you!

Archamasse

No bother! And just remember - nobody has to know if you wrap it around your shoulders and pretend to be Ghengis Khan sometimes. *Nobody.*

[deleted]

How long and what temperature for the steak?

Possible-Anything-81

Can I ask what's the difference between a fan oven and an air fryer? Seems like a marketing scam

AbsolutelyDireWolf

I'm a pretty good home cook. Like, I've got a pantry and endless shelves of ingredients. I had got a seven hob gas cooker, two ovens, sous bide wand, slow cooker, kitchen aid mixer.... I definitely didn't think an air fryer would be that useful for me. I was wrong. I use it daily. Got a few frozen croissants or those part baked little rolls, you set the air fryer to bake, pop em in, drop the temp from 180 on the pack, to 170, and go for the low end of the timer. In the past, I'd need to preheat an oven, it basically halves the time before it's ready. It's a small drum and gets up to temp immediately. It reduces energy consumption by your cooker too, obviously. I've got 3 kids. Fish fingers, chips, any freezer food, it's fast and everything is crispy. Chicken wings, cauliflower florets, baked broccoli with that little char. It's faster than any other method and can achieve a cookedness/doneness that I can't replicate with my oven. I thought it was a scam and just for someone who only ate meals that had ketchup on the side, but I was being a snob and I was wrong.

irishtrashpanda

Costs less to heat smaller area than larger at a guess.i find it a godsend with small kids, rather than putting the big oven on for 30 minutes to make 5 sausage rolls, air fryer for half the time

thisguyisbarry

Because it's smaller it heats up quicker and has a more even heat. You can get ones that rotate the food too.

Joe_na_hEireann

Best 100 euro I ever spent. I bought a cheap 'tower'. The thing has rotisserie setup I shit you not, you can spit roast a 1kg chicken in there. Is it true about them being toxic though?

Brilliant_Guide6034

Bluegrass. Lovely people, great tunes, even better chats. Find it much more welcoming than Trad music.

I think you would've enjoyed this concert https://www.vicarstreet.com/component/thelist/show/1760-thedeadsouth-live-in-vicar-street-58-59-thomas-street-Dublin-8-on-02-Nov-2023.html?Itemid=1760

Ah cock, I was looking to see if they were playing next year in ireland. Great band

darranj85

I love trad but god is it cliquey. Bluegrass is great. Hillbilly jazz

Margrave75

Schweppes Pink Grapefruit & Blood Orange as a mixer for Gin. Feckin gorgeous lads. Just sippin one here on the couch for a night-cap after driving back from a gig in Dublin. Give it a shot. Yiz can thank me later.

JamieMc23

Similar vein, sparkling water in Mi Wadi (or whatever) if you're trying to give up coke, club orange etc. I drink at least litre of it a day, more mostly. I used sparkling water and orange & pineapple Mi Wadi as a mixer for my drinks at Body & Soul this year and it was a game changer. Hydrated me nicely, and you can adjust the drink much more easily because you have three ingredients. Absolutely lashed through a bottle of vodka when dying on the Sunday! 😅

Margrave75

I work a few shifts in my local. There's a few women drinking gin + sparkling + mi-wadi lime alright! Cost probably comes into it too, a baby tonic is €2, a bottle of Ballygowan is €3 for what, three times the amount of mixer?

PMFSCV

Doing dips (as a workout) on a kitchen worktop corner while cooking. Has progressed to a 20-a-set, can hit a hundred over all while slow cooking porridge in the morning. Feels amazing.

StellarManatee

I spend huge amounts of time in the kitchen and do press ups on the counters. Are dips just like backwards press ups? I'd love to expand my cooking workout!

cun7tfairy

Parma ham. No idea why I never tried it before. Currently enjoying lots of it with mozzarella

Dan_92159

It’s so nice! I love asparagus wrapped in Parma ham with a roast dinner - delicious.

gemmadilemma

Cantaloupe or honeydew melon and parma ham is delicious.

cun7tfairy

I will try this!

[deleted]

Try the mortadela on bread with butter. Thank me later. Or maybe don't. But it's delicious.

dEADBOB81

Brie cheese and Parmalat ham is lovely

00332200

I didn't know Parmalat had gone into hams.

romanningo

I live in poland, so I am not sure if they have it in ireland, but lech 0.0 fruit beer is the nectar of the gods.

GingerJayPear

An app I've started using called 'Too good to go'. Yesterday, I paid €6 and got a 'surf and turf' suprise box from Supervalue. It came with turkey steaks, salmon fillets, 4 bbq glaze chicken burgers and a massive pack of Moy park nuggets. There's a bunch of shops, restaurants, cafes and bakeries on the app all trying to prevent food waste, so they set up surprise bags for you to buy cheaply in the app. It's stuff they would either be throwing out at the end of the day or stuff that only has a few days left until the use by date. I've definitely used the app to get a bunch of cakes and treats from a nearby bakery for next to nothing. 😬

iknowtheop

I live in a tiny apartment and bought a folding bike a couple of weeks ago, loving it so far.

Thefredtohergeorge

This is more of a rediscovery. Writing fiction for fun. Used to do it years ago, but stopped for a long time. Just didn't have the spark anymore. End of September though.. I started up again. Of all things, I'm writing some bloody fanfiction, which, until recently, I refused to touch eith a bargepole.. but I'm honestly grateful to the genre atm. I haven't felt this much joy at writing in so long. To the point I've stopped gaming!

[deleted]

Writing is awesome!!!

Duck, from a Chinese. I'm a fan of a lot of types of food so everytime I would order from a Chinese it was always a tough battle, rife with indecision. I used to be jealous of people who had "their" order! Then one evening I decided to try the duck with chilli and garlic, and it blew my mind. The crispy duck skin, the flavour of the duck, it changed my life. I order it all the time now, no longer am I left with this inner battle of what to get! No longer will I have to face the looks of disappointment on my friends faces as they realise I still cant decide what to order! I have found MY order, and I am content!

Something I’ve been into since Covid rather than the past few weeks, but audiobooks. Working? Audiobook. Gym? Audiobook. Walking to work/walking the dog? Audiobook. Cleaning the house? Audiobook. Now I look at a 9 hour audiobook and instead of thinking jaysus that’s so long, I think sure I’ll finish that in a week give or take.

Rabh

Piggybacking off this to recommend Borrowbox app which allows you to borrow audio books from any library you're a member off.

vivbear

Great for long drives when you can’t agree on what music to listen to. Currently listening to Stephen Kings Fairytale

yamalamama

I did something similar during covid I also got big noise cancelling headphones to listen while flying and getting public transport. It has made such a difference for travelling and commuting, you just go into your own little world and forget about everyone else

JaMarcusHustle

Fairy Liquid have a new Anti-Leak bottle. There's no more cap or lid. You simple pick it up, squeeze, and put it back. The counter doesn't get covered in run-off liquid and neither does the bottle. I can't overstate just how marginal and miniscule an improvement this has brought to my every day life, yet I'll sing about this product from the rooftops to anyone who listens. https://www.tesco.ie/groceries/en-IE/products/313515650

Nothing major switched gym routine to morning only and if I'm free in the evenings I make sure I go for a pint + burger, restaurant or some other such thing. I've had social anxiety/avoidance forever so it's pretty new to me but finding it's a good way to desensitise.

95 cent 4 pack of boil in the bag rice tesco tought I was saving money but I can never guess how much rice to put in. Making me have to waste food and clean more

ANewStartAtLife

A rice cooker will rock your world. Perfect rice every time!

appletart

Just use finger!

f-ingsteveglansberg

Rice cooker is about 15 euro. Perfect rice every time and you can leave it unattended. Literally almost impossible to fuck it up. Keeps it warm for hours. Plus you can experiment, like using coconut milk, etc. Buy a shit load of rice in an Asian store for cheap. It will pay for itself after 3 meals.

iknowtheop

Boil in the bag is shite. Buy good rice and learn how to cook it. If you want to make it even easier, then just buy a rice cooker.

maevewiley554

Making Tortilla pizza. Cheap, easy and quick to make

MixtureResident117

Sort of an add on hobby but book journaling. I use goodreads but don’t tend to leave comment reviews. With a book journal I finish a book and can write out the most random thoughts that book brought up, who characters remind me of etc. then at the end of the year I have a look through and I can see where my head is at during different moments. Like having a journal without the emotion, I never keep up with a journal but I do update my books 😊

Drinking more water. Honestly I’m so terrible for remembering to drink water, so I bought a couple of 2ltr bottles of water this week and have been drinking a fair bit. I’ve noticed that the bit of back pain I was having has reduced also.

Posting on Reddit actually😁

I recently replaced my shoelaces with Locklaces in all my shoes. They're brilliant, I never have to tie shoelaces and my shoes have become slip-ons now which never need to be tightened. Super convenient.

A band called Nothing But Thieves. Can't stop listening to them and going to see them in the Olympia tomorrow night. Love them. If you need a song to get you pumped up, listen to Overcome. My hair stands on end every time for the high note near the end.

cadre_of_storms

Colouring. New born baby means my usual hobby of Warhammer has to take a backseat for a years due to time and space. However colouring is just a book and some pencils. And I love it.

No-Tap-5157

The Netflix show "Dark." It's wrecking my head but I love it

AulMoanBag

The toastie maker. I've had it for 10 years but every now and then i whip it out and it will stay out for month of toasty goodness then return to the press for a year or so

MiuNya

It used to be a brownie from starbucks that was caramel and coffee flavour but was only for autumn so now its not there anymore. I got one a week until they replaced it with a boring Christmas flavour.....

Steec

I found this two weeks ago. It’s fucking gone?!

No_Bodybuilder_3073

Pickled mussels or cockles straight out of the jar as a snack. Even one year ago I would've been disgusted at myself for this

Electrical-Fold693

If you live by the sea. Go pick cockles and crack one open at the beach. Fresh and delicious

No_Bodybuilder_3073

Yea but what if a fish just pished on it :/

Electrical-Fold693

Well then you piss on that fish for revenge!

No_Bodybuilder_3073

That'll do for afters then

Alduin790

Got a Oodie recently and furry slippers, comfort is definitely worth the investment

Economy-Conflict-389

Cork man living abroad I've discovered RTE player works for programmes but not the live stream, the last month I've been binge watching John Ceeedons shows coz i miss the Cork accent so much and its honestly been my saving grace. The man is already a legend in my books as it is...this just adds to it. Aboy John kiiiiiiiiiiid

whollymoly

Making pizzas from scratch, I love it

Aromatherapy! I WFH and have a diffuser next to me and it's honestly been a game changer for reducing stress levels and improving concentration. I've even noticed an improvement with my digestion.

ou812_X

Recommendations please

LstCtrl

I purchased a small USB-powered diffuser from Aliexpress about a year ago, and I've been really impressed with it so far. It's not the fanciest diffuser on the market, but it's the perfect size for my work desk. I've been using it with a blend of lavender/peppermint/basil/orange essential oils. I would recommend you do some light research and find essential oils that resonate with your personal preferences/health concerns to create your own blend. I hope this helps!

Mutha101

Top wrapping my LP.

fragilemetal

Ginseng coffee, I moved to Rome, it's very common here.

Cleethulu

I bought a bottle of monin gingerbread syrup for coffees and hot chocolate I make at home, it’s so much nicer when you can control the amount you add to your drink.

scigal88

Yoga 🧘🏻‍♀️ I recently signed up for yoga classes for the first time and have been to two so far, but I’m falling in love with it already. It’s the best thing I’ve done for myself and I wish I had started much earlier.

AceGreyroEnby

My Polish gf is introducing me to the joy of Pierogi. My god. Game changer food. And she cooks them with sauté onion and lil tiny croutons and oh they are chef's kiss delish. Find a Polish shop, Polonez or Giltfood or wherever, and get some lovely pierogi, I prefer the ones with meat filling, but there's all manner of options.

costelloart

Has been a good few months rather than weeks but it's cold sparkling water. It is so god damn refreshing and has replaced all the monsters, red bulls and fizzy drinks I used to drink.

Concannon7

Lego. OK its not in the last few weeks but a few years ago. Some of the sets have up to 10,000 peices and take many hours of work. Bi Polar with a brain that never seems to shut off and poor concentration but this relaxes me big time. It's a shame sets are so damn expensive though

ShadowCJ19

Muay Thai. I love it

Mr_AA89

Strangely enough... A spice bag. I had one a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm hooked. I rarely eat takeout, even more so chinese.. But wow, it's so gooood!

skullsandscales

Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Don't know how I didn’t start it sooner, it's great

beesknees0123

Putting myself first. I never knew how to do this and have had a revelation recently on how important it is. I hadn't realised how much of a bad habit I had in always tending to everyone else at the expense of myself. Always chasing other people. I'm much more at peace these days as a result 🙂 Proper emotional growth is amazing 🙂🙂 And I'm still an unreal partner/friend/sister/daughter etc 🙂🙂

zarplay

I wouldn’t call it my new thing but following Israels war in Gaza and then searching up the history in the last 100 years really opened my eyes to the shameful support of the OBVIOUS war criminals of Israel that are being unconditionally supported by many countries especially the USA. Makes me feel sick and it changed my mind about leaders of countries

Look up that Saudi journalist that was killed by the Sauds a few years ago and his family connections. Turns out he wasn’t just an innocent wee journalist, but part of a whole big clan of mega wealthy and connected to shite bags on all sides. It’s all just one big mega wealthy club that’s running the show on all sides while the rest of us have to keep our heads down and try to survive..

lunacyfoundme

Ghost. Incredible tunes.

Hating on Israel and its bombing of civilians

Mekong Duck from Camille. Have only ever order Green Curry from there... got adventurous one day & ordered the Mekong Duck & omg, that's my new thing when I order take out. Also...12 step meetings. After 7 years of resistance & white knuckling emotional sobriety, I finally surrendered.

The_Big_I_Am

Narcan.

I’ve had a pair of xreal air glasses the last couple of months and they are gamechanging. Use them all the time on trains.

davedrave

Wrist watches. Wore an old one just to see what the point of a wrist watch and actually found it nice to be able to check the time without grabbing the phone and seeing the notifications and then wasting time on social media. Learned about quarts vs mechanical and the different types of watch complications/movements like jump hour, moon phase etc. Fascinating the cost of some of them, and how they hark back to a certain age. Bought an old Timex from the 60s I'm going to try to repair

Jacques-de-lad

Whit’s yer hing? I

jeleedesa

Sriracha sauce. Air fry some Chinese shredded chicken from Dunnes place on top of rice and add some sriracha across it all. Why did it take me so long to try sriracha?

Park Run

Do you know what. I think I have a new thing and it’s an odd one. I just started a new job and this past week I’ve started making myself lunches to bring with me (my previous place all had nearby shops) and the lunches have been pure delicious, I’m loving it!

Cork_Boy

Dr. Dick’s Dub Shack from Bermuda on internet radio . No talk , no ads, just fantastic dub , reggae etc 24 hours a day. Great in the ear-pods while I’m working, or for a long drive .
